Security threats in supply-chains can be targeted at all the users who use products related to these supply-chains as well as at single equipment or individuals. This implies that these security threats can cause nationwide economic and social damages. In particular, it is true that hardware security threat analysis technology in supply-chains has significant technical barriers due to the lack of software knowledge as well as the need to study and understand undisclosed hardware designs. In this paper, we discuss the future direction of studies by introducing basic concepts and attack cases, along with domestic and foreign technology trends related to supply-chain security technology.
Quench detection method using a series type thermocouple

This paper proposed a quench detection method applied to the HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) wire and the results of the test on a HTS BSCCO (Bismuth Strontium Calcium Copper Oxide) wire were discussed. A series type thermocouple was fabricated for the quench detection. Several thermocouples were welded in series connection, so the series type thermocouple has many detecting points. The temperature variation was detected at each point by using the thermo electromotive force. The feasibility of the proposed method was investigated through the quench detection tests for HTS BSCCO wire. Also, this method has several advantages such as simple structure and cost effectiveness.
Why people use KakaoTalk messenger in spite of stronger privacy infringement by the government?

2014년, 국내에서 가장 많은 가입자를 확보한 모바일 메신저인 ‘카카오톡’을 대상으로 한 정부의 프라이버시 침해 위협이 논란이 됐다. 관련 논란이 발발한 후, 일부 국내 모바일 메신저 이용자들은 국내 정부의 정책으로부터 자유로운 해외 모바일 메신저인 ‘텔레그램’ 사용을 시작했다. 당시 세간에서는 이러한 추세가 계속될 것으로 예상됐지만, 카카오톡의 이용자 수는 되려 증가하는 양상을 보였다. 본 연구에서는 일반적 예측과 다른 현상의 원인을 파악하고자 했다. 이를 위해, 카카오톡과 텔레그램을 사용해 본 이용자 40명을 대상으로 래더링 분석을 진행했다. 연구 결과, 이용자 자신의 일상 커뮤니케이션 관리 측면의 ‘자기 효능감’과 카카오톡이란 커뮤니케이션 플랫폼에 형성된 이용자 규모로 인한 ‘양떼 효과’가 프라이버시 차원의 부정적 이슈에도 카카오톡의 지속적인 사용을 이끄는 주요 기제로 확인됐다. Many Koreans showed a surge of interest in using the relatively safe mobile messenger ‘Telegram’ from Russia right after the government’s announcement of proactive surveillance policy on Korean dominant mobile messenger ‘KakaoTalk’ in September 2014. And this phenomenon was known as ‘Cyber exile’. However, in the following two months after the phenomenon, only a minority of users actually left the KakaoTalk. Therefore, we attempted to investigate this Cyber exile phenomenon against the response to the risk of privacy invasion. To find an answer, we conducted a laddering interview with 40 KakaoTalk and Telegram users and analyzed the data by using a ‘means-end chain’ approach. From the result, Korean messenger ‘KakaoTalk’ users showed a very strong ‘herding effect’ by following the dominant messenger platform KakaoTalk and ‘self-efficacy’ in controlling their own communication when using a mobile messenger to overcome the risk of the government’s privacy surveillance.

Recently in the area of ICT, the M2M and IoT are in the spotlight as a cutting edge technology with the help of advancement of internet. Among those fields, the smart home is the closest area to our daily lives. Smart home has the purpose to lead a user more convenient living in the house with WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) or other short-range communication environments using automated appliances. With an arrival of the age of IoT, this can be described as one axis of a variety of applications as for the M2H (Machine to Home) field in M2M. In this paper, we propose a novel technique for estimating the location of a terminal that freely move within a specified area using the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) in the WLAN environment. In order to perform the location estimation, the Fingerprint and KNN methods are utilized and the LMS with the gradient descent method and the proposed algorithm are also used through the error correction functions for locating the real-time position of a moving user who is keeping a smart terminal. From the estimated location, the nearest fixed devices which are general electric appliances were supposed to work appropriately for self-operating of virtual smart home. Through the experiments, connection and operation success rate, and the performance results are analyzed, presenting the verification results.
N-스크린 환경 하에서 신문사의 통합형 플랫폼에 대한 사용자 지불의사 연구

This paper investigated customers’ willingness to pay (WTP) for the integrated news platform, which is a paid digital news service provided by Korean newspapers. The integrated news platform has been widely employed and regarded as an alternative to recover dramatically decreasing sales of newspapers since N-Screen era began. This study employed a conjoint analysis to examine WTP for the integrated news platform and its attributes. According to the results, WPT for the integrated news platform was estimated as 4543.6 won, which is only 30.3% of the real price. Digitalized newspaper and premium news were found to be significant attributes explaining customers’ WTP. The results of this paper implies that present marketing strategies for the integrated news platform of Korean newspapers should be reconsidered and revised.

본 연구는 신문사의 디지털 유료화 콘텐츠 수익 모델 중 하나인 통합형 플랫폼의 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확장된 통합기술 수용모델을 기초로 고찰했다. 통합형 플랫폼이란 종이신문의 디지털 판형, 프리미엄 뉴스 혹은 비하인드 뉴스, 그리고 부가정보 등을 한 데 묶어서 서비스 하는 유료 콘텐츠 상품을 일컫는다. 연구 결과, 사용 편의성, 사회적 영향, 오락적 동기 그리고 신문 정기 구독 여부는 통합형 플랫폼 사용의도에 정(正)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석됐다. 반면 종이신문에 대한 만족도는 통합형 플랫폼 사용의도에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 종이신문은 통합형 플랫폼과 대체 관계에 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 고품질 기사에 대한 기대효과와 통합형 플랫폼 사용의도 간의 관계는 유의미하지 않았으며, 성별과 연령 그리고 뉴스 소비 습관과 언론사 홈페이지에 대한 만족도 역시 통합형 플랫폼 사용의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. This research examines factors affecting behavioral intention to use integrated platform (IP), which is one of the business models regarding paid digital contents, based on extended United Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). IP is a service which is designed to make digital content charged. It combines digitalized format of newspaper, premium news or behind news, and additional information. The results of this paper show that effort expectancy, social influence and hedonic motivation have positive relationship with behavioral intention to use IP (BI). Satisfaction with newspaper shows negative relationship with BI, which means that newspaper and IP can be replaced with each other. Newspaper subscribers tend to have higher BI than non-subscribers. Performance expectancy, gender, age, and satisfaction with website do not have significant effect on BI.
