Nucleus accumbens septi (NAB), one of mesolimbic system, which anatomically related the limbic system. We an attempted to elucidated emotional changes following bilateral NAB lesions in rats. Caudal, rostral and both areas of NAB were lesioned each in separated animal groups. Furthermore, aggressive behavior induced by NAB rats was investigated in comparison with those induced by olfactory bulbectomized rats and raphe nucleus-lesioned rats. 1) At postoperative day 2, locomotor activity were increased in r-NAB rats but not in c-NAB rats. 2) All rats exhibited hyperirritability and muricide including mouse-eating behavior after NAB lesions. 3) Muricide of NAB rats was significantly supressed by L-DOPA, L-5-HTP and antidepressants, muricide of raphe rats was also significantly inhibited by L-DOPA and L-5-HTP, while that in OB rats was not suppressed. These results suggested that the NAB plays an important role in locomotor activity and aggression. The characteristics of aggressive behavior induced by NAB rats resemble to that of raphe-rats.

<P>To better understand the distribution of three dimensional stress states in the Nankai subduction zone, southwest Japan, we review various stress-related investigations carried out in the first and second stage expeditions of the Nankai Trough Seismogenic Zone Experiment (NanTroSEIZE) by the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) and compile the stress data. Overall, the maximum principal stress sigma(l) in the shallower levels (<similar to 1 km) is vertical from near the center of forearc basin to near the trench and; the maximum horizontal stress S-Hmax (interpreted to be the intermediate principal stress sigma(2)) is generally parallel to the plate convergence vector. The exception to this generalization occurs along the shelf edge of the Nankai margin where S-Hmax, is along strike rather than parallel to the plate convergence vector. Reorientation of the principal stresses at deeper levels (e.g., >similar to 1 km below seafloor or in underlying accretionary prism) with sigma(1) becoming horizontal is also suggested at all deeper drilling sites. We also make a comparison of the stress state in the hanging wall of the frontal plate-interface between Site C0066 in the Nankai and Site C0019 in the Japan Trench subduction zone drilled after the 2011 Mw 9.0 Tohoku-Oki earthquake. In the Japan Trench, a comparison between stress state before and after the 2011 mega-earthquake shows that the stress changed from compression before the earthquake to extension after the earthquake. As a result of the comparison between the Nankai Trough and Japan Trench, a similar current stress state with trench parallel extension was recognized at both C0006 and C0019 sites. Hypothetically, this may indicate that in Nankai Trough it is still in an early stage of the interseismic cycle of a great earthquake which occurs on the decollement and propagates to the toe (around site C0006). Stag beetle fauna of Cambodia (Coleoptera: Lucanidae)
Maquart Pierre-Olivier,Yamamoto Shûhei,Sopha Sin,Chhorn Soksan,Phak Satha,Sinovas Pablo,Phauk Sophany,Boyer Sébastien 한국응용곤충학회 2023 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.26 No.1
To date, no species catalogue of stag beetles (Lucanidae) has been compiled for Cambodia. According to the available literature, we assembled the checklist based on the previously recorded and recognized Cambodian lucanid species in the country. In the present paper, we newly record four species from Cambodia: Falcicornis axisopsis (Séguy, 1954); Neolucanus similis Bomans & Ratti, 1976; Prosopocoilus suturalis (Olivier, 1789); and Prosopocoilus jenkinsi (Westwood, 1848). An updated checklist of the Cambodian stag beetles is given. The total number of the Cambodian lucanid species has now reached 29, but this species count is considerably less diverse than those in neighboring countries. Our study suggested that this poor diversity is not primarily due to biogeography or small country size but to a lack of research effort.
Purification and Properties of Bovine Skeletal Muscle Proteasome
Yamamoto, S.,Gerelt, B.,Nishiumi, T.,Suzuki, A. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2005 Animal Bioscience Vol.18 No.6
This paper describes the purification and properties of a multicatalytic proteinase complex, proteasome, from bovine skeletal muscle, in comparision with proteasome prepared from other species or organs. The purified bovine skeletal muscle proteasome exhibited a single band on polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis under nondenaturing conditions. Bovine skeletal muscle proteasome degraded synthetic peptides maximally at pH 8.0. Relative to pH 8.0, activities were gradually decreased with the lowering pH, but the extent of decrease was substrate-dependent, and the activity at pH 5.5 still retained 78-10% of the activity at pH 8.0, indicating the possibility that the proteasome is active in muscle during aging. When the proteasome was heated at 60$^{\circ}C$ for 15 or 30 min and treated in the presence of 0.0125% SDS, the activity increased over 1.8 and 3.1 times (LLVY (Suc-Leu-Leu-Val-Tyr-NH-Mec) as a substrate), respectively. These results (activation with heat or SDS) indicate that the hydrolytic activity of proteasome was stimulated under mild denaturing conditions. The characteristics of the bovine skeletal muscle proteasome obtained in our experiment were almost the same as those of the proteasome prepared from other species or organs.
Electronic state of MgB2 superconductor
S.Tajima,T.Masui,H.Uchiyama,J.W.Quilty,Yu.Eltsev,S.Lee,A.Yamamoto,H.Mori 한국물리학회 2002 Current Applied Physics Vol.2 No.4
Thanks to the high quality single crystals of MgB2, we have measured various physical properties to extract important features ofthe electronic state in this superconductor. The electron density maps calculated from a precise X-ray diraction analysis and theband dispersions determined by the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy demonstrate that the boron orbitals play a centraldicated in resistivity and Raman scattering spectra. Although the multi-band structure signicantly aects various normal stateproperties, no clear multi-gap feature can be observed in the Raman scattering spectra belowTc.. 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. GENETICAL STUDIES ON NATIVE CHICKENS IN INDONESIA
Yamamoto, Y.,Namikawa, T.,Okada, I.,Nishibori, M.,Mansjoer, S.S.,Martojo, H. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1996 Animal Bioscience Vol.9 No.4
Phylogenetic analyses were carried out using four Indonesian native chicken breeds; Kampung, Bangkok, Pelung and Kedu. Gene frequencies of four blood group (A, B, D and E) and eight electrophoretic loci (akp, Akp-2, Es-1, Amy-1, Alb, Tf, Pas and Pa-1) were examined. Geographical and breed specific trends in the gene frequencies were not found in the local population of Kampung breed or in four native breeds. The values of average heterozygosity were estimated as 0.35-0.45. Genetic distances among the local populations of Kampung breed and other native breeds were comparatively small. In a cluster analysis, the Bangkok breed and Kampung E population showed distance from another cluster. The coefficient of gene differentiation for local populations of Kampung breed was estimated as 0.099.
