Two-Phase Interleaved Bidirectional Converter Input-Parallel Output-Series Connection
Yuji Yamamoto,Taro Takiguchi,Takaharu Sato,Hirotaka Koizumi 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6
The interleaved bidirectional converter (IBC) has lower input current ripple and higher power conversion efficiency than the bidirectional chopper because of the current sharing operation. However, the step up/down ratio of the IBC is the same as that of the bidirectional chopper. As a converter with high step up ratio, the two-phase interleaved DC-DC converter with parallel-input seriesoutput connection (ICPS) is proposed. The ICPS realizes twice the step up ratio of the interleaved boost converter. Also, the ICPS has lower input ripple than the interleaved boost converter at the same step up ratio. This paper proposes bidirectional operation of the ICPS, which realizes the high step up/down ratio and the reduction of current ripple on the low voltage side. The proposed bidirectional operational principles and the steady-state analysis have been verified by simulation and circuit experiment.
Single Crystal Growth and Physical Properties of UT2Al20 (T=Transition Metal)
Yuji Matsumoto,Tatsuma D. Matsuda,Naoyuki Tateiwa,Etsuji Yamamoto,Yoshinori Haga,Zachary Fisk 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3
We have studied the single crystal growth and the physical properties of the UT2Al20 system. Wehave successfully grown UT2Al20 (T = Cr, Ti, W and Mo) using Al self flux and have characterizedthe crystals using electron probe microanalyzer (EPAM) and X-ray diffractometer. We have alsomeasured their magnetic and electric properties. The ground states of UT2Al20 (T = Cr, Mo andW ) are Pauli paramagnetic as is likely also in UTi2Al20. The effective masses of UCr2Al20 andUTi2Al20 are only weakly enhanced.

Study Design: Retrospective study. Purpose: To investigate the relationship between preoperative total spinal sagittal alignment and the early onset of adjacent segment degeneration (ASD) after single-level posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) in patients with normal sagittal spinal alignment. Overview of Literature: Postoperative early-onset ASD is one of the complications after L4–L5 PLIF, a common surgical procedure for lumbar degenerative disease in patents without severe sagittal imbalance. A better understanding of the preoperative characteristics of total spinal sagittal alignment associated with early-onset ASD could help prevent the condition. Methods: The study included 70 consecutive patients diagnosed with lumbar degenerative disease who underwent single-level L4–L5 PLIF between 2011 and 2015. They were divided into two groups based on the radiographic progression of L3–L4 degeneration after 1-year follow-up: the ASD and the non-ASD (NASD) group. The following radiographic parameters were preoperatively and postoperatively measured: sagittal vertebral axis (SVA), thoracic kyphosis (TK), lumbar lordosis, pelvic tilt, and pelvic incidence (PI). Results: Eight of the 70 patients (11%) experienced ASD after PLIF (three males and five females; age, 64.4±7.7 years). The NASD group comprised 20 males and 42 females (age, 67.7±9.3 years). Six patients of the ASD group showed decreased L3–L4 disc height, one had L3–L4 local kyphosis, and one showed both changes. Preoperative SVA, PI, and TK were significantly smaller in the ASD group than in the NASD group (p<0.05). Conclusions: A preoperative small SVA and TK with small PI were the characteristic alignments for the risk of early-onset ASD in patients without preoperative severe sagittal spinal imbalance undergoing L4–L5 single-level PLIF.
Collision-Avoidance Algorithm for Human-Symbiotic Robot
Yuji Hosoda,Kenjirou Yamamoto,Ryouko Ichinose,Saku Egawa,Junichi Tamamoto,Kouji Tsubouchi,Shinichi Yuta 제어로봇시스템학회 2010 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.10
A real-time collision-avoidance algorithm for human-symbiotic robots that are required to avoid multiple pedestrians was developed. An algorithm to predict the likelihood of a collision with obstacles was based on the relative velocities between a moving robot and multiple obstacles. An algorithm that can generate the optimum path sequence to a goal in real time was also developed. The collision-avoidance path is generated by repeating an operation to select two tangent paths that connect a via-point on a path to a collision circle of each obstacle that exists in the relative space. A robot-called EMIEW”-using these algorithms with a system for avoiding collisions with many obstacles moves at a speed of 0.8 m/s in a cluster of five people walking at 1.2 m/s. The repeat period for generating a new avoidance path is 0.5s, and the processing time for the developed algorithm in the each period is a maximum of 4 ms.

Purpose: Screening image-enhanced endoscopy for gastrointestinal malignant lesions has progressed. However, the influence of the color enhancement settings for the laser endoscopic system on the visibility of lesions with higher color contrast than their surrounding mucosa has not been established. Materials and Methods: Forty early gastric cancers were retrospectively evaluated using color enhancement settings C1 and C2 for laser endoscopic systems with blue laser imaging (BLI), BLI-bright, and linked color imaging (LCI). The visibilities of the malignant lesions in the stomach with the C1 and C2 color enhancements were scored by expert and non-expert endoscopists and compared, and the color differences between the malignant lesions and the surrounding mucosa were assessed. Results: Early gastric cancers mainly appeared orange-red on LCI and brown on BLI-bright or BLI. The surrounding mucosae were purple on LCI regardless of the color enhancement but brown or pale green with C1 enhancement and dark green with C2 enhancement on BLI-bright or BLI. The mean visibility scores for BLI-bright, BLI, and LCI with C2 enhancement were significantly higher than those with C1 enhancement. The superiority of the C2 enhancement was not demonstrated in the assessments by non-experts, but it was significant for experts using all modes. The C2 color enhancement produced a significantly greater color difference between the malignant lesions and the surrounding mucosa, especially with the use of BLI-bright (P=0.033) and BLI (P<0.001). C2 enhancement tended to be superior regardless of the morphological type, Helicobacter pylori status, or the extension of intestinal metaplasia around the cancer. Conclusions: Appropriate color enhancement settings improve the visibility of malignant lesions in the stomach and color contrast between the malignant lesions and the surrounding mucosa.

This presentation clarifies the relevance between qualifying technical education courses and career experiences in colleges, and the development of key vocational competencies and vocational values by students. This study was originally implemented as one part of the surveys within the framework of Prof. Terada’s research project. The analysis was made from longitudinal data (N=82) from students at two Japanese polytechnic colleges, based on responses in 2013 (freshmen) and 2016 (seniors). Many students had received vocational certificates before entering college, but the tendency had been reinforced since the first year in college. This influences the development of vocational key skills or vocational values. These situations were shown through factor analyses of variables for skills and values, analyses of variances on factor scales, and some career experience variables.
