        Modeling the Effect of γ-Irradiation on Reducing Total Bacterial Populations in Gochujang Intended for Consumption by Astronauts in Space Programs

        This study modeled the effect of γ-irradiation on reducing bacterial populations in space gochujang (Korean red pepper paste). The gochujang samples were γ-irradiated at 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 kGy, and stored under accelerated storage condition (35^oC for 10 days). During storage, total bacterial populations in gochujang samples were enumerated on plate count agar (PCA) on day 0, 1, 3,5, 7, and 10. To calculate maximum specific growth rate (μ_max; log CFU/g/day), lag phase duration (day), low asymptote (Y_0; log CFU/g), upper asymptote (Y_max; log CFU/g), and surviving cell counts recovered with PCA were fitted to the Baranyi equation. The parameters then were further expressed as a function of irradiation dose. Total bacterial populations in gochujang were decreased to below detection limit (1 log CFU/g) after irradiation (5-20kGy). The samples irradiated at 5, 10, and 15 kGy then had bacterial cell recovery, but no growth was observed in 20kGy irradiated samples during accelerated storage. After validation of models, acceptable model performances (B factor=1.15, A factor=1.29, RMSE=1.044, R^2=0.862) were observed. These results indicate that the developed models may be useful in predicting irradiation doses to produce space gochujang.

        일제강점기 임야에 대한 국가 상대 소유권보존등기말소 소송의 문제점 분석 및 이를 통한 임야소유권 확립 시점 고찰 - 경기도 화성시 소재 임야 소송 사례를 바탕으로 -

        In Korea, modern land ownership was completed through the Japanese occupation, but land registration ledgers of Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do were extinguished during the Korean war. Thus, the land registration ledger was restored after the war. However, the restoration was arbitrary by a competent authority for administrative convenience without legal grounds before December 31, 1975, the Cadastral Act was revised. Thus, its presumptive effect for the rights is denied. Because of this, lawsuits have occurred for the termination of the title of ownership registration for a forestry against Korean government. However, there is confusion about the time of establishment of forestry ownership because of a lack of studies to determine the time. In particular, there was obvious confusion about the forest listed in the Land Survey Book prior to the Land Survey Decree on August 13, 1912. Therefore, through the analysis of various literature in this study, we looked into the time of establishment of forest ownership during the Japanese occupation. In the Joseon Dynasty, when looking into various literature, including the Gyeonggukdaejeon, the ownership of forestry was denied, and only the right to use was recognized when a tomb was installed. The Korean Supreme Court has opinion that the person who has been assessed by the Forestry Investigation Decree promulgated on May 1, 1918 acquired ownership, and all previous rights against it are extinguished. According to 『Real Estate Certificate by the Joseon Real Estate Order, etc. [Enacted May 20, 2003 (Enforcement of No. 200305-7)]] and the opinion of Korean Supreme Court, if the ownership was registered in the former land register before the former Land Book Rule was implemented, it cannot be convinced that the ownership was completed. Taken together these facts with the objective of the Joseon Real Estate Decree and the Joseon Real Estate Regulation, it should be considered that the time of establishment of forest ownership in Korea was after the Forestry Investigation Decree. 우리나라의 임야에 대한 소유권은 일제강점기를 거치면서 완성되었다 보고 있다. 하지만 경기도와 강원도의 경우 6·25 전쟁으로 관련 지적공부가 멸실되었다. 전쟁이후 지적공부를 복구하였으나 1975. 12. 31. 지적법이 개정되기 이전에 복구된 지적공부는 법적 근거 없이 소관청이 행정의 편의를 위하여 임의로 복구한 것이어서 그 권리추정력이 부정되고 있다. 이로 인해 임야에 대해 국가를 상대로 하는 소유권보존등기말소 소송 사례들이 발생하고 있다. 하지만 임야소유권 성립 시점에 대해 명확한 고찰이 이루어지지 않아 혼란스러운 상황을 발생시키고 있다. 특히 1912. 8. 13. 토지조사령 이전 토지조사부에 기재된 임야에 대해서는 분명한 혼란이 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서 여러 자료들에 대한 분석을 통해 일제강점기에 임야소유권이 확립된 시점에 대해 고찰하였다. 조선시대에는 경국대전을 비롯한 여러 자료들을 살펴볼 때 임야소유권이 인정되지 않았고 조선 후기에 분묘를 설치한 경우 그 이용권 정도만 인정되었다. 그 이후 일제강점기 동안 임야소유권의 확립을 위해 1918. 5. 1. 임야조사령이 공포되었다. ① ‘이에 의하여 사정받은 자는 소유권을 확정적으로 원시 취득한 것이고 그에 저촉되는 종전의 권리는 모두 소멸한다.’는 대법원의 의견, ②『조선부동산증명령에 의한 부동산증명부 등[제정 2003. 5. 20. (등기선례 제200305-7호 시행)] 』에 따라 ‘구토지대장규칙이 시행되기 이전 구 토지대장상 소유권이전 사실만으로는 소유권 이전등기가 경료 되었다고 보기 어렵다’ 는 내용과 이와 관련된 대법원의 의견, 그리고 ③ 조선부동산등기령과 조선부동산등기령시행세칙의 제정목적 등을 전체적으로 고찰해볼 때 우리나라 임야소유권의 확립 시점은 임야조사령 이후로 보는 것이 합당하다.

        실시간 비디오 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 선별적 비디오 암호화 방법의 전송지연 저감 연구

        Real-time video streaming scheme for multimedia content delivery and remote conference services is one of technologies that are significantly sensitive to data transmission delay. Recently, because of COVID-19, real-time video streaming contents for the services are significantly increased such as personal broadcasting and remote school class. In order to support the services, there is a growing emphasis on low transmission delay and secure content delivery, respectively. Therefore, our research proposed a packet aggregation algorithm to reduce the transmission delay of selectively encrypted video transmission for real-time video streaming services. Through the application of the proposed algorithm, the selectively encrypted video framework can control the amount of MPEG-2 TS packets for low latency transmission with a consideration of packet priorities. Evaluation results on testbed show that the application of the proposed algorithm to the video framework can reduce approximately 11% of the transmission delay for high and low resolution video. 실시간 비디오 스트리밍은 컨텐츠 전달 및 원격회의 등에 사용되는 기술로, 전송지연에 민감한 기술 중 하나이다. 최근 코로나바이러스 감염증(COVID-19)으로 인해 개인방송/원격회의와 같은 개인이 제작 및 이용하는 컨텐츠들이 증가하면서, 실시간 비디오 스트리밍 시 전송지연 저감과 더불어 스트리밍 되는 컨텐츠에 대한 보호의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 실시간 비디오 스트리밍에 선별적 비디오 암호화 방법을 적용할 경우 발생하는 전송지연을 저감하기 위한 패킷 응집 관련 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안 방법은 선별적 비디오 암호화 프레임워크에서 패킷 단위로 재배치된 비디오 데이터 전송 시 한 번에 전송되는 크기의 조절이 가능하도록 개선하였으며, 실제 테스트베드를 통한 실험결과는 제안 방법 적용 시 기존대비 전송지연을 약 11% 저감할 수 있음을 보여주었다.

        Behavior of Burkholderia thailandensis (Burkholderia pseudomallei surrogate) in Acidified Conditions by Organic Acids Used in Ready-to-Eat Meat Formulations under Different Water Activities

        This study evaluated the antimicrobial effects of meat processing-related organic acids on Burkholderia thailandensis (Burkholderia pseudomallei surrogate) with different water activities. B. thailandensis KACC12027 (4 log CFU/mL) was inoculated in microwell plates containing tryptic soy broth pH-adjusted to 4, 5, 6, and 7 with ascorbic acid, citric acid, and lactic acid and with water activities adjusted to 0.94, 0.96, 0.98, and 1.0 with NaCl, followed by incubation at 35℃ for 30h. The optical density (OD) of the samples was measured at 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, and 30 h at 595 nm to estimate the growth of B. thailandensis. Growth of B. thailandensis was observed only at water activity of 1.0. In general, more bacterial growth (p<0.05) was observed at pH 6 than at pH 7, and the antimicrobial effects of the organic acids on B. thailandensis were in the following order: Ascorbic acid > lactic acid > citric acid after incubation at 35℃ for 30 h. These results indicate that organic acids in meat processing-related formulations should be useful in decreasing the risk related to an emerging high risk agent (B. pseudomallei).

        Evaluation of Protein Hydrolysis and Amino Acid Ratio among Different Goat Cuts by in vitro Digestion Model

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate protein hydrolysis and the amino acid ratio among different cuts of goat meat, such as the foreleg, hindleg, loin, and rib, using an in vitro digestion model. The corresponding cuts of beef and pork were used to compare with the goat meat. The hindleg (8.32%) and rib (8.32%) had the highest levels of protein hydrolysis among the goat cuts. There was no significant difference in protein hydrolysis between goat and pork (8.57%), ribs (P > 0.05), which had higher levels of protein hydrolysis than the beef ribs. Before digestion, the glutamine (53.44%) and glycine (11.03%) ratios were highest in the pre-digested goat foreleg and loin (P < 0.05). After in vitro digestion, goat ribs had the highest lysine ratio (17.54%) among the different cuts, and the lysine ratio was significantly higher in goat ribs than beef ribs (P < 0.05). This study provides basic data on protein hydrolysis and the amino acid composition of different cuts of goat meat, which may facilitate the evaluation of protein digestion patterns and bioavailability.

        Antimicrobial Activity of Oleanolic Acid on Listeria monocytogenes under Sublethal Stresses of NaCl and pH

        The objective of this study was to evaluate the inhibition of Listeria monocytogenes growth by oleanolic acid under sublethal stresses of NaCl and pH. L. monocytogenes ATCC15313 (6 log CFU/mL) was inoculated in microplate wells containing brain heart infusion (BHI) broth supplemented with oleanolic acid in various amounts (0, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 4.0μg/mL), and different pHs (5 and 7) and NaCl concentrations (0, 3, and 6%), followed by incubation under accelerated storage condition (37℃, 48 h). The optical density (OD) of the samples was measured at 0, 6, 12, 24, and 48 h at 600 nm. After the lag phase duration was observed at the early stage of incubation, the OD values of L. monocytogenes significantly increased (p<0.05) in BHI broth formulated with 0 and 3% of NaCl during accelerated storage at pH 5 and 7. However, the growth of L. monocytogenes in 6% NaCl and at less than 0.5 μg/mL of oleanolic acid had no growth at pH 5 and only gradual growth at pH 7. Moreover, L. monocytogenes generally had lower OD values as the concentrations of oleanolic acid increased. As expected, the OD values of L. monocytogenes were generally higher (p<0.05) at pH 7 than at pH 5. These results indicate that oleanolic acid should be useful in inhibiting the growth of L. monocytogenes.
