가정독서환경과 자녀 독서 습관 사이의 관계 분석 = A Survey of the Relationship between Home Reading Environment and Children’s Reading Habits

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Until now, sufficient studies were not made about the relationship between home reading environment and children’s reading habits. Therefore this study aims to explore the relationship between home reading environment and children’s reading habits. The former involves parents’ physical and personal reading environment which affects the latter, children’s reading interest and attitudes. Two research questions were raised in order to conduct an effective study. First, How much does home physical reading environment have relation to children’s reading habits. Second, How much does home personal reading environment have relation to children’s reading habits. And research hypotheses pertinent to these questions were built up properly. Results from the verification of research hypotheses and the analysis of the most appropriate model are as in the following. First, parents’ physical reading environment related to reading doesn’t influence children’s reading interest. Second, home reading environment influences children’s reading attitudes. However, parents’ personal attitudes toward reading influence children’s reading behaviors more than home physical reading circumstances. Third, parents’ personal attitudes toward reading affect children’s reading interest which eventually exerts an influence on children’s reading attitudes. Forth, children’s reading interest bears strong relationship to their reading attitudes. It can be said that improving children’s reading interest is more important in order to enhance their reading attitudes.
