        '근원적 다양성(多樣性)'으로 본 '접힘(Fold)의 건축' : 피터 아이젠만, 그렉 린, 다니엘 리베스킨드의 이론과 작품 비교 중심으로 In particular reference to the comparative study of Peter Eisenman, Greg Lynn, and Daniel Lebeskind

        The theoretical framework of "Folding in Architecture" has been generally regarded as the expression of the French philosopher, Gilles Deleuze's idea of the "fold" or pli, originally from the characteristics of Leibniz's philosophy. However, actual works toward this architectural tendency are fundamentally different from Deleuze's ontological thinking. Because these were primarily fabricated as formal theme by architects always searching for the meaning of "fold" as only tangible attribute. Thus, this paper attempts to point out that controversial issue, and suggest a new meaning of "Folding in Architecture", which is truely based on Deleuze's broad meaning of the "fold" registered both as a material phenomenon and as a metaphysical Idea, that can overcome the fallacy of those contemporary architects.

        The theoretical framework of Deconstructivist Architecture has been generally regarded as a presentation of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida's critical thinking since it first appeared in 1980's. However, actual works of this architectural trend are quite different from his thinking because these were primarily affected by literary critics of American Deconstructuion, rather than his philosophical direction. Therefore, this paper attempts to point out that controversial issue, and suggest a new meaning of Deconstructivist Architecture, which is truly based on Derrida's idea of 'Openness and Practicality of Text' and can overcome the fallacy of American Deconstruction.

      • 전형적인 DISIDA scan 소견의 Rotor 증후군 1예

        만성의 비용혈성 직접형 고빌리루빈혈증은 Rotor 증후군과 Dubin-Johnson 증후군의 특징적인 소견으로, Rotor 증후군은 드문 양성 유전성 질환이며, Dubin-Johnson 증후군과 감별을 필요로 한다. 본 저자들은 황달을 주소로 내원한 26세 남자 환자에서 고빌리루빈혈증에 대한 검사를 시행하여 담도폐쇄 소견없이 간담도 스캔상 전형적인 Rotor 증후군의 소견 즉, 강한 심장 배후방사능이 지속되면서, 간담도계의 조영은 지연 촬영에서도 관찰되지 않으며 신장으로의 배설이 계속 관찰되는 특징적인 소견과 정상 간조직 검사 결과로 Rotor 증후군으로 진단한 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Chronic nonhemolytic conjugated hyperbilirubinemia characterizes both Rotor and Dubin-Johnson syndromes. Rotor syndrome is a rare, benign familial disorder and needs to be differentiated from Dubin-Johnson syndrome. Cholescintigraphy is a simple and informative procedure for the diagnosis, which can differentiate Rotor syndrome from Dubin-Johnson syndrome. A 26-year-old man was admitted due to asymptomatic persistent jaundice. Physical examination revealed icteric sclera without hepatosplenomegaly. Laboratory findings showed increased serum bilirubin with direct bilirubinemia. Markedly decreased hepatic uptake and poor visualization of the gallbladder and biliary tract were shown in ^(99m)Tc-DISIDA scan. Histology of the liver showed no diagnostic abnormality without pigmentation. But, we report a case of Rotor syndrome that showed characteristic cholescintigraphic findings with normal urinary total coproporphyrin excretion.

      • 대도시와 중소도시 여성의 골다공증에 대한 인식도

        As average lifespan in human increased, women's concerns about health promotion after postmenopause are increased. Osteoporosis causes the serious health problem in postmenopausal women. We investigated comparison between Seoul and Chungju for women's recognition about osteoporosis to utilize patient's education data. Information, concerning whether the osteoporosis was well understood, were gather 405 patients, who visited an university hospital from January 1 to April 30, 2001. The mean age of 201 women in Seoul is 46.39 years old, and mean age of 204 in Chungju is 46.35 years old. Among 201 women in Seoul, 43(21.4%) women answered "well known" osteoporosis, and 32(15.9%) women answered "unknown" osteoporosis. Among 204 women in Chungju, 24(11.8%) women answered "well known" osteoporosis, and 32(15.9%) women answered "unknown" osteoporosis. There were significant association between recognition of osteoporosis and their education level, but not significant related with their economic level. Subjective and objective recognition for osteoporosis in Seoul was relatively higher than women in Chungju, but compliance about doctor in Chungju was relatively higher than women in Seoul. But we found that recognition level of postmenopausal osteoporosis is low in Seoul and Chungju. We concluded that knowledge for osteoporosis was relatively low, seoul was relatively higher than in Chungju. Therefore, correct patient education for prevention and treatment of osteoporosis would be needed.

        Context in architecture cannot be intentionally conceptualized and reduced to materialness but rather ‘the virtual of context' that has been flowing and changing continuously. Because it is not so much the representation by habitual memory as the presentation that truly means the creation. Therefore, this paper investigate into a new direction of contemporary architecture in terms of actualizing true meaning of context through Deleuze and Guattari's idea of ‘Corps sans Organes' that has the character opened to all directions and making creativity; ‘the plan of consistence'.

        Participation of $K_{ATP}$ Channels in the Antinociceptive Effect of Pregabalin in Rat Formalin Test

        Background: Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant and analgesic agent that interacts selectively with the voltage-sensitive-$Ca^{2+}$-channel alpha-2-delta subunit. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the analgesic action of intrathecal (IT) pregabalin is associated with KATP channels in the rat formalin test. Methods: IT PE-10 catheters were implanted in male Sprague-Dawley rats (250.300 g) under inhalation anesthesia using enflurane. Nociceptive behavior was defined as the number of hind paw flinches during 60 min after formalin injection. Ten min before formalin injection, IT drug treatments were divided into 3 groups: normal saline (NS) $20\;{\mu}l$ (CON group); pregabalin 0.3, 1, 3 and $10\;{\mu}g$ in NS $10\;{\mu}l$ (PGB group); glibenclamide $100\;{\mu}g$ in DMSO $5\;{\mu}l$ with pregabalin 0.3, 1, 3 and $10\;{\mu}g$ in NS $5\;{\mu}l$ (GBC group). All the drugs were flushed with NS $10\;{\mu}l$. Immunohistochemistry for the $K_{ATP}$ channel was done with a different set of rats divided into naive, NS and PGB groups. Results: IT pregabalin dose-dependently decreased the flinching number only in phase 2 of formalin test. The log dose response curve of the GBC group shifted to the right with respect to that of the PGB group. Immunohistochemistry for the $K_{ATP}$ channel expression on the spinal cord dorsal horn showed no difference among the groups 1 hr after the formalin test. Conclusions: The antinociceptive effect of pregabalin in the rat formalin test was associated with the activation of the $K_{ATP}$ channel. However, pregabalin did not induce $K_{ATP}$ channel expression in the spinal cord dorsal horn.

        Clinical Research Article : Effect of various anesthetic induction agents on blood magnesium and calcium concentration

        Background: Decrease in blood magnesium and calcium concentration is associated with an increase in the incidence of arrhythmia, especially during the induction period. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the effects of propofol, pentothal sodium, and sevoflurane on calcium and magnesium concentration. Methods: Thirty-six premedicated, ASA gradeⅠpatients were selected and randomly allocated into 3 groups. Six percent sevoflurane inhalation (sevo group), propofol 1.5 mg/kg (propofol group), and 5 mg/kg of pentothal sodium (pento group) were administered for anesthetic induction and anesthetic maintenance was done with end-tidal sevoflurane concentration at 3.5%. Blood sampling was performed during the pre-induction period (pre-induction), just before tracheal intubation (pre-intubation), and 2 min after intubation (post-intubation). pH corrected ionized magnesium and calcium were calculated and analyzed simultaneously. Results: Both total calcium and magnesium concentrations decreased significantly in all groups during the pre-intubation and post-intubation periods compared with the pre-induction period. Ionized calcium only decreased significantly during pre-intubation and post-intubation in the pento group, and did not change throughout the study period in the sevo and propofol groups. Ionized magnesium did not change throughout the study period in any of the groups. pH corrected ionized calcium decreased significantly only at post-intubation in the pento group. Conclusions: All anesthetic induction agents administered in this study can be used safely in terms of magnesium-associated arrhythmia. However, ionized calcium concentration decreased in the pento group, but all values were within normal limits. This finding indicated that it is safe to use propofol, pentothal sodium, and sevoflurane for anesthetic induction. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2009; 56: 254~8)

        Detection of Mycobacterium kansasii Using DNA-DNA Hybridization with rpoB Probe

        A microtiter well plate DNA hybridization method using Mycobacterium kansasii-specific rpoB DNA probe (kanp) were evaluated for the detection of M. kansasii from culture isolates. Among the 201 isolates tested by this method, 27 strains show positive results for M. kansasii, but the other 174 isolates were negative results for M. kansasii. This result was consistent with partial rpoB sequence analysis of M. kansasii and the result of biochemical tests. The negative strains by this DNA-DNA hybridization method were identified as Mycobacterium tuberculosis (159 strains), Mycobacterium avim (5 strains), Mycobacterium intracellulare (8 strains), and Mycobacterium flavescens (2 strain) by rpoB DNA sequence analysis. Due to high sensitivity and specificity of this test result, we suggest that DNA-DNA hybridization method using rpoB DNA probes of M. kansasii could be used for the rapid and convenient detection of M. kansasii.
