Guanine aminohydrolase(EC 3.5.4.3, GAH) has been purified from human term placenta approximately 1,280-fold with a 10% yield by combination of ultracentrifuge, ammonium sulfate precipitate, Sephacryl S-300 chromatography, calcium phosphate gel adsorption, DEAEcellulose chromatography and hydroxyapatite chromatography, and then its properties were investigated. 1. The purified enzyme appeared single protein band by SDS/polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. 2. The enzyme showed a pH optimum around 5.6-8.6. It was heat labile, inactivated by heat-treatment for 10 minutes at 70℃, and irreversively denatured by freezing and was stable at 4℃ for at least 1 month. 3. Copper ion (Cu^2+) was a potent inhibitor, the activity being inhibited upto 75% at 2 mM concentraion and the inhibition was completely recovered its activity by additon of 4 mM EDTA, and zinc ion (Zn^2+ also inhibited upto 40% at 2 mM concentration. The other ions did not almost inhibit. 4. The apparent Km value for guanine was 4 X 10^-5M, and the enzyme activity was completely inhibited by 0. 5 mM of p-hydroxymercuribenzoic acid, but all of the activity was recovered in adding 10 mM mercaptoethanol. 5. The molecular weight of the enzyme showed 170,000 by Sephacryl S-300 chromatography, and 55,000 by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. And the properties such as above results of guanine aminohydrolase of human term placenta are compared with those of guanine aminohydrolase of other tissues.

In this study, the concept of teachers' and students' about the weight and pressure in water was compared and analyzed. The aim of this study is finding out how the concept of teachers' about the weight and pressure in water influences on the concept of students'. The results are as followings. 1. There's no statistically meaningful difference but it was found that when teacher has wrong concept, students in the class has the same wrong concept. And it was found that the more wrong concept teacher had, the more wrong concept the students in the class had. 2. It is difficult to say that the concept of teachers influences on that of students totally but partially. So before class, it is necessary that teachers' should understand and know exactly the concept which he or she want to teach. And after that, they should plan his or her class and do their class.
여수국가산업단지 인근 지역 대기오염물질 농도에 영향을 미치는 요인분석

Eight monitoring stations in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex will determine the concentration of air pollutants measured every hour in 2019, analyze what factors affect them, and how they correlate with the air pollutant measurements. Six air pollutants (SO2, NO2, O3, CO, PM-10 and PM-2.5) measured at eight monitoring stations around Yeosu National Industrial Complex (Seogang-dong, Wolnae-dong, Munsu-dong, Yeocheon-dong, Deokchung-dong, Hwayang-myeon, Yulchon-myeon, Samil-dong) the measurement data for each hour of the year were downloaded to analyze the concentration by weather condition, time zone, season, separation distance from Yeosu Industrial Complex, and separation distance from Gwangyang Industrial Complex. SO2, NO2, and CO concentrations were significantly higher in winter, significantly lower in summer, and O3, PM-10, and PM-2.5 concentrations were significantly higher in spring. SO2, CO, PM-10, and PM-2.5 concentrations were significantly higher between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., NO2 concentrations were significantly higher between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and O3 concentrations were significantly higher between 13 p.m. and 15 p.m.(p<0.001). The concentration of air pollutants (SO2, NO2, CO, PM-10, PM-2.5) excluding O3 was found to have a negative (-) correlation with weather condition, and in the case of O3, it was found to have a positive (+) correlation with PM-10, PM-2.5, temperature and wind speed. It was confirmed that the concentration of air pollutants emitted from the Yeosu National Industrial Complex differs depending on the season, time and distance to the industrial complex. This study aims to establish measures to minimize health damage to residents living relatively close to the industrial complex and contribute to the establishment of management and response measures according to the properties of substances to reduce the concentration of air pollutants in the future.

Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1997. 99 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 45(45.5%) were PPNG. Conclusion : The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 45.5% in 1997.
A Simple Timing-skew Calibration using Flip-flops for Time-interleaved ADCs

This paper presents a simple timing-skew calibration circuit for time-interleaved ADCs. At the core of the skew calibration scheme lies a pair of D flip-flops to detect the sign of the relative timing between a channel clock and the reference clocks. The D flip-flops form a latch structure to detect the sign of timing skew. The detected sign of the timing skew is accumulated by counters and used to control shunt-capacitor-inverter variable delay lines to adjust the timing of the channel clocks. Although this scheme cannot remove the skew from mismatches after the timing comparison point, it should be able to reduce the bulk of the timing skew. The performance of the calibration circuit implemented using a 28 nm CMOS technology was verified by post-layout simulations.

Beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua are difficult to control using chemical insecticides because of the development of insecticide resistance. For eco-friendly beet armyworm managements, various control agents are required. Entomopathogenic fungus is one of promise control agents as an alternative to chemical control agent. We isolated entomopathogenic fungi from soil samples of suwon by insect-bait method using Galleria mellonella and conducted bioassay to larva of beet armyworm. As a result of bioassay isolate FG274, FG340, FG344 had high virulence as 100% against second instar larva of S. exigua. To identify the fungus isolates, their’s morphological characteristic was observed and ITS of 18srRNA was sequenced. ITS sequence of FT274, 340, 344 were highly matched (100%) to that of Beauveria bassiana, Paecilomyces fumosoroseus, Metarhizium anisopliae. To investigate the optimal concentration, three isolates were sprayed at three different concentration(1×106 ,107 and 108 conidia/㎖) in laboratory conditions. 나타내었다.

<P>The aim of the present study was to determine the mechanisms through which 20-O-beta-D-glucopyranosy120(S)-protopanaxadiol (20GPPD) promotes the production of hyaluronic acid (HA) in human keratinocytes. 20GPPD is the primary bioactive metabolite of Rb1, a major ginsenoside found in ginseng (Panax ginseng). We sought to elucidate the underlying mechanisms behind the 20GPPD-induced production of HA. We found that 20GPPD induced an increase in HA production by elevating hyaluronan synthase 2 (HAS2) expression in human keratinocytes. The phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and Akt was also enhanced by 20GPPD in a dose-dependent manner. The pharmacological inhibition of ERK (using U0126) or Akt (using LY294002) suppressed the 20GPPD-induced expression of HAS2, whereas treatment with an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor (AG1478) or an intracellular Ca2+ chelator (BAPTA/AM) did not exert any observable effects. The increased Src phosphorylation was also confirmed following treatment with 20GPPD in the human keratinocytes. Following pre-treatment with the Src inhibitor, PP2, both HA production and HAS2 expression were attenuated. Furthermore, the 20GPPD-enhanced ERK and Akt signaling decreased following treatment with PP2. Taken together, our results suggest that Src kinase plays a critical role in the 20GPPD-induced production of HA by acting as an upstream modulator of ERK and Akt activity in human keratinocytes.</P>
