      • HFC-134a와 대체냉매 HFC-152a에 CF_3I를 혼합한 자동차냉매 특성

        These days, an attention of environment has been increasing all over the world. to prevent the green house effect and destruction of an ozone layer, an ozone destruction potential(ODP) be zero and a refrigerant for low global warming potential(GWP) is needed. HFC-134a, in which hydrogen is mixed instead of chlorine is a refrigerant used for automobile conditioners and its destruction potential is ecologically zero. However, it is not considered as a perfect substitutive refrigerant as its GWP is high. It is studied refrigerant mixtures in which HFC-134a, HFC-152a and CF_3I with low GWP and zero ODP are mixed by experimentally and concluded as follows; 1. with the variation of speed of compressor outside temperature and flow rate, the heat of evaporator and compressor and coefficient of performance was varied, and influenced the air conditioner. 2. The pressure of evaporator was decreased with increasing the speed of compressor and that of the refrigerant HFC-134a was higher 21% than that of azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I. The overall capacity of condensor and evaporator was increased and HGC-134a was higher than azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I 3. The capacity of evaporator with the refrigerant HFC-134a was higher 6% than azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF31 and the required power with zaotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I was higher 11% than that of HFC-134a. 4. The COP of the refrigerant FHC-134a was higher 31% in 1000RPM. when outside temperature was increased, COP was decreased. 5. Performance of HFC-134a is better than azotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I but prefered zaotrope refrigerant mixed with CF_3I considering the environment.

      • Backplane Interconnect 테스트를 위한 BIST 회로 설계

        Backplane은 여러 개의 보드(board), 즉 부시스템(sub-system) 간의 연결을 제공하는 전형적인 방법이다. 각 보드들은 Backplane의 Interconnect를 통하여 서로 신호를 교환한다. Backplane의 고장(fault)은 전체 시스템을 오동작하게 한다. Interconnect의 고장은 보드를 제거하거나, 교체, 또는 추가할 경우에 발생될 수 있다. Backplane Interconnect 테스트는 이러한 고장을 검출하여 시스템의 동작을 검증할 수 있는 중요한 과정이다. 본 연구에서는 BIST(Built-In Self-Test) 기법을 채택하여 테스트 장비의 사용으로 발생될 수 있는 비용을 최소화하였고 Interconnect의 고장을 자동으로 검출할 수 있게 하였다. 고장 검출을 위해 N+1 알고리즘을 하드웨어로 구성하여 다중 고장에 대해 완전한 검출이 이루어질 수 있도록 설계하였다. 그리고 고장 점검 및 진단을 위한 테스트 패턴 주입을 위해 보드 수준의 테스트에 사용되는 IEEE Std 1149.1 Boundary Scan Architecture 기법을 적용하였다. 시스템 수준에서는 시스템의 다양한 사양에 적용이 용이하도록 설계하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문의 BIST 회로는 카운터 크기의 변경만으로 전체 회로의 수정 없이 적용될 수 있게 하였다. Backplane is a well-known method for inter-board connections. These boards are usually plugged into the backplane of the communication systems and are used to exchange signal with each other via backplane interconnects. Since the backplane is the main communication link, its error free operation is crucial to the system's operability. Generally, faults can be introduced whenever a board is removed or replaced or added. This backplane interconnect testing is a very important process to verify the operation of system. In this paper, the BIST(Byilt-In Self Test)methodology is adopted to minimize the cost of test equipments and to detect faults automatically. This BIST circuit was implemented using the N+1 algorithm to detect multiple faults and the IEEE Std. 1149.1 Boundary Scan Architecture methodology to inject test patterns. At the system level, the BIST circuit must be designed to be easily modified for the potential system configuration. By changing the size of counter only, the proposing BIST circuit can be adapted to many types of system configurations without any modification of entire system.

        씨름선수에서 체중 감량과 회복기의 Leptin과 PAI-1 변화

        Obesity which is defined as accumulation of excess body fat, is central factor of insulin resistance syndrome. Recently, it is revealed tat adipose tissue is not simply an energy storage organ but it also secretes a variety of molecules which affect the metabolism of the whole body, those are leptin and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1). Therefore, leptin and PAI-1 are increased in the obese state. Leptin regulates energy homeostasis and satiety and PAI-1 regulates fibrinolytic system. For these reasons, elevated levels of leptin and PAI-1 are considered as link factors between obesity and insulin resistance syndrome. However, the exact regulating mechanism for serum levels of leptin and PAI-1 is not fully understood yet. In this study, to evaluate the regulating mechanisms of serum levels of leptin and PAI-1 according to the weight changes, we measured leptin, PAI-1, physical, metabolic, and endocrine parameters during 10 days of weight reduction and 10 days of regain period in 7 young athletes. The mean body weight change was -4.7 kg(5.0%) in the weight reduction period and -2.4 kg(2.5%) in the weight regain period compared to baseline value. Baseline level of leptin in athletes was 1.7±0.66 ng/ml, which was significantly correlated with body weight, BMI, percent body fat, body fat mass, triglyceride, insulin, and PAI-1. Baseline level of PAI-1 in athletes was 16.6±5.26 ng/ml, which was significantly correlated with body weight, BMI, triglyceride, insulin, and leptin. Leptin was decreased to 0.7±0.39(44% of the basaline value) in the weight reduction period, and increased to 1.9±0.64(119% of the baseline value) in the regain period. PAI-1 was decreased to 7.4±2.72(44% of the basaline value) in the weight reduction period, and increased to 22.8±7.33(138% of the baseline value) in the regain period. The changes of leptin during weight reduction period were significantly correlated with the changes of insulin(r=0.890, P<0.01) and triglycerides(r=0.874, P<0.01). The changes of PAI-1 during weight reduction period were significantly correlated with the changes of FFA(r=0.889, P<0.01) and triglycerides(r=0.869, P<0.05). The changes of both leptin and AAI-1 during weight regain period were significantly correlated with the changes of insulin(r=0.755 and 0.849, P<0.05, respectively). In summary, these results suggest that serum levels of leptin and PAI-1 were affected by weight cycling, the percentages of change were more greater than that of weight change, and rebound phenomena were occurred during weight regain period.

      • 박막 크로멜-알루멜 열전퇴형 교류-직류 변환기

        A planar chromel-alumel multijunction ac-dc converter was fabricated on a LPCVD Si_(3)N_(4)/SiO_(2)/Si_(3)N_(4)-diaphragm, prepared by silicon bulk micromachining, which thermally isolated a bifilar evanohm-heater and the hot junctions of a chromel-alumel thermopile from the silicon substrate. The voltage responsivity, the ac-dc transfer error, and the fluctuation of the output thermoelectric voltage of the converter were investigated. The respective voltage responsivities in air and in a vacuum of the converter were about 3.16 mV/mW and 9.41 mV/mW. The ac-dc voltage and the current transfer errors in air were about ±1.5 ppm and ±0.7 ppm in a frequency range from 10 Hz to 10 kHz, respectively. The fluctuation of the output thermoelectric voltage from 5 seconds to 120 seconds after preheating in air for 5 seconds was about 0.06 % for a heater input of dc 1 V.

        Evaluation of the Anti-Tumor Effects of Paclitaxel-Encapsulated pH-Sensitive Micelles

        We evaluated the efficacy of pH-sensitive micelles, formed by methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly($\beta$)-amino ester) (PEG-PAE), as carriers for paclitaxel (PIX), a drug currently used to treat various cancers. PTX was successful encapsulated by a film hydration method. Micelles encapsulated more than 70% of the PTX and the size of the PTX-encapsulated micelles (PTX-PM) was less than 150 nm. In vitro experiments indicated that the micelles were unstable below pH 6.5. After encapsulation of PTX within the micelles, dynamic light scattering (DLS) studies indicated that low pH had a similar demicellization effect. An in vitro release study indicated that PTX was slowly released at pH 7.4 (normal body conditions) but rapidly released under weakly acidic conditions (pH 6.0). We demonstrated the safety of micelles from in vitro cytotoxicity tests on HeLa cells and the in vivo anti-tumor activity of PTX-PM in B16F 10 tumor-bearing mice. We concluded that these pH-sensitive micelles have potential as carriers for anti-cancer drugs.

      • Optimization of leaf water loss rate assay for rapid and stable drought tolerance screening in rice

        The global rice reduction due to drought averages 18 Mt, especially, 23 Mha of rice fields in Asia are drought-prone. However, rice breeding programs focusing on drought resistance have made little progress to date. Because proper screening approaches with large scale were not developed to evaluate the drought tolerant degree. In here, we have developed of leaf water loss rate with plastic ware in dark conditions for large screening. Through this bioassay system, we examined drought phenotype degrees of 650 rice varieties. To validate whether this optimized bioassay system is corelated with drought phenotype, we chose 14 varieties having the lowest or highest of the water loss rate. We observed the visual drought phenotype and agricultural traits in green house and field conditions. Apo and Samgang having the lowest of leaf water loss rate showed drought tolerance phenotype, whereas Yeolbaeg and Milyang254 having the highest of leaf water loss rate showed drought sensitive phenotype. Apo displayed proper root length trait and Samgang showed good root dry trait in the greenhouse conditions. These results suggest that a simple screening procedure with water lose rate of leaves is effective to perform large scale screening for drought phenotype in rice.
