Highly Reliable TCP Transfer Method with Error Correction Technology
Masaki Sakakibara,Yosuke Tanigawa,Hideki Tode 한국멀티미디어학회 2009 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2009 No.-
TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)[1] offers congestion and retransmission control according to the network loads between End-to-End terminals. TCP is widely used regardless of wired or wireless networks. However, in TCP, consecutive packet losses decrease the sending rate. Thus, it is difficult to keep stable throughput. In this paper, we propose a method that packets are sent by FEC (Forward Error Correction)[2] while sender terminal judges to be in congestion. The proposed method can achieve better performance compared to conventional TCP Reno that is widely used in actual network.

In this paper, faulty effects of interconnect opens in logic ICs fabricated with a 90㎚ CMOS process are analyzed by device simulation. In the analysis, it is examined whether a logical error can be caused at an opened input signal line by logic signals of the neighboring signal lines. The simulation results suggest us that a logical error may occur at an interconnect surrounding by 8 interconnects if the interconnects are longer than 5㎛ and the width of an open defect is greater than 2.0㎚.

Purpose: Granulomas resulting from the administration of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogues (LH-RH analogues) are thought to be very rare. We report on our clinical experience with injection-site granulomas that result from the administration of LH-RH analogues, and we evaluate the incidence rate of these granulomas. Materials and Methods: We used the clinical records of 118 patients who were administered LH-RH analogues in 2005. We describe the clinical data of patients who experienced injection-site granulomas and evaluated the incidence rate. Results: Five patients demonstrated injection-site granulomas due to LH-RH analogue administration. The incidence rate was 4.2% (5 of 118 patients). Most of the granulomas occurred after the first or second administration of 11.25mg of leuprorelin acetate. Conclusion: The occurrence of granulomas resulting from the administration of LH-RH analogues was thought to be very rare. Our study, however, revealed a higher incidence rate than expected, especially for leuprorelin acetate.

Sixteen cases of malignant soft tissue sarcoma (STS; 10canines and six felines) were treated with a novel tripletherapy that combined photodynamic therapy, hyperthermiausing indocyanine green with a broadband light source, andlocal chemotherapy after surgical tumor resection. This tripletherapy was called photodynamic hyperthermal chemotherapy(PHCT). In all cases, the surgical margin was insufficient. Inone feline case, PHCT was performed without surgicalresection. PHCT was performed over an interval of 1 to 2 weeksand was repeated three to 21 times. No severe side effects, including severe skin burns, necrosis, or skin suture rupture, were observed in any of the animals. No disease recurrence wasobserved in seven out of 10 (70.0%) dogs and three out of six(50.0%) cats over the follow-up periods ranging from 238 to1901 days. These results suggest that PHCT decreases the riskof STS recurrence. PHCT should therefore be considered anadjuvant therapy for treating companion animals with STS inveterinary medicine.
User Interface for Sensitivity Analysis on Qualitative and Quantitative Hybrid Simulation
Masaki Samejima,Goro Shida,Masanori Akiyoshi,Norihisa Komoda 한국멀티미디어학회 2009 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2009 No.-
The qualitative and quantitative hybrid simulation system was proposed for support of designing a business scenario. In using the system, a business manager must describe a qualitative and quantitative hybrid model for the simulation, and perform sensitivity analysis to decide appropriate input values. Those are complicated tasks, so that a business manager often spends time. In order to support those tasks, we propose user interfaces that consist of a model description editor and a visualization window of changes in input values and output values for sensitivity analysis. A model description editor makes it easier to describe the hybrid model by interactive editing the model represented as a graph. A visualization window expresses changes in input values as a radar chart and plots averages and variances of changed output values for comparison. As a result of questionnaires concerning the user interface, it is confirmed that our proposed interface is effective for designing a business scenario.
