A number of 1,5-diarylimidazoles has been synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activities of COX-2 catalyzed PGE2 production. 1,5-Diarylimidazoles were obtained from imimes and p- toluenesulfonylmethyl cyanide (TosMIC). Imines were prepared from commercially available amines and aldehydes. Among the compounds tested, 1-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-5-(4- methylsulfonylphenyl)imidazole (2r) showed strong inhibitory activity, however, most diarylimidazoles exhibited little to low inhibitory activities against COX-2 catalyzed PGE2 production.

Synthesis and iNOS Inhibitory Activities of Thioflavones

A number of thioflavones has been synthesized and evaluated for their iNOS inhibitory activities. Thiowogonin (6) was obtained from naturally occurring chrysin in 5 steps. Other thioflavones were prepared from the corresponding flavones in a single step by the reaction with Lawesson’s reagent. The biological activities of thioflavones were not enhanced by the functional group conversion from carbonyl to thiocarbonyl. Compounds 11 and 13 showed potent NO inhibitory activity at high concentration (40 uM), leading to the possible development of novel neuroprotective agents based on wogonin.

Chrysin analogs with 2-heteroaryl groups were synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activities against PGE2 and NO production from LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells. Chrysin analogs were synthesized from 2-hydroxy-4,6- dimethoxy-acetophenone and heteroaryl aldehydes in 3 steps. The tested chrysin analogs showed decreased inhibitory activity against PGE2 and NO production than those of chrysin.

The vocational guidance and advising education enrollment are one of the most important tasks in the enrollment process and promote the quality and reputation of the University. Admissions counseling offices at Universities and Colleges play a major role in vocational guidance and advising education enrollment. However, the support of these units is limited by office hours, speed and advisory efficiency, and besides, handling and answering questions process may also encounter obstacles such as: overload, misinformation, problem with the transmission, language barriers, expressions, limited time, support resources,… Thus we decided to do research to understand this situation. Then creating a dataset supports vocational guidance and advising education enrollment activities. We also design and integrate chatbot into the school system to support the admissions counseling process.

Cordyceps militaris, a caterpillar-grown traditional medicinal mushroom, produces important bioactive compounds, cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine) and militarin. Militarin is reported to possess anticancer activities against several tumor cells. An efficient synthetic method of militarin was developed to prepare muti-gram scale sample for bioassay. Militarin was successfully synthesized from commercial starting materials in 5 steps and 29.3% overall yields.
