        The action of phospholipid on the rhodotorucine A(Rh.A) acceptance by heterobasidiomyceteous yeast Rhodospori-dium toruloides mating type a cells and the effect of medium composition during sexual differentiation were investigated. Activation of trigger peptidase(TPase) was very sensitive to the originated phospholipid from R. toruloides and was more sensitive to phospholipid liposome made up of phospholipid. Phospholipid present on the membrane of mating type a cells consists of phospatidylglycerol(PG), phosphatidylethanolamine(PE), phospatidylcholine(PC), phospatidylinositol(PI), and phosphatidylserine(PS) of 12.9, suprisingly 45.4, 11.0, and 13.9%, respectively. As the result of using C-1 and N-1 mediums which limited C and N sources capable of inhibiting the synthesis of phospholipid. it resulted inhibiting sexual differentiation and production of Rh.A from mating type A cells.

        It is very important to analyse drivers' visual behavior because visual information accounts for more than 90 percent of information for driving. There is a research that adjustment factor a tunnel is 0.95 and for a continuous tunnel is 0.09. The reason is that a vehicle slowed down for visual trouble in the tunnel section of highway. This problem usually happens but there has never been studied of human factor which is operated as causes. Therefore the importance of researches on stable driving, smooth travel and coping with traffic safety is increasing day by day. In this regard, this study has an eye to visual aspect among things which influence drives' activity.

        기존 Shade guide의 변화 처리에 따른 색 재현성에 관한 실험적 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color differences that can exist between the #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide of the full thickness, the half thickness, the full thickness with silver color die spacer and the half thickness with silver color die spacer and the sample fabricated by the laboratory made with the identical shade designation in the dental laboratory using colorimeter (TC-6FX, Tokyo Denshoku Co., Ltd., Japan). The four kinds of the full thickness, the half thickness, the full thickness with silver die spacer, the half thickness with silver color die spacer of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide were made. The sample fabricated by the laboratory were made according to the firing schedules for Ceramco opaque and body porcelain out of #67 Ceramco porcelain powders with the backing of the nonprecious Vera Bond metal plate of the round form with the thickness of 0.5mm. The color of the four kinds of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide and the sample fabricated by the laboratory was expressed in terms of CIE L*a*b* color coordinates by means of a colorimeter. Color differences(△E*ab) for each paired comparison within each shade group were calculated from the color data. The results were as follows: 1. The means of L*, a*, b* of the sample fabricated by the laboratory and full thickness, the half thickness, the full thickness with silver color die spacer, and the half thickness with silver color die spacer of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide were measured(Table 2). 2. There were not statistically significant difference at a* and b* except L* at L*a*b* color coordinates between the full thickness of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide and the sample fabricated by the laboratory and there were statistically significant difference between the half thickness of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide and the sample fabricated by the laboratory. 3. There were not statistically significant difference except b* of the half thickness with silver color die spacer of #67 Trubyte Boform shade guide at L*a*b*color coordinates between the full thickness and half thickness with silver color die spacer of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide and the sample fabricated by the laboratory. 4. As the color difference (△E*ab) between the sample fabricated by the laboratory and the #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide by the modification increased in the order of the half thickness with silver color die spacer (0.991), the full thickness with silver color die spacer (1.157), the full thickness (2.399) and the half thickness (7.732), the color of the sample fabricated by the laboratory were to copy more easily the full thickness and half thickness with silver color die spacer of #67 Trubyte Bioform shade guide (Table 4).

      • 마우스 肝 Alkaline Phosphatase의 分離 및 特性

        Alkaline phosphatase was purified from mouse liver tissues through the procedures of homogenation, butanol solublization, acetone extraction, Sephadex G-200 and concanavalin A-Sepharose chromatography, and its molecular and kinetic properties were characterized with the following results. The specific activity of liver alkaline phosphatase after affinity chromatography was found to be 11.7 unit/mg of protein with purification factor of 195-fold. The molecular weight of this enzyme was estimated to be about 120,000 composed of two identical subunits. The liver alkaline phosphatase had an optimum pH of 9.6∼10.0, and showed similar thermostability to that of the the other mammalian alkaline phosphatase. The Mg^2+ and Mn^2+ activated the enzyme activity and Ca^2+ showed little effect, whereas Co^2+, Zn^2+ and Cu^2+ decreased the activity. The liver enzyme was competitively inhibited by phosphate ion, but was uncompetitively inhibited by L-phenylalanine and L-homoarginine. Moreover, the inhibitory effect by homoarginine on the liver enzyme was much stronger.

        주요우울증에 대한 Milnacipran의 효과 및 안정성 : Fluoxetine과의 비교

        Objectives : This 6-week, open label randomized, multicenter study was conducted to evaluate the antidepressant effect and safety of milnacipran and fluoxetine in patients with major depression. Methods : The study was done in patients with major depression diagnosed by DSM-IV who score ≥17 in 17 items Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (17-item HAM-D) and score ≥25 in Montgomery and Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS). A total of 87 patients were randomized to milnacipran group and fluoxetine group. In cases of the patients taking other antidepressants, 6 weeks of each medication was administered after 7 days of drug excretion period. The evaluation was done using 17 item HAM-D, MADRS, Clinical Global Impression Scale (CGI), and COVI scale after baseline, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks. The side effects that had occurred during the period of our study were put in records by developed/disappeared time, severities, incidences, managements and results. Results : A total of 87 patients were enrolled. 70 (mitnacipran group 39 ; fluoxetine group 31) of them were included for the 6 weeks of research and 17 of them dropped out with in the first week, not due to adverse reactions or deficiency of effects. Total 17 item HAM-D scores, total points of MADRS, and CGI showed significant decrease after 1 week in each treatment group and continued decrease after 2 weeks and 4, 6 weeks. But there was no difference between milnacipran group and fluoxetine group in the antidepressant effect. There were no significant changes in vital sign, CBC, chemistry, and EKG in each treatment group. The commonly reported side elfects of minlacipran were nausea (25.0%), headache (10.7%), vomiting (7.1%),constipation (7.1%), dizziness (7.1%) and those of fluoxetne were GI trouble (11.1%), diarrhea (11.1%), insomnia (11.1%),agitation (5.6%), and dizziness (5.6%). Conclusion : Milnacipran was effective for the improvement of depressive symptoms and was well tolerated and safe in patients with depression.

      • 조기 양막 파수 신생아에 대한 임상적 연구

        A clinical study was made on 157 newborns of mothers with premature rupture of membranes (study group) and 916 newborns of mothers without rupture of membranes (control group) at Chosun University Hospital from Jaunary 1987 to Decembcr 1988. The results were as follows: 1) The incidence of PROM was 14.6%. 2) 10.2% of all babies with PROM were born prematurely, significantly higher than the incidence of PROM in all newborn cases with 4.8% (P<0.005). 3) The incidence of neonatal sepsis in the PROM group (4.5%) was four times higher than in the normal group(1.1%) (P<0.005). The incidience was related to the gestational age at birth, and also increased with increasing time interval after PROM. 4) The incidence of neonatal asphyxia in PROM group (7.6%) was twice the normal group (3.6%) (P<0.025). The premature babies had greater incidence in both groups. Also, a positive correlation was found with increasing time interval PROM. 5) Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(RDS) was found in 1.3% of babies with PROM, whereas 1.4% of babies in the normal group had the syndrome. Premature babies had higher incidence of RDS in both normal and PROM groups, but the latter had an incidence amounting the only 1/5 of the former. And it tended to diminish with creasing time interval after PROM.
