한국 성서학의 공간적 전환을 위한 “장소” 이론의 가능성과 한계

안용성(Yong Sung Ahn) 한국기독교학회 2013 한국기독교신학논총 Vol.85 No.-

This paper attempts to examine and facilitate the “spatial turn” in Korean biblical studies through the dialogue with four biblical scholars (Yong-won Suh, Jung-Sik Cha, Jong Locke Lee, and Yong-Sung Ahn) who have utilized the geographical theory of ``place``. The term ``place`` has become central within the academic circle of North American Geography during the end of 1970s and the beginning of 1980s primarily through humanistic geographers, including Yi-Fu Tuan and Edward Relph. In Short, place is a meaningful location, a space to which people render meaning, attached in one way or another. Place is differentiated with space, which is supposed to be ``out there`` as a pre-existing and immovable grid. In this study, I summarized geographers` discussions on place, both what could be called “classical” and “alternative” views, and carefully investigated how the four scholars draw on the theory for their own biblical interpretation, before making some suggestions for ongoing discussion of spatial turn. The Korean scholars share an alternative view of place, distinguished from the classical, in which the alternative view does neither romanticize place as home nor stick on the division between the inside and the outside (Cha). This view acknowledges that there are more than one way of sense of place, including identifying with, identifying against, and not-identifying with place (Suh). Also, in the alternative view, place is not necessarily related with people`s identity and with dwelling, but defined as constructed out of the multiplicity of social relations (Ahn). The theory has been used in the biblical interpretations, as an ideological thrust of placeness (Cha), as a view of textual analysis (Suh), and as a methodology of exploring biblical narratives (Ahn). Finally, I proposed how the place theory can be useful for biblical interpretation in several ways.

Quantitative analysis of aberrant protein glycosylation in liver cancer plasma by AAL-enrichment and MRM mass spectrometry

Ahn, Yeong Hee,Shin, Park Min,Kim, Yong-Sam,Oh, Na Ree,Ji, Eun Sun,Kim, Kwang Hoe,Lee, Yeon Jung,Kim, Sung Ho,Yoo, Jong Shin The Royal Society of Chemistry 2013 The Analyst Vol.138 No.21

<P>A lectin-coupled mass spectrometry (MS) approach was employed to quantitatively monitor aberrant protein glycosylation in liver cancer plasma. To do this, we compared the difference in the total protein abundance of a target glycoprotein between hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) plasmas and hepatitis B virus (HBV) plasmas, as well as the difference in lectin-specific protein glycoform abundance of the target glycoprotein. Capturing the lectin-specific protein glycoforms from a plasma sample was accomplished by using a fucose-specific aleuria aurantia lectin (AAL) immobilized onto magnetic beads <I>via</I> a biotin–streptavidin conjugate. Following tryptic digestion of both the total plasma and its AAL-captured fraction of each HCC and HBV sample, targeted proteomic mass spectrometry was conducted quantitatively by a multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) technique. From the MRM-based analysis of the total plasmas and AAL-captured fractions, differences between HCC and HBV plasma groups in fucosylated glycoform levels of target glycoproteins were confirmed to arise from both the change in the total protein abundance of the target proteins and the change incurred by aberrant fucosylation on target glycoproteins in HCC plasma, even when no significant change occurs in the total protein abundance level. Combining the MRM-based analysis method with the lectin-capturing technique proved to be a successful means of quantitatively investigating aberrant protein glycosylation in cancer plasma samples. Additionally, it was elucidated that the differences between HCC and control groups in fucosylated biomarker candidates A1AT and FETUA mainly originated from an increase in fucosylation levels on these target glycoproteins, rather than an increase in the total protein abundance of the target glycoproteins.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>The origins of increased abundance of fucosylated A1AT and FETUA in HCC plasmas were elucidated using AAL-capturing and MRM-based analysis. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c3an01126g'> </P>

      • Association between treatments of psoriasis with severe infectious diseases and malignancies : a nationwide cohort study in Korea

( Sung Min Kim ),( Young Ah Cho ),( Ji Su Lee ),( Ji Youn Hong ),( Jin Hee Kim ),( Joo Ran Hong ),( Hye In Cheon ),( Yang Won Lee ),( Yong Beom Choe ),( Kyu Joong Ahn ) 대한피부과학회 2020 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.72 No.1

Background: There are various treatment options of psoriasis, including phototherapy, systemic oral agents and, recently, biologics. These therapies include immune regulation, so it is necessary to confirm the risk of malignancy and infections. Objectives: To evaluate the risk of malignancies and hospitalized infectious disease (HID) in patients with psoriasis by treatments, comparing with general population (GP). Methods: The study population consisted of 159,423 patients for malignancies and 272,475 patients for HID during 2005 to 2018 from the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS). Adjusted hazard ratios (aHRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of mild (ML), phototherapy (PH), oral systemics (OR) and biologics (BI) cohort were evaluated. Results: For HID, the results (aHRs; CIs) were ML (1.12; 1.11-1.14), PH (1.05; 1.00-1.09), OR (1.19; 1.15-1.24) and BI (0.85; 0.62-1.17). For tuberculosis (Tb), a particular infectious disease, the results (aHRs; CIs) were ML (1.11; 1.06-1.16), PH (1.11; 0.96-1.28), OR (1.21; 1.08-1.36) and BI (8.83; 6.62-12.5). For malignancies, the results (aHRs; CIs) were ML (1.12; 1.10-1.15), PH (1.20; 1.12-1.29), OR (1.15; 1.08-1.21) and BI (1.47; 0.93-2.43). Conclusion: Patients with psoriasis showed a significantly higher risk of malignancies and HID than GP. Biologics were not seemed to be a significant risk factor for these diseases, but appeared to increase the risk of Tb. Therefore, in choosing a treatment for psoriasis, these risks should be considered.

      • HBV : The Impact of rtA181T Mutation in Hepatitis B Virus Polymerase on Drug Resistance Differs by the Overlapping Mutations in Surface Gene

( Sung Hyun Ahn ),( Eun Sook Park ),( Yong Kwang Park ),( Jeong Han Kim ),( Doo Hyun Kim ),( Keo Heun Lim ),( Won Hyeok Choe ),( Soon Young Ko ),( So Young Kwon ),( Kyun Hwan Kim ) 대한간학회 2013 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2013 No.1

Background: Emergence of drug-resistant hepatitis B virus (HBV) against the nucleos(t)ide analogues (NA) is a major problem for antiviral treatment in chronic hepatitis B patients. In this study, we analyzed the evolution of drug-resistant mutations and characterized the effects of rtA181T and rtI233V mutations on viral replication and drug-resistance. Methods: We performed a clonal analysis of the HBV polymerase gene from serum samples during viral breakthrough treated with lamivudine (LMV) and adefovir (ADV). Representative mutants were analyzed for in vitro drug susceptibility by southern blot. We constructed a series of mutant clones and determined the ability of replication and drug resistance. Results: Conserved mutations in rt204, rt181, rt236, and rt233 were identified during the viral breakthrough. In vitro study revealed that the effect of rtA181T mutation on viral replication and drug resistance is dependent on the mutations in overlapping surface gene. The rtA181T mutant harboring surface stop (rtA181T/sW172*) showed a decrease in viral replication and increase in drug resistance compared to the rtA181T mutant harboring surface mutation (rtA181T/sW172S). Moreover, the rtA181T/sW172* mutant exhibited a secretion defect of viral particles. The rtI233V mutation which emerged during ADV therapy reduced the viral replication and conferred resistance to ADV. However, the rtI233V mutation did not affect the viral replication and drug resistance of rtA181T/sW172* mutant. Conclusions: Our data suggest that the impact of rtA181T mutation on drug resistance is different according to the mutation status in corresponding surface gene. The rtI233V mutation affects the replication ability and drug resistance. Our observation suggests the need of genotypic analysis of overlapping surface gene to manage the antiviral drug resistance if clinical isolates harbor rtA181T mutation.

      • Self-Assembly Change by Gold Nanoparticle Growth

Ahn, Sungsook,Jung, Sung Yong,Lee, Sang Joon American Chemical Society 2011 The Journal of Physical Chemistry Part C Vol.115 No.45

<P>Inorganic nanoparticles in the self-assembled organic/biological templates are of great interest in nanoparticle-mediated therapy, biosafety, and hybrid functional material design for photonic devices. The gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) grown in situ in the aqueous solutions/hydrogels of amphiphilic polymers significantly influence the radius of gyration (<I>R</I>g), correlation length (ζ), fractal dimension (α), and structure-dependent specific sizes. As a result of selective wetting by gold ion aqueous solution, the grown AuNPs are expected to locate in the hydrophilic domain of the self-assembly structures, which leads to the prominent changes in the size and the structures accordingly. The increase in the surfactant number (<I>N</I>s) of the self-assembled template is suggested to decrease the effective surface area (<I>A</I>s) (i.e., decrease in the mean curvature) on which smaller AuNPs are preferably formed. There is a strong correlation between the self-assembled template structure and the formed nanoparticles.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jpccck/2011/jpccck.2011.115.issue-45/jp2085523/production/images/medium/jp-2011-085523_0003.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/jp2085523'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

Hydroxycinnamic Acids in <i>Crepidiastrum denticulatum</i> Protect Oxidative Stress-Induced Retinal Damage

Ahn, Hong Ryul,Lee, Hee Ju,Kim, Kyung-A,Kim, Chul Young,Nho, Chu Won,Jang, Holim,Pan, Cheol-Ho,Lee, Chang Yong,Jung, Sang Hoon American Chemical Society 2014 Journal of agricultural and food chemistry Vol.62 No.6

<P>We investigated the effects of an ethanol extract of <I>C. denticulatum</I> (EECD) in a mouse model of glaucoma established by optic nerve crush (ONC), and found that EECD significantly protected against retinal ganglion cell (RGC) death caused by ONC. Furthermore, EECD effectively protected against <I>N</I>-methyl-<SMALL>d</SMALL>-aspartate-induced damage to the rat retinas. <I>In vitro</I>, EECD attenuated transformed retinal ganglion cell (RGC-5) death and significantly blunted the up-regulation of apoptotic proteins and mRNA level induced by 1-buthionine-(<I>S</I>,<I>R</I>)-sulfoximine combined with glutamate, reduced reactive oxygen species production by radical species, and inhibited lipid peroxidation. The major EECD components were found to be chicoric acid and 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (3,5-DCQA) that have shown beneficial effects on retinal degeneration both <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> studies. Thus, EECD could be used as a natural neuroprotective agent for glaucoma, and chicoric acid and 3,5-DCQA as mark compounds for the development of functional food.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jafcau/2014/jafcau.2014.62.issue-6/jf4046232/production/images/medium/jf-2013-046232_0012.gif'></P>

Prediction and Interpretation of Hydraulic Permeability for Nonwoven Fabrics Considering Hypothetical 2-D Layer

        Ahn, Seung Jae,Lee, Moo Sung,Lim, Dae Young,Im, Jung Nam,Lee, Seung Goo,Youk, Ji Ho,Jeon, Han-Yong 한국섬유공학회 2013 FIBERS AND POLYMERS Vol.14 No.12

The permeability defined by Darcy's law indicates the degree of ability that a fluid can flow through nonwoven media under a differential pressure in laminar flow. The permeability generally indicates the specific permeability or absolute permeability. On the other hand, if the fluid is water, the permeability indicates the hydraulic conductivity or permeability coefficient. The permeability is one of the important properties for nonwoven media and a prediction of the permeability acts as a bridge between the manufacturing technology and performance requirements. Because capillary channel theory aims to make the flow of fluid easier and more understandable, many models are based on capillary channel theory. On the other hand, the theory has a limitation in that it is unsuitable for high porosity media. In this study, a very thin downstream layer, which was suggested by Lifshutz [9], was introduced to derive a prediction model of hydraulic permeability. Needle-punched and spunbonded nonwoven fabrics with various basis weights were used in the cross-plain water permeability test. From this 'thin layer' model, reasonable agreement between the predicted and experimental results was obtained.
