Revisiting Customer Complaint Intention: A Case Study of Mobile Service Users in Vietnam

Liem Thanh NGUYEN,Minh Hoang DANG,Thu Duyen TAT,Dinh Gia Trung TRAN 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.9

In the mobile industry, customer complaints play a significant role in retaining customer loyalty to the services provided. Thanks to user complaints, mobile service providers can effectively identify problems and then propose solutions to adapt or improve their services. Hence, it’s critical to understand the relationship between consumer complaints and satisfaction with mobile services. While several studies have shown that customer satisfaction is an intermediary variable that explains customer complaint intention, there have been few studies on the relationship between pre-determinants of their satisfaction, leaving a gap in our understanding of customer complaint intention. To demonstrate an in-depth approach to this matter, authors revisit justice theory and suggest trust and perceived responsibility variables be combined into a research model. A cross-section survey was conducted to collect data from 265 mobile services users of the three biggest mobile service providers in Kien Giang Province, Vietnam. This study employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method to analyze the samples collected. The result showed that customer complaint intention is affected by distributive justice, interactional justice, trust but not procedural justice. Additionally, the moderating role of the perceived responsibility variable to the relationship between customer satisfaction and complaint intention is also proved.

        Thanh Liem, Nguyen,현인규 한국유통경영학회 2022 유통경영학회지 Vol.25 No.1

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to establish a development strategy for the Vietnamese automobile industry using the development process of the Korean automobile industry as a model. To this end, Michael Porter’s Diamond Model is used to compare and analyze the international competitiveness of the automobile industry in Korea and Vietnam to derive meaningful results. Research design, data, and methodology: This study has examined the classical theories related to competition theory of Porter’s Diamond Model, the authors will present the analysis of Korea and Vietnam’s automobile industry with 4 main factors: Factor Conditions, Demand Conditions, Related and Supporting Industries, and Firm Strategy, Structure, and Rivalry. The authors establish research model through literature reviews and data was collected from reliable official sources of two countries and international organizations. The analytical method is normalize the data and assign an index value of 100 to the country with the higher data value, from which the index value of the other country is calculated. The value of each of the four determinants factors is the average of the dependent factors. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was found that the international competitiveness of the Vietnamese automobile industry has competitiveness in terms of demand and support industries, and that international competitiveness, including factor conditions, corporate strategies, structures, and competition, is low. On the other hand, the international competitiveness of the Korean automobile industry was greater than that of Vietnam in the four determinants as expected. Implications: Strategic implications for the development of the Vietnamese automobile industry were presented focusing on the four determinants based on the analysis results. In conclusion, in order to develop the automobile industry, balanced growth in all fields of the country is necessary. In addition, if t he state has a firm will, necessary or insufficient factors can be achieved through cooperation with foreign companies.

        Thanh Liem, Nguyen,현인규 한국유통경영학회 2022 유통경영학회지 Vol.25 No.4

Purpose: This study aims to determine the current state of the Vietnamese automobile industry. In particular, it aims to provide valuable information to assist the Vietnamese government in developing its strategy for activating the automobile industry, as well as companies in developing their entry strategy. Research design, data, and methodology: This study uses the combined SWOT/ AHP model. T he A na lytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to quantitatively analyze the SWOT matrix. In order to gather data, documents and reports from the Vietnamese government and international agencies were used to construct a questionnaire. Results: The summary of the research results are as follows. Among the factors contributing to Vietnam’s automobile industry revitalization strategy, “a sta ble macro environment” played a significant role. In addition, among the strong factors, the factors of “adequate manpower at low cost” and “a fa vora ble position to join ASEAN and Asian automobile supply chains,” were found to be very important. Also, among the external environmental opportunity factors, the “deep participation of ATIGA in ASEAN and Asia’s automobile supply chain” and the “potential automobile consumption market” were considered. As a result, the Vietnamese government may consider the above factors when ma king a n a ctiva tion s tra tegy f or t he Vietnamese automobile industry in the future. Implications: The following strategic implications are derived from this study. The SO strategy must be revitalized by creating conditions for imported cars to enter the Vietnamese ma rket, while t he S T stra tegy must be s trengthened by protecting domestic autos. Technology transfer, collaboration with foreign companies, and localization should all be included in the WO strategy. Lastly, the WT strategy requires Vietnamese related agencies to develop binding regulations on imported cars and to quickly improve the rate of localization.

Nguyen Vu Thanh,Tran Kim Anh,Nguyen Quang Liem,Nguyen Huu Quan,Nguyen The Khoi 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.52 No.5

Nanocrystals of CePO4:Tb were prepared by reacting the corresponding metal chlorides, phos- phoric acid and trioctylamine at 200℃ in tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (TEHP). The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The photoluminescence (PL) and the absorption spectra of CePO4:Tb nanoparticles will be presented. The PL spectra are described by using the well-known 5D4 - 7FJ transitions (J = 6, 5, 4, 3 ···) of Tb3+ ions with the strongest emission at 543 nm for J = 5. The dependence of PL intensity on Tb3+ concentration has been investigated. Evaluating Load-Carrying Capacity of Short Composite Beam Using Strain-Hardening HPFRC

        Duy-Liem Nguyen,Vu-Tu Tran,Ngoc-Thanh Tran,Tri-Thuong Ngo,Manh-Tuan Nguyen 대한토목학회 2021 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.25 No.4

The main goal of this study was to develop the short composite beams using strain-hardening fiber-reinforced concrete (S_HPFRC) and conventional concrete (CC) together. Firstly, the sensitivity of the hybrid fiber system to the enhancement of mechanical properties of plain high performance concrete (P_mortar) was experimentally studied. The ranking of the mechanical properties in terms of sensitive coefficient was observed as follows: direct tensile > splitting tensile > compressive. Next, the responses of short composite beams with various thicknesses of S_HPFRC were investigated under a three-point bending test (3PBT). Six beams with no reinforcement (type A) and six beams with reinforcement were tested (type B) with their identical dimensions of 150 × 150 × 300 mm (depth × width × span length). The compressive strength of S_HPFRC and CC were about 80.65 MPa and 21.12 MPa, respectively. Most of the composite beams were observed to fail in shear mode. And, there was a favorable effect on enhancing the load-carrying capacity of a beam as S_HPFRC was placed at a critical tensile zone. Finally, based on the test data, the analytical equations were proposed for the purpose of predicting shear resistance of the S_HPFRC - CC beam.

      • Some Results of Recent Investigation and Application of Rubber Blends in Vietnam

        Bui Chuong,Nguyen Thanh Liem,Dang Viet Hung,Nguyen Huy Tung,Nguyen Pham Duy Linh,Nguyen Thanh Nhan,Pham Ngoc Linh,Le Anh Kien,Chu Chien Huu 한국고분자학회 2021 한국고분자학회 학술대회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.46 No.1

We have investigated the change of tensile strength (TS) of Natural rubber/chloroprene rubber (NR/CR) blends during combination ageing, including heating and dynamic mechanical loading. Using model of statistical experiment, we built the equation describing the dependence of TS on four factors: temperature T, number of cyclic loadings N, contents of NR (CNR) and chloroprene (CCR). This equation allows predict the TS change of NR/CR blends after combination ageing with accepted inaccuracy – less than 10%. We also investigated the effect of nanofillers, such as nanoclay, SiO2, Fe3O4, on adhesion of some rubber blends to polyester and steel cords. It was found, in the case of EPDM/CIIR rubber blends, both nanoclay and SiO2 have no effect on adhesion to steel cords, while nano SiO2 may enhance adhesion to polyester cords. On other side, Fe3O4 may remarkably enhance adhesion of NR/CR blends to steel. Mentioned results are successfully applied in some practical rubber products working under fatigue conditions, such as rubber/steel antivibration pad for locomotive, heat resistant conveyor, water dam, underwater lift bag.

Polarization of Colloidal CdSe Quantum Dots

Nguyen Quang Liem,Le Quang Phuong,Ung Thi Dieu Thuy,Tran Thi Kim Chi,Do Xuan Thanh 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.53 No.3

The effects of the polarization of colloidal CdSe QDs on the optical transitions are discussed based on systematic studies of a colloidal CdSe-based QDs system as a function of the net QDs' polarity/polarization and of the solvent's polarity. The polarization of the QD/ligand complexes makes them water-soluble after appropriate cleaning processes. The polarization of the bare CdSe QDs is reasonably thought to originate from dangling bonds at the surfaces of the dots. Passivation of the Se dangling bond by hydrogen generated from ultraviolet irradiation of the CdSe QDs in water is clearly observed to cause a spectral blueshift and a photoluminescence enhancement.

Influences of Xeno-Free Media on Mesenchymal Stem Cell Expansion for Clinical Application

Bui Hue Thi Hong,Nguyen Liem Thanh,Than Uyen Thi Trang 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2021 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.18 No.1

Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) are multipotent somatic stem/progenitor cells that can be isolated from various tissues and have attracted increasing attention from the scientific community. This is due to MSCs showing great potential for incurable disease treatment, and most applications of MSCs involve tissue degeneration and treatment of immune- and inflammation-mediated diseases. Conventional MSC cultures contain fetal bovine serum (FBS), which is a common supplement for cell development but is also a risk factor for exposure to animal-derived pathogens. To avoid the risks resulting from the xenogeneic origin and animal-derived pathogens of FBS, xeno-free media have been developed and commercialized to satisfy MSC expansion demands for human clinical applications. This review summarized and provided an overview of xeno-free media that are currently used for MSC expansion. Additionally, we discussed the influences of different xeno-free media on MSC biology with particular regard to cell morphology, surface marker expression, proliferation, differentiation and immunomodulation. The xeno-free media can be serum-free and xeno-free media or media supplemented with some human-originating substances, such as human serum, human platelet lysates, human umbilical cord serum/plasma, or human plasma-derived supplements for cell culture medium. These media have capacity to maintain a spindle-shaped morphology, the expression of typical surface markers, and the capacity of multipotent differentiation and immunomodulation of MSCs. Xeno-free media showed potential for safe use for human clinical treatment. However, the influences of these xeno-free media on MSCs are various and any xeno-free medium should be examined prior to being used for MSC cultures.

      • Safety assessment of an underground tunnel subjected to missile impact using numerical simulations

        Duc-Kien Thai,Duy-Liem Nguyen,Thanh-Tung Pham,Thai-Hoan Pham 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2021 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.27 No.1

This work presents a safety assessment of an underground tunnel subjected to a ballistic missile attack employing the numerical approach. For the impact simulation, a box shaped reinforced concrete (RC) structure with a cross section dimension of 8.0×10.0 m under a soil layer that was attacked by a SCUD missile was modeled using finite element (FE) software LS-DYNA. SCUD missile is one of a series of tactical ballistic missiles developed by Soviet Union during the Cold War, which is adopted for a short-range ballistic missile. The developed FE simulation for the penetration depth of the missile impacting into the soil structure was verified from the well-known formula of the penetration prediction. The soil-structure interaction, the soil type, and the impact missile velocity effects on the penetration depth of the missile into the different soil types were investigated. The safety assessment of the underground tunnel was performed with regard to the different depths of the underground tunnel. For each missile velocity and soil type, a specific depth called the unsafe depth was obtained from the analysis results. The structure beneath the soil beyond this depth remains safe. The unsafe depth was found to be increased with the increasing missile velocity.

Financial Development, Business Cycle and Bank Risk in Southeast Asian Countries

TRAN, Son Hung,NGUYEN, Liem Thanh Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.3

The paper aims to examine whether business cycles affect the link between financial development and bank risk, measured by Zscore and non-performing loans to total loans in six Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. This study uses a sample of 95 listed commercial banks over a 15-year period between 2004 and 2018 in the six Southeast Asian countries. This study employs panel OLS regression and modifications to tackle issues such as endogeneity and heteroscedasticity. The results show that the impact of stock market development (the ratio of the market capitalization to GDP) on Zscore is significantly positive, whereas its effect on non-performing loans is significantly negative. The findings suggest that financial development, in terms of stock market capitalization, improves banks' Zscores and reduces their level of non-performing loans, suggesting that financial development on average reduces bank risk. The impact of business cycle is insignificant towards bank risk, thus rejecting both counter- and pro-cyclical hypotheses, except for the case of risk indicator of loan loss provisions. Examining the joint effect of the business cycle and financial development on bank risk, we find that the phase of business cycles generally does not moderate the link between financial development and bank risk.
