학부모 독서지도 프로그램이 아동의 독서활동에 미치는 영향 : 대전지역 공공도서관을 중심으로 = (A) study on effects of reading guidance program for parents in reading activities of children : focusing on public libraries in Taejon

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since children can form adequate personality during reading, it is prerequisite to make environments and atmospheres in home that may lead to reading habits by encouraging children to have interest in reading and improving their reading ability.
This study is designed to find that reading guidance program for parents produces effects on reading activities of children. To achieve the purpose, 520 pieces of Questionnaires and distributed to parents and children in Taejon. They are divided into two groups: those who participated in reading guidance program for parents in public library and those who did not. Items of Questionnaires include reading activities, reading environments, and reading guidance and reading habits, etc. Of 395 questionnaires collected, only useful 312 pieces are analyzed according to objective measurement.
The findings result in the following conclusions.
1. Children whose parents participated in reading guidance program for parents tend to have reading activities more in quantity than those whose parents did not.
2. It shows that parents participating in reading guidance program for parents usually help better reading environments than those who did not participate in it, influencing reading habits of children positively.
3. It finds that parents having reading guidance program for parents tend to apply reading guidance to children more effectively than parents who did not.
4. Most parents have recognized necessity of reading guidance of children and provided reading environments and atmospheres in home, irregardless of whether or not they have reading guidance program for parents.
Based on the above conclusions, I'd like to look at problem of reading guidance program and to make several suggestions.
Second, reading guidance program for parents has short training period and not good contents in attempting to guide children enough to meet their spiritual growth, together with physiological development.
Thus, to induce reading interest fit for each individual, and to establish reading habits by increasing reading ability, it requires expansion of training period to about 2 months(total 8-10weeks, 16-20hours)from the present 4-5weeks(total 8-10hours).
Also, it will help children build systematic reading guidance in home, by providing various degrees of reading guidance program for parents and making many parents participated in it via active ads through many media.
Third, it should be reading guidance program for parents reflecting characteristics of community, not uniform stereotyped program. So it needs development of effective program fit for community by each library to satisfy with desires of community populace.
Fourth, it is difficult condition to have many parents participate in reading guidance program for parents because of program rarity limited to several public libraries. It needs pan-national policy and budget support that all the public libraries can manage with program.
