        Fast Search with Data-Oriented Multi-Index Hashing for Multimedia Data

        Multi-index hashing (MIH) is the state-of-the-art method for indexing binary codes, as it di-vides long codes into substrings and builds multiple hash tables. However, MIH is based on the dataset codes uniform distribution assumption, and will lose efficiency in dealing with non-uniformly distributed codes. Besides, there are lots of results sharing the same Hamming distance to a query, which makes the distance measure ambiguous. In this paper, we propose a data-oriented multi-index hashing method (DOMIH). We first compute the covariance ma-trix of bits and learn adaptive projection vector for each binary substring. Instead of using substrings as direct indices into hash tables, we project them with corresponding projection vectors to generate new indices. With adaptive projection, the indices in each hash table are near uniformly distributed. Then with covariance matrix, we propose a ranking method for the binary codes. By assigning different bit-level weights to different bits, the returned bina-ry codes are ranked at a finer-grained binary code level. Experiments conducted on reference large scale datasets show that compared to MIH the time performance of DOMIH can be improved by 36.9%-87.4%, and the search accuracy can be improved by 22.2%. To pinpoint the potential of DOMIH, we further use near-duplicate image retrieval as examples to show the applications and the good performance of our method.

      • 신경망 기반의 동적 파라미터들을 이용한 음성 경계 추출

        본 논문에서는 음성인식 성능을 높이기 위한 기본적 단계인 음성과 비음성 부분의 경계를 추출하는 음성 경계 추출 방법을 제안한다. 음성경제 추출을 위한 특징들로는 시간영역 분할 파라미터인 ZCR, MA를 사용하고 주파수 영역 분할 파라미터로 주파수 대역 파워 에너지 (Frequency band power energy), 포만트 계수 (Formant coefficient)를 사용하였고 각 파라미터들을 이용하여 응성 경계를 결정할 때 경험에 의해 임계치를 결정하는 단점을 보안하기 위해서 신경망을 이용한다. 신경망의 가중치와 임계치들은 지도 학습을 통해 최적화 되고, 학습을 통해 구성된 망을 음성과 비음성의 경계치 구분에 사용한다.

      • 多樣한 黃芩藥鍼製劑의 安全性 및 效能에 關한 硏究

        In order to detect the safety and effect of various aqua-acupunctures from Scutellariae Radix, the modifications of boiling, filtration and dilution were employed for the manufacture of aqua-acupunctures. We injected 0.2cc of aqua-acupunctures into Joksamri(足三里) of rat, repeatedly. we compared subacute toxicity of them with saline group, distilled water(D.W.) group, acupuncture group and control group. The results were summarized as follows: 1. The groups were all healthy and alive, and there was no special abnormality in physical condition and autopsy. And there were not any toxic symptoms in repeating application of aqua-acupunctures to the rat, including changes of body weight, organ weight, haematological examination and serum biochemical test. 2. There was slight change of body weight in acupuncture group : We could see significance after 3 days (p<0.05) and after 7 days (p<0.001) in body weight loss. After 9 days, all tested groups were suppressed in body weight increment. 3. Result of organ weight: In Palking aqua-acupuncture(D-2 group), saline group and acupuncture group there were some statistical significance. Especially, acupuncture group revealed significant result in liver and spleen than aqua-acupunctures. From this result, we could suggest that the efficacy of acupuncture was preceded herbal medicine. 4. In serum biochemical test, we examined glucose(GLU), triglyceride(TG) and cholesterol(CHOL). In comparison with control group, the diluted 10 times of hwanggum aqua-acupuncture (× 10 group) was recognized significant decrease of glucose, but the diluted 100 times of Hwanggum aqua-acupuncture (× 100 group), D-2 group, saline group were confirmed significant increment. There was not any meaningful change of CHOL in all of tested group, excepting the acupuncture group was exhibited statistically significant decrease(p<0.05). In TG level all tested group except complex injection of standard compound (CPA group) and HG, there were significant value in statistically. The diluted solution was more significant decrease than Hwanggaum aqua-acupuncture(HG). The mutual relationship of components of aqua-acupuncture tended to decrease level of TG, regardless of its concentration. In acupuncture group, we gained some interesting result in meaningful decrease in TG. 5. Haematological examination showed significant increment of gramulocytes(GR) in all tested groups except Hwanggum aqua-acupuncture. And the diluted solutions of HG expressed very high increment of them(p<0.001). The GR and Mean Corpuscular Volume(MCV) of acupuncture group showed statistical significance.

      • β-naphthol 유도체 합성 및 항종양활성 검토

        Sythesis of β-naphthol derivatives and their anti-tumor activity were investigated. Binaphthol 1 obtained from β-naphthol by oxidative C-C bond formation(phenoloxydation) was converted into its derivatives. Treatment of 1 with POCl_3 followed by aziridine introduction gave phosphoryl aziridine 3. Also, diaziridine 5 was obtained from 1 by chlorination and successive aziridine introdution. Typical chemical transformation of 1 to obtain ester-type afforded compound 7 and 8. Compound 5 was the most effective derivative of the tested compounds on their anti-tumor activity.

        최근 몇 년간 유비쿼터스 서비스를 구현하기 위한 핵심 기술 중 하나인 무선 센서 네트워크에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 무선 센서 네트워크 기술은 물류, 유통, 환경 감시, 홈오토메이션, 군사 분야 등 다양한 분야에 적용 될 수 있기 때문에 앞으로 관련 분야의 시장 또한 커질 것으로 예상되고 있다 [1]. 무선 센서 네트워크는 기존 유선 센서 네트워크나 무선 네트워크 환경과는 많은 차이를 가진다. 우선 극도로 제한된 시스템 자원만을 가질 수 있으며, 열악한 환경 속에서 무선매체를 통해 유기적으로 동작하여야 하는 특징을 가지고 있다. 적게는 수십 개에서 많게는 수백, 수천 개의 자율적인 하드웨어 노드들로 구성되는 무선 센서 네트워크에서 제한된 자원을 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서는 센서 노드에 적합한 운영체제가 필수적으로 요구된다. 지난 몇 년간 센서 노드하드웨어의 발달과 더불어 많은 센서 네트워크용 초소형 운영체제가 개발되어왔다. 현재 많이 알려져 있는 센서 네트워크용 OS로는, 가장 활발한 참여를 보이고 있는 TinyOS[3]부터 SOS[4], MANTIS[5], Contiki[6], T-kernel[7] 등이 있으며, 국내 기술로 개발된 Nano-Qplus[8] 등이 존재한다. 본고에서는 우선 센서 네트워크에 대한 배경 지식과 플랫폼 등에 대한 내용을 간단히 다루고, 본론에서 센서 네트워크용 운영체제가 가져야 할 조건과 현재 개발되어 있는 센서 네트워크 OS들의 특징에 대해 간략히 살펴보도록 하겠다. 또한 센서 네트워크 OS와 밀접한 연관성을 가지는 분야에 대해 간단히 살펴보고, 마지막으로 앞으로의 방향에 대해 알아본다.고려해 볼 때 atlas의 장축의 시계방향 회전은 액티베이터의 사용 효과로 생각되며, 이는 차후 II급 부정교합자에서 액티베이터 치료 효과를 판단하는 또 하나의 지표가 될 수 있다고 생각한다.인해 한반도를 포함한 동아시아 대륙이 태평양판 쪽으로 밀려감으로써 섭입하던 태평양판의 각도가 급해져 동아시아 연변에 강력한 흡입력이 발생하였으며, 이 때문에 태평양판의 운동 방향이 북북서에서 서북서방향으로 회전되었을 가능성이 있다. 따라서 약 51 Ma부터 한반도 동남부에는 지판 경계의 강력한 흡입력으로 동서 내지 서북서-동남동의 인장력이 작동되어 B그룹 암맥군이 관입한 것으로 해석된다.Ledge는 세 군 모두에서 나타나지 않았다. 4. 파일 binding 횟수는 MC군이 가장 적고 PT군이 가장 많았다 (p < 0.05). 이상의 결과를 볼 때, Mtwo 전동 파일을 crown-down technique으로 사용하는 것이 single length technique과 유사한 성형 효율을 보이면서도 더 안전할 것으로 추정된다.고 1명(3%)에서 원격전이를 보였다. 치료 중 급성 합병증으로 11명(37%)에서 RTOG grade 1-2의 장염을 보였으며 1명은 대장의 천공이 발생하여 수술로 치유되었다. 12명(40%)에서 RTOG grade 1-2의 급성 방광염을 보였다. 3명(10%)에서 RTOG grade 1-2의 백혈구 감소증이 보였으며 1명에서 심한 백혈구 감소증(RTOG grade 4)이 나타났으나 회복되어 치료를 완료하였다. 만성 합병증으로 5명(15%)에서 RTOG grade 1-2의 만성 장염을 보였으며 별다른 치료 없이 지내고 있으며

      • CMX inhibits inflammation and cell proliferation via the regulation of JAK/STAT signaling in macrophages and keratinocytes

        Psoriasis, a chronic inflammation-mediated skin disease, affects 2-3% of the total populations in the world. It is characterized by keratinocytes hyperproliferation and immune cell infiltration. The JAK/STAT3 and JAK/STAT1 signaling pathways triggered by IL-6 and IFN- γ from dendritic cell and T lymphocytes, play important roles in psoriasis. Thus, blockade of JAK/STAT signaling will be potential strategy in psoriasis. CMX, an extract of Centipeda minima enriched in Brevilin A, Arnicolide D, Arnicolide C, and Microhelenin C which have already been reported in anti-inflammation, anti-cancer, antiallergy, and suppression of proliferation. We established chronic inflammatory and cell proliferating models in macrophages and keratinocytes with LPS (250ng/mL), rh-IL-6 (10ng/mL), or rh-IFN-γ (10ng/mL) to evaluate the effect of CMX. CCK-8 was used for cell proliferation assay, and the protein and RNA were collected and analyzed by western blot and RT-qPCR. We found that CMX inhibited pro-inflammatory cytokines production by inhibiting LPS-induced JAK1/2 and STAT1/3 phosphorylation in macrophages. Moreover, CMX down-regulated chemokines and cell proliferation in HaCaT cell induced by rh-IL-6 and rh-IFN-γ, respectively. Consistently, we demonstrated that reduction of chemokines expression and hyperproliferation was medicated by the regulation of IFN-γ-activated JAK/STAT1 and IL-6-activated JAK/STAT3 signaling. In conclusion, CMX inhibited JAK/STAT-mediated inflammatory responses and cell proliferation in macrophages and keratinocytes, consequently CMX may improve psoriasis development as an important therapeutic approach.

        Comparative Research on Metaphor in Chinese Brush Painting and Contemporary Poster Design

        Background Metaphorical thinking is commonly used in a variety of artistic creations. Metaphors have been used in Chinese paintings for a long time. In modern poster design, metaphor is also considered an artistic expression. What is the relationship between those two artistic forms? The goal of this research is to discover the value of chinese painting used in to modern poster design from a design perspective of metaphor. Methods Through a comparative analysis of the artworks of Bada Shanren and modern posters from the aspects of composition-image, empty space and text- and hidden codes, the aim is to seek similarities and differences regarding their use of metaphors. Result They are similar in their aim to avoid direct expression and impart meaning to art works. Although both use a form of “chinese elegance”, Chinese paintings and graphic posters have a difference approach. While the Chinese paintings have unfamiliar metaphorical tenors with familiar metaphorical vehicles, Modern graphic posters use familiar metaphorical tenors with unfamiliar metaphorical vehicles. Conclusion The above analysis reveals the similarities and differences between Chinese ink paintings and contemporary posters. Although both forms use metaphors in different ways, they are similar in their aim to avoid direct expression and impart meaning to art works. The ancient literati painters produced the poetic spirit or elegance (“Chinese elegance”) by using metaphors. In terms of aesthetic value, metaphors reflect “Chinese elegance” in both Chinese ink paintings and contemporary poster designs.

        Empathy as Tool for Studying Chronic Disease Medicine Package Design for Chinese Elderly

        Background The elderly population expanded gradually in modern Asian society as a special community. China`s first blue book shows the high prevalence rate of chronic diseases in the elderly. Daily prescription medicines for chronic diseases, which differ from OTC (over-the-counter) medicines, are not required to be packaged or labelled under the mandatory prescription drug requirement in China. Existing package design need to be improved since there have been frequent reports of misuse and poisoning related to elderly users misusing the medicine due to unclear design. Empathic design offers a new vision for designers to meet the real needs of users by observing their behavior in a natural environment. The literature review shows extensive literature focusing on NPD (new product design) from the perspective of empathy. However, most of these studies were conducted in a Western social context. There is a dearth of research specifically addressing the Asian elderly. The main aim of this study was to develop a new empathic design process for identifying the problems in chronic disease medicine package for Chinese aging users, via the case studies from a design perspective. Methods This paper follows Leonard & Rayport`s empathic design process and is divided into two stages: problem identification(SPI)and problem solving(SPS). Moreover, a new SPI was developed using case studies to identify the problems in chronic disease medicine package. The KANO questionnaire, a half-opened interview and Contextual Inquiry (CI) were the main methods of data collection and analysis. Results The problems revealed in the questionnaire, interview, and CI were summarized and compared. The data shows that the interview found some hidden problems that the questionnaire could not done. Moreover, for the CI, the observation without pre-set questions filled the vacancy of knowledge brought on by the questionnaire and interview. The indirect methods in empathic design such as the empathic probe pack were not very effective for the subject, the elderly people did not respond positively when the researcher showed it to them. Conclusion A new 3-step SPI, which was effective in identifying the problems for Asian elderly users, was developed using case studies: pre-observation, observation and analysis of the collected data.
