      • Through the voices of male teachers in South Korea: The journey to becoming an early childhood teacher

        This study examined male teachers’ identities and experiences as early childhood teachers in South Korea. Three South Korean participants, Donghun, Gijun, and Minsu (pseudonyms) were purposefully selected and engaged in individual semi- structured interviews lasting about an hour and a half. Findings in this study indicated that entering into the female-dominated profession of early childhood education is an uneasily constrained and cultural process for them. They were estranged from the people around them, including family, as soon as they committed to becoming early childhood teachers. They also faced challenges in their new profession in developing relationships with adults such as peer teachers and parents, as well as with their students. Frequently, they experienced the social expectation of early childhood education as “women’s work.” This study showed that the self-making of male early childhood teachers in South Korea is both internalized and externalized as a dialectic identity in a cultural context.

        메타포 분석을 활용한 한·중 유아교사의 에듀테크에 대한 인식

        본 연구는 한 · 중 유아교사의 에듀테크에 대한 인식을 메타포 분석 방법을 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 한 · 중의 유아교육기관에 근무하는 교사 140명의 응답을 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 한 · 중 유아교사의 에듀테크 인식에 대한 메타포 범주로 ‘미래교육의 방향성’, ‘가까이 머물러 있는 교육 방식’, ‘양면적 성격을 지닌 교육 기술’, ‘교육 개선을 위한 조력자’가 공통적으로 나타났다. 또한 서로 다른 메타포 범주로 한국은 ‘아직은 풀어나가야 할 교육적 과제’ 범주가 나타났고 중국은 ‘필수적인 교육 수단’ 범주가 나타났다. 이는 에듀테크 관련 기술 및 정책에서 중국이 한국보다 조금 더 앞서 있고 방식과 목표에서도 차이가 있는 현상과 연관된다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 한 · 중 유아교사의 에듀테크에 대한 인식을 탐색 및 비교함으로써 각국 유아교육현장에서의 에듀테크 도입과 활용 및 향후 발전 가능성에 대한 시사점에 대해 논의하였다. In this study, the awareness of Korean and Chinese early childhood teachers about edutech was conducted through a metaphor analysis method. For this purpose, 140 teachers in Korea and Chinese kindergarten were sampled, and data were collected through a questionnaire survey. The main research results are as the following. First, as the common metaphor categories regarding Korean and Chinese early childhood teachers’ awareness of edutech, ‘diection of the future education’, ‘eductional methods staying close’, ‘educational techniques with a two-suded cgaracterustuc’, and ‘an assistant for the improvement of education’ appeared. Moreover, as a metaphor category different from one another, the category of ‘an educational task to be solved’ appeared in Korea, and that of ‘a necessary educational tool’ appeared in China. It can be seen to be related to the phenomenon that China is ahead of Korea with the phenomenon that China has more advanced technologies and policies related to edutech than Korea and that they have different methods and goals. In this study, the Korean early childhood teachers’ awareness of educltech was examined and compared with that of Chinese early childhood teachers, through which, the introduction of edutech to the early childhood education fields of each country, its application and the implications of the future possibility of its development were discussed.

        상호작용 활성화를 위한 온라인 협업 교육 도구 활용 방안 연구

        The purpose of this study is to utilize online collaborative education tools for the interaction between learner-instructor, learner-learner-instructor, and content-learner-instructor. Prior to this, as a survey result of instructors’ perception of online collaboration education tools, it was found that the recognition and utilization of collaboration education tools were low. The use of online collaborative education tools was proposed according to the interaction target. In the instructor-learner interaction, the use of Jamboard, Mentimeter, QuizN, Google docs, and Flipgrid was presented. Through learner-learner-instructor interaction, the use of Google Slide, Gather.town, Ifland and Paddlet, QuizN, and Flipgrid was presented. The last, a plan to utilize Kahoot, QuizN and Ifland was proposed as a content-learner-instructor interaction. (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies)

        보육컨설팅의 의미와 실천 방향 탐색

        Objective: The researchers aimed to explore the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of childcare consulting. This study was focused on finding out how child care teachers perceived the process of implementing childcare consulting and their thoughts about the transformation of childcare consulting based on their participating experience. Methods: This study was based on the transverse-continuous design using qualitative research methodology. The participants were eight experienced childcare teachers that were childcare consulting in 2015 or 2020. The data were collected through in-depth interviews. Results: The main findings in exploring meanings and implications of childcare consulting were as follows. First, childcare consulting was recognized as a process of learning about changes through mutual relationships. Second, the different ways to practice childcare consulting, the formation of the learning culture of an organization to help experience collective intelligence, the process of finding various solutions through mutual communication, and the improvement of childcare teachers professional capabilities while reflecting the current times and context were all investigated. Conclusion/Implications: Given the findings of the study, the importance of childcare consulting, and the ways to establish its systems were discussed.

      • 의사결정시스템을 적용한 공공디자인사업 수행 프로세스 제안

        국민 생활수준과 문화의 발전에 따라 사회 전반에 걸쳐 공공 영역에 대한 질적인 선진화가 요구되어 공공디자인사업이 적극적으로 펼쳐지고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 공공디자인에 대한 정확한 인식이 부족한 상황으로 체계적인 디자인사업의 수행과정에 많은 한계를 드러내고 있다. 특히, 공공디자인은 ‘공공’이라는 불특정 다수를 대상으로 하고 있으므로 디자인품질을 확보하기 위하여 다양한 이해관계자들의 의견을 합리적으로 반영하여 실현하는 프로세스의 구축이 필요하다. 그러나 아직까지는 다양한 이해관계자로 구성된 추진주체의 의사결정의 과정에 관해서는 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 보다 효율적인 공공디자인사업의 실행을 위하여 이론적 고찰과 설문을 통해 공공디자인사업 프로세스를 분석하여 문제점을 제시하고 이를 극복하기 위하여 의사결정 시스템을 적용하여 보완된 프로세스를 제안하였다. 결과적으로 공공디자인사업 프로세스는 기획 단계, 실행준비 단계, 디자인 개발·실행 단계, 평가 및 유지관리 단계의 4단계와 하부 16단계의 세부 실행과정으로 제시할 수 있으며 특히, 사업 초기과정인 기획단계에서 공식적 협의를 통한 세부 디자인의 관리과정의 설정은 추후 발생 가능한 다양한 문제점을 제어할 수 있을 것이다. With higher living quality of people and cultural development, as qualitative advancement in the public sector is needed, more public design projects have been attracted. However, as the precise recognition about public design has not been settled in Korea, many limitations in the administrative performance of design projects have been exposed. In particular, as public design targets an unspecified percentage of the general public, to secure quality in design, a process which reasonably reflects and realizes the opinions of persons interested should be developed. However, there has only been a little research on the process of decision-making by the subjects of projects which are composed of persons of different interests. Therefore, this study aimed to analyse problems in the public design project process through theoretical examination and interview using a questionnaire for efficient performance of public design projects, and to propose a more effective project process using a decision-making system as an effective alternative to solving the problems. In conclusion, the public design project process proposed is composed of four steps of planning, preparation, development& execution, and evaluation&maintenance, and sixteen sub-steps, and in particular, development of management process for a specific design through negotiation at the planning stage can control further problems.

        임신기 부부의 태아 관련 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 변인

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between fetus-related pregnancy stress and temperament, parenting attitude, parent-fetal attachment, and marital quality. Respondents were 285 pregnant women and their spouses who participated in Pregnant Education Programs. Data was collected by means of questionnaire. The results are summarized as follows: The total fetus-related pregnancy stress level of pregnant couples demonstrated a higher relationship while parent-fetal attachment level demonstrated a very significant relationship. There were significant differences between spouses with regard to fetus-related pregnancy stress, parenting attitude, parent-fetal attachment, and marital quality.

        Higher energy consumption in the evening is associated with increased odds of obesity and metabolic syndrome: findings from the 2016-2018 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (7th KNHANES)

        OBJECTIVES: Chrono-nutrition emphasizes meal timing in preventing obesity and metabolic disorders. This study explores the impact of temporal dietary patterns (TDPs) on obesity and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in Korean adults aged 20 years to 65 years. METHODS: We utilized dynamic time warping method and Kernel k-means clustering to investigate diet quality and the odds ratios (ORs) of obesity and MetS with different TDPs using data from the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. RESULTS: Participants were divided into three groups based on relative energy intake over 24 hours. After adjusting for age and gender, Cluster 3 (with the highest proportion of energy intake in the evening) had the lowest Healthy Eating Index scores compared to other clusters. Following adjustment for key covariates, Cluster 3 showed the highest values for body mass index, waist circumference, blood pressure, total cholesterol, and triglycerides. Compared to Cluster 1 (with a lower proportion of energy intake in the evening), Cluster 2 and Cluster 3 had ORs for obesity of 1.12 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.97 to 1.30) and 1.19 (95% CI, 1.03 to 1.37), respectively. For MetS, the ORs were 1.26 (95% CI, 1.08 to 1.48) and 1.37 (95% CI, 1.17 to 1.61) when comparing Cluster 2 and Cluster 3 to Cluster 1. CONCLUSIONS: This study reveals that individuals with higher energy intake in the evening have increased odds of obesity and MetS, even after adjusting for major covariates, including age and total energy intake.
