        교정치료에 따른 미맹출 하악 제3대구치의 위치 변화에 관한 연구

        임상교정에서의 원활한 치아배열을 도모하기 위하여 진단과 치료계획의 수립 방향에 따라 제1소구치 혹은 제2소구치 발치 또는 제2대구치 발치 또는 비발치로 치료가 진행된다. 이때 나타나는 하악제3대구치의 위치적 변화 특히 근원심, 협설측 경사도의 변화도를 알아보고자 163명의 교정환자 (비발치군 77례, 제1소구치 발거군 78례, 제2대구치 발거군 8례)의 치료전후 Pantomogram상을 분석하였다. 결과적으로 하악 제2대구치 발거군에서 치료전후 근원심 경사도의 변화가 컸으며, 하악 제3대구치의 초기 근심 경사도는 치료 전후의 근심경사도와 높은 상관성을 보였으며, 치료전후의 근심경사도 변화량과도 높은 상관성을 보였다. 비발치군과 제1소구치 발거군에서 치료전후의 협설경사도 변화의 차이가 인정되었다. 치료전후의 협설경사도 변화는 치료전의 협설 경사도, 치료후의 협설경사도, 치료후의 근심경사도, 치료전후의 근심경사도 변화량과 높은 상관성을 보였다. Most of orthodontic cases are treated with extraction of certain teeth, which influence the pre-eruptive movement of the lower third molar, The purpose of this study was to evaluate the positional change of lower third molar following orthodontic treatment. Pre- and post-treatment pantomograms of 163 orthodontic patients (77 nonextraction group, 78 first premolar-extraction group, 8 second molar-extraction group) were analyzed in terms of the mesidistal and buccolingual angles of lower third molar. The results were as follows. 1. The change of the mesiodistal angle of lower third molar by orthodontic treatment was significant in second molar-extraction group. 2. The mesiodistal angle of lower third molar in pre-treatment was significantly correlated to the mesiodistal angle in post-treatment and/or the change of the mesiodistal angle by treatment. 3. The change of the buccolingual angle of lower third molar by treatment was significant in non-extraction group or first premolar-extrction group. 4. The change of the buccolingual angle of lower third molar by treatment was significantly correlated to the mesiodistal angle in post-treatment, the change of the mesiodistal angle by treatment, the buccolingual angle in pre-treatment or the buccolingual angle in post-treatment.

Le syste`me de l' ECU. comme moyen de paiement europe´en, et comme l' exemple de la future monnaie commune ou unique est analyse´ dans ses aspects divers.       • DO,BOD농도 예측을 위한 인공신경망 이론의 적용

        최근 하천에서의 BOD, DO 해석뿐만 아니라 질소, 인 등의 영향을 고려한 부영양화 해석, 시간변동성을 고려한 비정상 수질해석, 2차원 및 다차원 수질해석, 수질에 대한 불확실도 해석 등 다양한 수질모의가 사회적으로 요구되고 있는 시점이다. 그러나, 수질 농도의 예측은 비선형적이고, 시변성이며 공간적으로 분포되어 있는 많은 어려움을 수반하고 있다. 본 연구는 영산강 유역의 중류부 대표지점이며 동시에 수질관리 대상지점인 나주지점을 선정하여 비선형적인 수질의 농도의 변화에 대한 모형을 개발하였다. 그 방법으로는 수계 내의 물리적ㆍ화학적ㆍ생물학적 반응 과정을 나타내지 않으면서 시행착오방법(trial and error method)으로 적절한 입력변수를 선택하여 인공신경 망의 역 전파학습알고리즘을 이용하여 DO와 BOD 수질농도에 대한 비선형 모형을 개발하였다. 그 결과 수질항목간의 상관계수는 0.850를 상회하고 있으며, 검증과정에서의 상관계수는 DO, BOD 각각 0.870, 0.887로 나타났다. 이는 수질보전정책 수립을 위한 기초 자료뿐만 아니라 하천의 치수 및 이수, 하천환경에 관련된 계획의 수립과 그에 따르는 운영 및 관리에 효율성을 더할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다. Resently various water quality simulations such as BOD, DO analysis at river, eutrophication analysis considering the effect of N, P, nonsteady water quality analysis considering time variation, two dimensional or multi dimensional water quality analysis, and uncertainty analysis of water quality etc. are needed by society. But the prediction of water quality concentration is difficult because of nonlinear, nonsteadiness, and spacial distribution. This research developed the model for nonlinear change of water quality density selecting Naju district, the representative district of Youngsan river and also the target district for water-purity. This model selected suitable input variable by trial and error method not showing physical, chemical, and biological reaction in river system and developed the nonlinear model for water quality concentration of DO and BOD using Back-propagation of artificial neural network. The correlation coefficient of each water quality item exceed 0.850 and DO is 0.870, BOD is 0.887. Conclusively this result will add to not only the basic data to establish the policy of water quality preservation but also the efficiency of the management following the establishment of the river environmental plan.

        배추의 형질전환용 선발항생제로서 Paromomycin의 이용

        정상' 배추와 '서울' 배추의 배축절편을 선발마커로서 hygromycin 저항성유전자를 갖고 있는 pCAMBIA1301와 paromomycin저항성유전자를 갖고 있는 pPTN290으로 각각 형질 전환된 LBA4404 또는 EHA101균주와 공동배양한 후 선발배지에서 배양하면서 형질전환체를 선발하였다. 형질전환빈도는 사용된 항생제와 품종에 따라서 현저하게 차이가 있었으며, 특히 paromomycin은 hygromycin보다 효과적이었고 정상 배추는 서울배추보다 양호하였다. 가장 높은 형질전환빈도는 (0.70%) 100mg/L paromomycin이 첨가된 선발배지에서 정상배추의배축을 배양할 경우 얻어졌다. GUS양성반응으로 확인 한 결과 정상배추에서 9개체와 서울배추에서 3개체를 각각 얻었으며, 온실에서 생장한 후 $T_1$종자를 수확하였다. $T_1$ 종자를 다시 발아시켜 유식물체를 얻은 후 GUS양성반응을 확인함으로서 외래유전자가 안정적으로 발현하고 있음을 확인하였다. Hypocotyl explants of Chinese cabbage (us. 'Jeong Sang' and 'Seoul') produced adventitious shoots on Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium supplemented with 4mg/L $AgNO_3$, 5 mg/L acetosyringone, 4 mg/L 6-benzyladenine and 3mg/L alpha-naphthaleneacetic acid (SI) after cocoultivation with strains of Agrobacterium tumefaciens (LBA4404) harboring the pCAMBIA1301 and the $_PPTN290$ containing hygromycin-resistance gene and paromomycin-resistance gene as a selectable marker genes, respectively. There was a significant difference in the frequency of transgenic plants depending on antibiotics and cultivars used. Paromomycin was better than hygromycin, and cultivar 'Jeong-sang' was higher than 'c.v. Seoul' in the frequency of transgenic plants. In particular, the highest frequency (0.70%) of transgenic plants was obtained from selection medium (SI) containing 100mg/L paromomycin in c.v., 'Jeong-sang' GUS positive response were obtained 9 plants and 3 plants from the cultivars, 'Jeong-sang' and 'Seoul', respectively. They were grown to maturity in a greenhouse and normally produced $T_1$ seeds. GUS histochemical assay for progeny $(T_1)$ revealed that the transgenes were expressed in the plant genome.

        Impact of chronologic age in the elderly with gastric cancer

        Purpose: Although the incidence of gastric cancer has declined in the general population, it is the second most frequent cause of death due to malignancy in the world with its incidence in the elderly increasing as a result of increased life expectancy. This present study tried to find the optimal treatment for patients aged 75 years or older with gastric cancer through comparison of the clinicopathological characteristics, surgical outcomes, and identifying prognostic factors of survival. Methods: Elderly patients who underwent gastric resection for gastric cancer from January, 1999 to February, 2009 (n = 470) were divided into two groups: very elderly patients, 75 years or older (n = 95), and younger elderly patients, between 65 and 74 years old (n = 365). Results: Distinct characteristics of very elderly patients included more frequent underlying disease, deeper invasion, and more frequent lymph node metastasis. There were significant differences in overall survival between the two groups at stages Ⅲ-B and Ⅳ. However, postoperative hospital stays, postoperative morbidity, mortality and early stage did not differ between curatively resected patients in the two groups. Conclusion: Due to improved postoperative care, gastrectomy of gastric cancer is the treatment of choice in very elderly patients. Therefore, early diagnosis through regular medical screening and curative gastrectomy with lymph node dissection should be performed in very elderly gastric cancer patients.

        Current status of robotic surgery for pancreatic tumors

        Robotic pancreatectomy, which has received attention in recent years, is subdivided into robotic distal pancreatectomy and robotic pancreatoduodenectomy. Benign and borderline malignant pancreatic tumors can be treated with robotic pancreatectomy, which has several advantages inherent to robotic surgery. The indications for robotic pancreatectomy are similar to those of laparoscopic pancreatectomy, and there are no absolute contraindications. The perioperative outcomes of robotic pancreatectomy are comparable to those of open or laparoscopic pancreatectomy. A high spleen preservation rate, low intraoperative blood loss, and a low open conversion rate are advantages of robotic pancreatectomy. Although robotic pancreatectomy is possible for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, appropriate case selection is required, and more research is needed.

        Identification of Osteogenic Purmorphamine Derivatives.

        <P>During embryonic and cancer development, the Hedgehog family of proteins, including Sonic Hedgehog, play an important role by relieving the inhibition of Smo by Ptc, thus activating the Smo signaling cascade. Recently, a purine compound, purmorphamine, has been reported to target the Hedgehog signaling pathway by interacting with Smo. Interestingly, both Sonic Hedgehog and purmorphamine were found to promote the osteogenic differentiation of mouse chondroprogenitor cells. However, there is insufficient information as to how the activation of this seemingly unrelated signaling pathway, either by Sonic Hedgehog or purmorphamine, contributes to osteogenesis. Using alkaline phosphatase assays, we screened 125 purmorphamine derivatives from the Korea Chemical Bank for effects on the differentiation of preosteoblast C2C12 cells. Here, we report that two purine derivatives modulate ALP activity as well as the expression of genes whose expression is known or suggested to be involved in osteogenesis.</P>
