One of the promising methods to enhance the flexural strength of a externally prestressed girder is to place the tendons with large eccentricities. The analysis and design of composite girders prestressed by external tendons involve difficulties related mainly to the position of anchorages and the construction sequences. This study was conducted on the concrete bridges reinforced by the continuous girders and the external prestressing. The test results in this study showed that the external prestressing of a composite girder increased the range of the elastic behavior, reduced deflections, increased ultimate strength, and added to the redundancy by providing the multiple stress paths.
광대역 속도 영역에서의 유도 전동기의 직접 토오크 제어 방식에 관한 연구

The sliding mode control concept which is insensitive to parameter variation and load disturbance is applied in the outer loop a speed drive system utilizing a squirrel-cage induction motor. The response of direct torque control is slower during start-up and step change. FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is used for the implementation of DSC(Direct Self Control) to improve its slow response. The software realization of the proposed algorithms were implemented by TMS320C31 DSP and the effectiveness of controllers is demonstrated though experimental work.

This paper presents the development of standardized modules and an integrated program which will be used for social environmental education. The study objectives are to develop modules which are based on various environmental topics, to relate the regional environmental topics to the educational modules and program, and to include the demand of students in the modules and program. Literature and questionary surveys, as well as, module development method were utilized as research tools. The titles of developed modules are "The Green Plant Earth," "Unexpected Resources: Save Resources and Recycle", "Water as the Mother of All Lives", "The Blue Sky with Clean Air", and "Soil as the Home of All Living and Non-living Things". It is hoped that the developed modules and program are utilized as course materials and curriculum for social environmental education in various educational institutes. The study results will be materialized as multimedia in near futher.
사람의 비후성 반흔에서 면역조직화학기법에 의한 형질전환인자 알파와 표피성장인자 발현의 차이에 관한 면역조직화학적 연구

Background and Objectives: Transforming growth factor-α (TGF-α) and epidermal growth factor (EGF) are polypeptides which interact with the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) to produce their biological effects. The aim of the present investigation was to elucidate the immunolocalization of TGF-α and EGF in normal human skin, hypertrophic scar with skin graft on soft tissue defect, and postburn hypertrophic scar without graft. Methods: The data presented in this paper focused attention on differences of expression between two kinds of hypertrophic scars in relation to skin graft using immunohistochemistry. Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissues from 3 normal skin tissues, 3 hypertrophic scars after skin graft and 8 postburn hypertrophic scars without graft were immunolabelled with antibodies directed against TGF-α and EGF. Results: In normal epidermis of skin, strong TGF-α immunoreactivity (IR) was observed in all epidermal layers except the stratum (S.) basale, whereas EGF was immunopositive in a few cells over all epidermal layers. The staining for TGF-α was found in cell membrane, and EGF was seen either diffuse cytoplasmic or peripheral part of cells in normal epidermis. In hypertrophic scar after six months postoperation, TGF-α IR was observed in the upper part of S. spinosum and S. corneum, whereas EGF was diffusely expressed in the S. spinosum, also its intensity was slightly increased compared to normal skin. In hypertrophic scar without skin graft, very strong expression of EGF was detected in the S. spinosum and S. corneum, and intensity of EGF was increased when compared to normal skin and postoperative hypertrophic scar. EGF and TGF-α coexisted in the cells of S. spinosum in normal skin as well as hypertrophic scars. Double-labeled cells were increased in postburn hypertrophic scar compared to normal skin and postoperative hypertrophic scar. In addition, intensity of EGF and TGF-α double IR was the strongest in postburn hypertrophic scar. Conclusion: These results indicate that EGF may have a more complex regulatory role not only in the early stages of wound healing but also in hypertrophic scar.

To collect real-time link traffic information(Link Travel Time) for based on beacon and GPS technologies prove cars always have to be operate on the entire network. In this study, in case of taxi probe cars based with Beacon and GPS, method on determining required number of probe cars is studied to get traffic information of reality. Using taxis for probe cars, the the factors that influence the number of probe cars are operation time and distribution of prove cars over the network, operate distance and travel speed, the portion of revenue operation distance of taxis. The result of this study was ; As the collecting period for one traffic information prove cars travel more link, thus the number of prove cars decreases. The number of prove cars decreases when the allowable numer of links that no link travel times are collected increases.
선거 후보자간 TV 생방송 합동 토론 대화에서 사용되는 대화 전략에 대하여 : 이미지 관리 전략을 중심으로 Focusing on the Image Control Strategy

Generally speaking, the candidates on the live TV program, where the candidates get together to have a debate, use many kinds of conversational strategies and tactics. This paper aims to examine the most important conversational strategy, the image control strategies, in these kinds of environment. I will concretely analyze the tactics that are often used for image control strategies. A live-TV debate of candidates is very different not only from a casual conversation but also from general live TV policy debates, which consist of pros and cons on a specific subject. Thus, the participants of 'live TV debates of candidates' use different kinds of conversation strategies and tactics. In the case of a 'live TV debates of candidates', the most important strategy is 'the image control strategy'. All of the participants use many kinds of positive and negative tactics in order to build their positive self-image and to aggravate the image of the other party negatively. Largely, these tactics violate many principles and maxims of discourse observed in a casual conversation. This shows that the conversation itself has a strategic features. This study concretely analyzes and classifies image control strategies and the details of tactics by analyzing a real TV debates. In addition, we need to explain what kinds of details of tactics are more effective to achieve the goal of image control strategies here after.

Efficiency of bus arbitration scheme is modeled to analyze and compare five known arbitration protocols for single-bus multiprocessor system. The analytical model describes average access time as a measure of efficiency and takes resubmitted requests into account, amending contradiction of previous assumption that bus requests in each cycle are independent of those of previous cycles. The analytical results obtained from our model show that the efficiency of the equal priority protocol is as good as that of the rotating priority protocol.

Human embryonic stem cell research does not always fall within research involving human subjects, but has features that make it different from other researches involving human derived materials, for it has closely connected with embryo research, which can lead to the reproductive cloning, destruction of human embryos and forms of researches that generate chimeric animals. Therefore, it is of great importance to make the stem cell research overseen by another mechanism, which focuses exclusively on the stem cell research besides IRB. This paper examines two major guidelines for stem cell research published in recent years: the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Guidelines for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research (2007 Edition) and the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) Guidelines for the Conduct of Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research (2006). These two guidelines have provisions to the effect that additional oversight system is to be established. Stem cell research should be conducted without threatening social safety. And the additional oversight system provided by these guidelines can be a better way to this elusive end.
