We have examined the purgative effect of three Jechun-jun formulas in sprague dawley(SD) rat. Three jechun-jun formulas were Jechun-jun(Sample I ) and augmented Jechun-jun(Sample II) and augmented Jechun-jun add rhubarb(sample III ). We examined the amount and the humidity of feces in rat. The experimental animals were devided into four groups. as control group and three Jechun-jun (sample I, II, III). We administerd the water extract of sample I, II, III to rat per oral for 8days long. After every 24hours measured the amount of wet feces from rats in metabolic cage. Humidity rate of feces from rat was at first measure wet feces for 24hours (W) and measure dried feces (W1) and then we consider W-W1 as humidity. High humidity rate means constipation changes into moistening stool. The amount of wet feces and humidity rate of feces in rats were increased in sample I, II, III. Sample I has highest humidity rate of feces. so showed strong moistening effect. Sample II has mild effect in treating constipation. sample III has most amount of wet feces. in conclusion Jechun-jun has an effect of moistening stool. and augmented Jechun-jun add rhubarb has strong purgative effect.
Soil Physico-chemical Properties by Land Use of Anthropogenic Soils Dredged from River Basins
Jun-Hong Park,Sang-Jo Park,Jong-Gun Won,Suk-Hee Lee,Dong-Hwan Seo,So-Deuk Park 한국토양비료학회 2016 한국토양비료학회지 Vol.49 No.4
This study was conducted to analyze soil physico-chemical properties of agricultural land composed from the river-bed sediments. We investigated the changes of soil physico-chemical properties at 30 different sampling sites containing paddy, upland and plastic film house from 2012 to 2015. pH, exchangeable calcium and magnesium decreased gradually in paddy soils during the four years, whereas the available P₂O5, exchangeable Ca, Mg and EC increased in upland and plastic film house soil. For the soil physical properties, bulk density and hardness of topsoil were 1.47 g cm-3 and 21.5 mm and those of subsoil were 1.71 g cm-3 and 25.7 mm in paddy soils. In upland soils, bulk density and hardness of topsoil were 1.48 g cm-3 and 15.9 mm and those of subsoil were 1.55 g cm-3 and 16.9 mm. In plastic film house soils, bulk density and hardness of topsoil were 1.42 g cm-3 and 14.4 mm and those of subsoil were 1.40 g cm-3 and 18.5 mm, respectively. The penetration hardness was higher than 3 MPa below soil depth 20 cm, and it is impossible to measure below soil depth 50 cm. As these results, in agricultural anthropogenic soils dredged from river basins, the pH, amount of organic matter and exchangeable cations decreased and soil physical properties also deteriorated with time. Therefore, it is needed to apply more organic matters and suitable amount of fertilizer and improve the soil physical properties by cultivating green manure crops, deep tillage, and reversal of deep soils.

Autochthonous hepatitis E virus (HEV) is an emerging pathogen in developed countries, and several cases of acute HEV infection have been reported in South Korea. However, there have been no reports on HEV-associated Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) in Korea. We recently experienced the case of a 58-year-old Korean male with acute HEV infection after ingesting raw deer meat. Persistent cholestasis was resolved by the administration of prednisolone. At 2.5 months after the clinical presentation of HEV infection, the patient developed weakness of the lower limbs, and was diagnosed with GBS associated with acute hepatitis E. To our knowledge, this is the second report on supportive steroid therapy for persistent cholestasis due to hepatitis E, and the first report of GBS in a Korean patient with acute HEV infection. Successive 24 snow samples, collected from a 1.2m snow pit at a site on the summit of Main Dome in King George Island, Antarctic Peninsula, were measured for heavy metals such as Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn and other chemical species. The mean concentrations of heavy metals are 3.48pg/g for Pb, 0.10pg/g for Cd, 16.6 pg/g for Cu and 15.8 pg/g for Zn, respectively. Pb and Cd concentrations observed in our samples are very comparable to those reported for recent snow at other Antarctic sites, while Zn and Cu levels are much higher than those at other sites. The annual fallout fluxes of all heavy metals approximately calculated are, however, much greater in King George Island than at other sites. With respect to the estimates of natural contributions, sea salt spray is found to be a major contributor to Cd and Zn inputs to the snow and minor to Cu inputs. On the other hand, the anthropogenic input can account for a large part of Pb concentrations. A tentative estimate represents that local emissions could be responsible for more than half of the excess Pb flux to the snow in King George Island.
Magnetic properties of epitaxial Fe/MgO/InAs(001) thin films
Hong Jo, Jeong,Kim, Kyung-Ho,Kim, Hyung-jun,Chang, Joonyeon,Ho Lim, Sang American Institute of Physics 2014 Journal of Applied Physics Vol.115 No.17
The magnetic properties of epitaxial Fe/MgO/InAs(001) thin films are examined, both experimentally and theoretically, and magnetic parameters are extracted by comparing an experimental hysteresis loop with a theoretical one calculated using a total energy equation. Out-of-plane hysteresis loops, measured along various magnetic field directions, indicate the formation of the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy at 30 degrees from the normal of the film plane. The strength of the first-order cubic magnetocrystalline anisotropy is determined to be 6 x 10(4) erg/cm(3), which is an order of magnitude weaker than that of bulk Fe, probably because of a large lattice mismatch between Fe and MgO (similar to 4.2%). The strength of the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy (9.6 x 10(4) erg/cm(3)) is on the same order of magnitude as that of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy. The parameters extracted from the out-of-plane hysteresis loop are then used to calculate the remanence ratios of in-plane hysteresis loops along various magnetic field directions. Good agreement is observed between the two sets of results, indicating the reliability of the extracted parameters. (C) 2014 AIP Publishing LLC.
Biological control of Botrytis cinerea on tomato using antagonistic bacteria
Sung-Jun Hong,Yong-Ki Kim,Hyeong-Jin Jee,Jong-Ho Park,Eun-Jung Han,Nan-Hee An,Jung-Hyun Kim,Hyung-Jin Goo 한국유기농업학회 2011 韓國有機農業學會誌 Vol.19 No.S
Botrytis cinerea infects stems and leaves of greenhouse tomatoes and can cause serious economic losses. This study was conducted to develop environment-friendly control method against tomato gray mold. Antagonistic microorganisms (bacteria) were screened for control activity against Botrytis cinerea, both in vitro and in vivo, using stem sections. One hundred bacterial strains were isolated from the rhizospheric soil of various plants including tomato. These strains were screened for growth inhibition of Botrytis cinerea on agar plate by the dual culture and thirty strains showing strongly inhibitory effect against the pathogen were selected first. Among thirty strains, JB 5-12, JB 22-2, JB 22-3, U 4-8 and U46-6 reduced significantly disease incidence, when applied simultaneously with the pathogen. These results suggested that five antagonistic bacteria strains selected have the potential to control tomato gray mold in organic farming.
