        LncRNA A2M-AS1 lessens the injury of cardiomyocytes caused by hypoxia and reoxygenation via regulating IL1R2

        Background: Myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury (MI/RI) is a complex pathophysiological process, which can lead to severe myocardial injury. The long noncoding RNA alpha-2-macroglobulin antisense RNA 1 (A2M-AS1) has been revealed to be abnormally expressed in MI, However, its function in MI and the potential mechanism are still unclear. Objective: To evaluate the functional role of A2M-AS1 in hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced neonatal cardiomyocytes and its potential molecular mechanism. Methods: Dataset GSE66360 was obtained from GEO database for analyzing the RNA expression of A2M-AS1 and interleukin 1 receptor type 2 (IL1R2). KEGG pathway enrichment analysis of the genes that co-expressed with A2M-AS1 was performed. Human neonatal cardiomyocytes were subjected to H/R to construct in vitro models. QRT-PCR and Western blot were adopted to test the levels of mRNA and protein. The viability and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes were tested by CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays, respectively. Results: The expression of A2M-AS1 was notably downregulated in H/R-treated cardiomyocytes. Overexpression of A2M-AS1 can notably enhance the cell viability of H/R-damaged cardiomyocytes, whereas knockdown of A2M-AS1 showed the opposite outcomes. Besides, a negative correlation was showed between A2M-AS1 and IL1R2 expression. In H/R-treated cardiomyocytes, overexpression of IL1R2 weakened the promoting proliferation and anti-apoptosis effects caused by overexpressing A2M-AS1, however, IL1R2-knockdown abolished the anti-proliferation and pro-apoptosis effects caused by silencing A2M-AS1. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the potential regulatory role of A2M-AS1/ IL1R2 axis in cardiomyocytes suffered from H/R, and provides insight into the protection of MI/RI.

        This study discusses the influence of fineness of cement on mechanical properties of cement mortar. According to the result, compressive strength increases in order of C>B>OPC>A and C>B>A>OPC at mixture proportion of 1:1 and 1:3 respectively. An increase of compressive strength by increase of fineness of cement is because internal structure of concrete grows dense by an increase of hydration reaction. As for curing condition, compressive strength is higher in standard curing than in air curing at mixture proportion of 1:1 and 1:3. There is not any tendency of strength development with age and fineness of cement by 91days. Length change by drying shrinkage increases in order of C>B>OPC>A at mixture proportion of 1:1 and 1:3 due to an increase of water content by variation of W/C.

        In this paper, availability of deteriorated remicon due to delaying delivery time is discussed. According to test results, fluidity and air content of plain concrete exhibited a tendency to decline with a elapse of time. After 90 minutes since mixed, use of superplasticizer and AE admixture resulted in an increase in fluidity and air content. Adequate dosage of superplasticizer and AE adimixture is found to add with 0.4% and 0.002% respectively to restore the level of original slump and air content from loss one. Setting time of concrete exhibited an acceleration with an increase in leaving time of concrete. Compressive strength of plain concrete is enhanced with and increase of leaving time of concrete. Therefore, it is found that the use of superplasticizer with 0.4% and AE admixture with 0.002% has a desirable effect on restoring the deteriorated quality of concrete related to fluidity, air content and setting time without strength loss caused by delivery time delaying.

        Association between Higher Blood Pressure and Risk of Diabetes Mellitus in Middle-Aged and Elderly Chinese Adults

        Background: To examine the prospective association between higher blood pressure (BP) and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults. Methods: A total of 9,642 middle-aged and elderly Chinese adults (≥45 years old; 47.30% men) without diabetes from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study were included for analyses. Participants were categorized into three groups: normal BP, prehypertension, and hypertension, according to the 2010 Chinese Guidelines for the Management of Hypertension. The incidence of T2DM was determined by self-reported physician diagnosis during two follow-up surveys conducted in 2013 to 2014 and 2015 to 2016. Results: During the 4-year follow-up, 429 participants (4.45%) developed T2DM, including 3.51% of the men and 5.29% of the women. The incidence rates of T2DM were 2.57%, 3.75%, and 6.71% in the normal BP, prehypertension, and hypertension groups, respectively. After adjustment for age, sex, education level, residence, smoking status, alcohol consumption, body mass index, waist circumference, and dyslipidemia, both prehypertension (odds ratio [OR], 1.32; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.98 to 1.77) and hypertension (OR, 2.02; 95% CI, 1.54 to 2.64) were associated with increased risk of T2DM, compared to those with a normal BP. The ORs associated with T2DM were 1.08 (95% CI, 1.03 to 1.13) for an increase of 10 mm Hg in systolic BP and 1.06 (95% CI, 1.01 to 1.10) for an increase of 5 mm Hg in diastolic BP. Conclusion: Higher BP is a risk factor for T2DM in middle-aged and elderly Chines. It may be a potential target for diabetes prevention.

        <P>Solution-processed organic solar cells (OSCs) have been attracting more and more attention for a series of well-known advantages, and power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of over 11% have been reported. However, the highest PCE of the OSCs based on small molecule donor/polymer acceptor blends is only 4.82%, which was much lower than those of other types of OSCs due to weak absorption of the polymer acceptor and the unbalanced charge carrier mobility of the small molecule donor and the polymer acceptor. Here, we fabricated small molecule donor/polymer acceptor-based OSCs using the wide bandgap SM1 and DR3TBDTT as the small molecular donor and the low-bandgap n-type conjugated polymer PZ1 as the polymer acceptor. With the treatment of a solvent additive, which can promote the absorption intensity, enhance the carrier mobility and suppress the charge carrier recombination, the SM1-based devices and the DR3TBDTT-based devices show PCEs of 3.97% and 5.86%, respectively. It is worth mentioning that the PCE of 5.86% is the state-of-the-art efficiency for OSCs based on the small molecular donor/polymer acceptor system.</P>

      • Stability Analysis of Baishuihe Landslide Considering Spatial Variability of Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity

        Spatial variability of saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) in accumulative landslide exists and affects the saturated-unsaturated seepage characteristic. It is important to carry out the stability analysis of landslide considering spatial variability of Ks. Spatial distribution characteristics of Ks in Baishuihe landslide obtained by the surface nuclear magnetic resonance technology (SNMR) are investigated using the geostatistics. The non-stationary random field of Ks and the non-intrusive stochastic finite element process are established. On this basis, numerical simulations of the uncertain model and deterministic model under reservoir water fluctuation are carried out to study their seepage-deformation and stability characteristics. The results show that: compared with the deterministic model, the change of the pore pressure of the uncertain model is more lagged and more obvious during the reservoir water filling period; the overall displacement of the uncertain model is larger than the deterministic model under reservoir water drawdown; with the increase of reservoir water deceleration, the pore pressure hysteresis of uncertain model is more obvious, where displacement deformation is larger and stability is smaller. Stability analysis shows that ignoring the spatial variability of Ks will overestimate the stability of the landslide.

      • Point Stabilization of Full-actuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle in Polar Coordinates

        It is addressed that the point stabilization of the full-actuated autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The system model is established in polar coordinates and the designing methods of kinematic controller are obtained. The polar coordinates are applied to avoid Brockett’s conditions. The kinematic controller is extended to dynamic controller based on Lyapunov methods and backstepping techniques. The controller is designed to ensure that the full-actuated AUV asymptotically converges to the target point. Simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

      • Delay-dependent H∞ Control for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

        This paper deals with the problem of delay-dependent H∞ control for AUV system with external disturbance. A delay-dependent H∞ control criteria is obtained and formulated in the form of LMI. It is obtained through Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach and an integral inequality. Simulation example shows that the proposed method is effective.

        Downregulation of EHT1 and EEB1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae Alters the Ester Profile of Wine during Fermentation

        EHT1 and EEB1 are the key Saccharomyces cerevisiae genes involved in the synthesis of ethyl esters during wine fermentation. We constructed single (Δeht1, Δeeb1) and double (Δeht1Δeeb1) heterogenous mutant strains of the industrial diploid wine yeast EC1118 by disrupting one allele of EHT1 and/or EEB1. In addition, the aromatic profile of wine produced during fermentation of simulated grape juice by these mutant strains was also analyzed. The expression levels of EHT1 and/or EEB1 in the relevant mutants were less than 50% of the wild-type strain when grown in YPD medium and simulated grape juice medium. Compared to the wild-type strain, all mutants produced lower amounts of ethyl esters in the fermented grape juice and also resulted in distinct ethyl ester profiles. ATF2, a gene involved in acetate ester synthesis, was expressed at higher levels in the EEB1 downregulation mutants compared to the wild-type and Δeht1 strains during fermentation, which was consistent with the content of acetate esters. In addition, the production of higher alcohols was also markedly affected by the decrease in EEB1 levels. Compared to EHT1, EEB1 downregulation had a greater impact on the production of acetate esters and higher alcohols, suggesting that controlling EEB1 expression could be an effective means to regulate the content of these aromatic metabolites in wine. Taken together, the synthesis of ethyl esters can be decreased by deleting one allele of EHT1 and EEB1 in the diploid EC1118 strain, which may modify the ester profile of wine more subtly compared to the complete deletion of target genes.
