        평택시 군용비행장 주변지역 주민건강조사

        Objectives : We conducted an epidemiologic survey to evaluate the effect of the aircraft noise exposure on the health of the residents near the military airbases in Pyeongtaek City. Methods : The evaluation of environmental noise level, questionnaire survey, and health examination were performed for 917 residents. The study population consisted of four groups: subjects who lived in the village close to the fighter airbase (high exposure), subjects who lived along the course of fighters (intermediate exposure), and subjects near a helicopter airbase, and the control group. Results : The prevalence of the aircraft noise related accident and irritable bowel syndrome in the exposure groups were higher than that of the control group. The risks of noise induced hearing loss, hypertension and diabetes mellitus were higher in the exposed groups than in the control group. The prevalence of anxiety disorder and primary insomnia were higher in the exposed groups than in the control group. Prevalence odd ratios of the risk for primary insomnia after adjusting age, sex, agricultural noise, and occupation were 4.03 [95% confidence interval (95% Cl) 1.56-10.47] for the subject near the helicopter airbase, 1.23 (95% Cl 0.40-3.76) for those intermediately exposed to fighter noise, and 4.99 (95% Cl 2.14-11.64) for those highly exposed to fighter noise. Conclusions : The results of the present study suggest that the aircraft noise may have adverse effects on hearing function, cardiovascular health and mental health. Therefore, it seems to be needed to take proper measures including the control of the aircraft noise and the management of the exposed people's health.

        안전성 향상을 위해 감마선 조사한 시판 플레인 요구르트의 품질 특성

        To develop a yogurt for sensitive consumer such as infants, children or immuno-compromised patients using gamma irradiation, the effects of gamma irradiation on the microbiological, chemical, and sensory quality in a commercial plain yogurt were investigated. No viable coliform bacteria were detected in the sample and approximately a 6 decimal reduction was achieved in the number of total aerobic bacteria by irradiation at 5 kGy. The initial population of lactic acid bacteria observed in the commercial plain yogurt was 8.95 log CFU/g. Gamma irradiation significantly reduced the initial microbial level to 6.47 and 2.85 log CFU/g after irradiation at 1 and 3 kGy, respectively (p<0.05). However, irradiation dose up to 5 kGy could not completely eliminate the lactic acid bacteria in commercial plain yogurt. pH, color, lactose and lactic acid content, and sensory quality were not affected by irradiation treatment and storage. Our results suggest that irradiation can improve the microbial quality of commercial plain yogurt without impairing the physicochemical and sensory quality.

        산지하천에서 빛가 초식에 의한 부착조류의 생체량변화

        Effects of light and grazing on the biomass development of periphyton were evaluated using natural and artificial substrata (unglazed tile: 3.7×9.5x2cm) in a partially shaded 2nd order mountain stream. In open canopy (relative light input 20∼50%), a relatively high biomass (chl. a: 9.5±3.0 mg/m^2, n=25) was maintained than that of closed canopy(<6% of light input. 3.2±0.9 mg/m^2, n= 17). Due to shading and frequent rainfalls, biomass was lower during the summer than in the spring and winter. During the spring, colonization of periphyton on artificial substrata occurred faster than in winter and it took a minimum of 5∼6 weeks to reach the biomass of natural substrata (8∼9mg/m^2). When snails were allowed to freely enter the chamber (mean density: 114 ind./m^2) with artificial substrata, biomass accumulation (chl. a, AFDW) was low compared to the snail excluded enclosure (50∼90% of ungrazed substrata). It was concluded that the light input on periphyton biomass In a partially shaded stream played a more important role than glazing.

        감마선 조사와 푸코이단/라미나린 병용처리가 돈육 패티의 품질에 미치는 영향

        The objective of this study was investigated to apply the fucoidan and laminarin extract from low-grade Undaria pinnatifida to real food product, a pork patty. Pork patties added with fucoidan and laminarin showed lower lipid oxidation and the inhibition against lipid oxidation was shown to be dependent on the irradiation doses. The Hunter color values of pork patty added with fucoidan increased significantly with an increase of irradiation dose. The hardness profiles of the patties with fucoidan and laminarin was decreased, but the amount of water in the patties was increased. Also, the combination of gamma irradiation and addition of fucoidan and laminarin was shown to be effective for the microbiological control. These results suggested that gamma irradiation and fucoidan and laminarin treatment showed the positive effect on microbial stability and quality of the pork patty.

        재가열에 따른 벼 품종별 밥의 물리적 품질 특성

        In order to observe physical properties of rice depending on reheating, the study cooked rice developed for high quality cooked rice and analyzed physical properties of rice depending on reheating following 24 hr refrigeration. As a result of palatability of cooked rice, Samgkwang had the lowest hardness, while Daebo and Haiami had the highest one. With respect to adhesiveness, toughness and stickiness, Sindongjin exhibited lowest properties. After cooking each rice by cultivars, the study observed their color, texture properties, and microstructure immediately after cooking, after 24 hr of refrigeration and further on. Lightness of cooked rice tended to drop because of refrigeration and reheating. Analysis of texture properties after cooking revealed that Haiami marked the highest points in all categories. When stored for 24 hr after cooking, hardness, viscosity and chewiness increased in cooked rice followed by a decrease after reheating. Observation of the microstructure of cooked rice using a scanning electron microscope revealed that Haiami had its particles in the center as closely condensed. It was apparent that all the cultivars formed stoma in an obvious manner because of refrigeration and reheating. The results of the present study show that physical properties of cooked rice varied according to reheating after cooking and storage depending on the inherent characteristics of rice cultivars.

        현미 품종별 에탄올 추출물의 항산화 성분 및 항산화 활성

        This study investigated chemical components, antioxidant compounds, and activity of brown rice cultivars, to select good cultivar to be used for processing of mixed-rice in the food industry. Proximate compositions, phytic acid, phenolic compounds, and antioxidant activity of brown rice were significantly different among cultivars. Moisture, crude ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrate contents of brown rice were 9.51~12.82, 1.05~1.93, 1.84~6.24, 5.90~9.60 and 71.75~80.34 g/100 g, respectively. Phytic acid content of brown rice cultivars was 7.39~0.87 mg/g. Total polyphenol content of Joeunheukmi and Geonganghongmi cultivars, were 615.25 and $311.14{\mu}g\;GAE/g$, total flavonoid content was 267.75 and $100.67{\mu}g\;CE/g$, respectively. DPPH radical scavenging activity of Geonganghongmi, Joeunheukmi and Hyeugkwang cultivars was 89.17, 87.94 and 43.17%, ABTS radical scavenging activity was 113.57, 113.34, and $93.53{\mu}mol\;TE/g$, and ferric reducing antioxidant potential was 951.67, 1,075.75, and $508.33{\mu}M/g$, respectively. As a result, phenolic compounds and antioxidant activities of pigmented brown rice were high, and it could be used as a functional material.

        감마선 조사에 의한 바닐라 아이스크림의 물리화학적 및 관능적 특성 평가

        This study evaluated the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of vanilla ice cream treated with gamma irradiation. The general composition of the vanilla ice cream used for the study was 45.4-53.3% moisture, 5.5-5.9% fat and 3.9-4.1% protein, and these values did not change following gamma irradiation. The Hunter L, a and b values were slightly decreased following gamma irradiation. The fatty acid composition of the ice cream included caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid and stearic acid, and there was no detectable change following irradiation. There was no significant difference in TBARS (2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances) values between non-irradiated and irradiated samples at a dose of 3 kGy or less (p<0.05). Sensory evaluation indicated that gamma-irradiated vanilla ice cream did not show any difference in color relative to non-irradiated ice cream. However, gamma irradiation did affect the flavor, taste and overall acceptability of ice cream at doses above 3 kGy. These results indicate that gamma irradiation at 3 kGy is an effective treatment for sustaining the physicochemical characteristics of vanilla ice cream with minimal changes in sensory characteristics, though further studies should be carried out to reduce the deterioration of sensory qualities induced by gamma irradiation.

        호스피스병동 간호사의 역할 변화 경험

        목적: 본 연구의 목적은 호스피스 병동에서 근무하는 간호사의 역할 변화 경험이 무엇인지 조사하여 호스피스서비스의 질향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 함이다. 방법: 본 연구는 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 방법을 사용한 질적 연구로서 연구 참여자는 서울시내 일 대학병원의 호스피스병동 간호사 12명이었다. 자료 수집은 2006년 5월에서 7월 사이에 3차에 걸쳐 이루어졌으며 포커스 그룹 인터뷰에 사용된 연구 질문은 "호스피스 환자를 돌보면서 경험한 역할변화는 무엇인가?", "호스피스 간호를 하면서 변화된 역할에 대한 자신의 경험과 반응은?" 이었으며 3차 인터뷰에서는 위의 두 가지 질문과 함께 "호스피스 환자를 간호하면서 경험한 부담감과 어려움을 위한 해결책은 무엇이라고 생각하는가?"라는 질문을 추가하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석은 Kruger(1998)가 제시한 분석과정에 따라 4단계 지침을 이용하였다. 결과: 1차 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 결과 호스피스 병동 간호사가 경험한 역할 변화는 '기계적인 간호에서 인간적인 간호로의 변화', '임종을 지키는 간호', '가족지지 및 상담', '팀워크 조율' 등의 4개 범주인 것으로 나타났으며 일반병동에서 근무할 때와 비교하여 심리사회영적인 부분과 가족을 배려하는 진호실무의 질적향상을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 2차 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 결과 변화된 역할에 대한 간호사의 경험과 반응은 두려움, 난감함, 성숙, 부담감, 미안함, 뿌듯함, 감정이입, 우울 등 총 8개의 범주인 것으로 확인되었으며 간호사들이 개인적으로 삶과 죽음에 대한 성숙을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 3차 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 결과 두려움, 난감함, 부담감, 미안함 등의 부정적인 경험의 감소를 위한 해결책은 호스피스 간호를 수행하기 전에 간호사 인력에 대한 체계적인 호스피스 교육이 필요하고 호스피스 전용병상의 형태보다는 독립 호스피스 병동의 개설이 필요함을 강조한 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 호스피스 환자와 가족을 간호하는 간호사들은 자신들의 경험을 통해 신체적인 면뿐만 아니라 심리사회영적인 부분을 포함하는 전인간호, 가족을 배려하고 팀?p을 중시하는 발전된 간호를 수행하게 되었으며 개인적으로도 삶과 죽음을 이해하게 되는 성숙을 경험하게 되는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 효율적인 호스피스간호 서비스의 제공을 위해서는 독립적인 호스피스 병동 형태인 것이 바람직하고, 호스피스 병동에 근무하게 된 간호사들이 사전에 적절한 호스피스 교육을 제공하는 것이 필수적이라 하겠다. Purpose: This study was designed to investigate various role changes of nurses who have cared both medical cases and hospice patients and what they experienced. Methods: Focus group interviews were done 3 times and participants were 12 nurses who have worked in the hospice unit of medical ward. Results: Role changes in 4 areas such as holistic care, end-of-life care, care fur rare givers, and coordination of hospice team were reported by the participants. What they felt were as follows : fear, confusion, maturation, increasingly labor, regret, accomplishment, sympathy and depression. Conclusion: Although hospice care in general medical ward added extra tasks, it helped clinical nurses recover professional identity and led to growth of nursing by acquiring new knowledge and skill in hospice care.

        폴리머 코팅된 측면 연마 단주기 격자 기반 외부 굴절률 및 온도 동시 측정 센서 연구

        본 연구에서는 측면연마 된 광섬유 브래그 격자를 측면 연마하고 폴리머 상부층(overlay)를 형성시켜 외부 굴절률과 온도를 동시 측정할 수 있는 광섬유 센서 소자를 제안하였다. 외부굴절률 변화에 민감하지 않는 광섬유 브래그 격자를 이용하여 온도를 측정하고 격자를 측면 연마한 후 폴리머 코팅에 의해 소산장 결합을 유도하여 외부 굴절률 변화를 측정하게 된다. 측면 연마된 광섬유 브래그 격자의 온도 민감도는 0.01 nm/oC로 측정되었고 폴리머 상부층의 온도 민감도는 -0.58 nm/oC로 측정되었고 선형구간 별(1.33-1.39, 1.39-1.42, 1.42-1.44) 굴절률 민감도는 498.8 nm/RIU, 694.9 nm/RIU, 1312 nm/RIU로 측정되었다. A hybrid grating sensing device based on a side-polished fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with a polymer overlay is proposed for simultaneous measurement of external refractive index and temperature. The side-polished FBG, which is insensitive to ambient index change, is utilized for detecting temperature variation, and the polymer overlay is coated on the side-polished FBG for measurement of ambient index change. The temperature sensitivities of the side-polished FBG and the polymer overlay were measured to be 0.01 nm/$^{\circ}C$ and -0.58 nm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively, in a temperature range from $30^{\circ}C$ to $100^{\circ}C$. The ambient index sensitivities of the polymer overlay were measured to be 498.8 nm/RIU in an ambient index range from 1.33 to 1.39, 694.9 nm/RIU from 1.39 to 1.42, and 1312 nm/RIU from 1.42 to 1.44.

        중북부지역에서 재배한 소립 검정콩의 품질 및 이화학 특성

        Proximate compositions, quality and physicochemical characteristics of small black soybean cultivar, cultivated in the north-central region of South Korea with different seeding periods, were evaluated. Proximate compositions, chromaticity, water binding capacity, water solubility index, swelling power, and antioxidant properties were significantly different among cultivars and different seeding periods. Moisture, crude ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrate contents of small black soybean cultivar were 5.53~6.69, 5.47~6.54, 15.38~19.14, 34.17~40.26, and 32.04~36.85 g/100 g, respectively. Lightness, redness and yellowness were 35.60~38.61, -0.02~0.07 and -0.56~-0.13, and water binding capacity, water solubility index and swelling power were 84.48~148.31, 46.65~54.89 and 29.87~35.12%, respectively. Total polyphenol contents of first, second, and third seedings on small black soybean cultivar were 10.40~15.48, 9.86~14.85 and 8.61~15.39 mg GAE/g; total flavonoid contents were 5.81~7.25, 5.81~7.34 and 5.52~7.64 mg CE/g, respectively. DPPH radical scavenging activity was 4.55~7.86, 3.99~8.79, and 3.74~9.43 mg TE/g, and ABTS radical scavenging activity was 9.32~12.90, 8.64~13.39, and 8.51~14.35 mg TE/g, respectively. Phenol compound of Tawonkong and Socheong cultivars decreased with delay of seeding periods. Radical scavenging activity of Socheong and Jununi cultivars decreased with delay of seeding periods, but Socheong 2 and Socheongja cultivars increased. In the study, phenol compound and radical scavenging activity of small black soybean cultivar were different, depending on cultivars and seeding periods.
