        The seaside plaza at the Dodong-port of Ulleung-gun is cognized having characters of space. these characters are a gateway connecting to land, the image of Ulleung's symbol, cleanness as a whole and The scenery is beautiful beyond expression. But the seaside plaza be jammed up and be disordered with visitors, natives and mobiles, and then they didn't make the best use of the expressionist nature and landscape on the images of Ulleung of cleanness and pleasant. Therefore this study was to plan on the seaside plaza at the Dodong-port toward the heightening of Ulleung's symbol, identity, individuality through the presentation of images on cleanness and pleasant, and the expropriation of variety activities on the visitors and natives. The seaside plaza was designed with seven schemes those can be summarized as follows. The first was the adaptation of an existing variety outer functions and activities, the second was the efficient distribution of hard-pavements and green-fields, the third was the treatment of existing slopes and terraces, the fourth was the adaptation of the existing understructures and facilities, the fifth was the creation of nightscape for a night use, the sixth was for harmony of forms and functions like a meet, chat, rest, stroll and assembly, the last was the preparation for erecting a symbolic structure in the future.

      • 효과적인 하중운반체계의 동역학적 연구

        The purpose of this study was to get the quantitative data of effect of two different load carrying system on Kinematics and Kinetics. The subjects for the research were 2-adults. The mechanism of each load carrying pattern was measured by a motion analylizer, a forceplatform and EMG system. The conclusions were get from Kinematics variables and Kinetics variables. 1. It was not effected at the vertical reaction force(Fz) of left, right foot according to the big value the 1st peack of 10kg, 15kg fore, back-pack carrying system, 20 kgw, 30 kgw back-pack carrying system in walking. But it was effected at the vertical reaction force(Fz) on 30 kgw back-pack carrying system in walking. 2. It was not effected at the Anterior-Posterior reaction force(Fx) of left, right foot according to high value of the 1st peack on 10 kgw, 15 kgw fore, back-pack carrying in walking. But, it was effected on the 20 kgw, 30 kgw only back-pack carrying in walking. 3. It was effected at the left-right reaction force(Fy) of left-right foot according to the big value of the 2nd peak on 10 kgw, 15 kgw fore-backpack carrying system in walking. It was more effective than 20 kgw, 30 kgw back-pack carrying system in walking. There was not disorder force(Fx) on 10 kgw, 15 kgw fore-backpack carrying system in walking. 4. Analysis of computer graphic, on the pack carrying system in walking. It was efficient in 10 kgw, 15 kgw fore-backpack carrying system in walking. But, it was efficient on 20 kgw, 30 kgw backpack carrying in walking. Castrocnemius, Tibialis anterior, Vastus lateralis, Vastus medialis, are stressed to bend their body foreward. So it occurred fatigue fast, injured muscles and joints. 5. Extension anyles and flection angles of the knee joint and the hip joint on 10 kgw, 15 kgw fore-backpack carrying system in walking showed less than those on 20 kgw, 30 kgw backpack carrying system in walking. It was efficient on the 10 kgw, 15 kgw fore-backpack carrying system in walking. 6. Magnitudes of EMG of Castrocnemius, Tibialis anterior, Vastus lateralis, Vastus medialis, were increased according to increasing weight road and were decreased on the 20 kgw, 30 kgw back-pack carrying system in walking.

        Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte disorder in hospitalized patients, and incidence of hyponatremia is about 1-4%. It is suggested that hyponatremia is closely related with morbidity and mortality in these patients. Diuretic-induced hyponatremia is one of the most common causes of hyponatremia associated with hypovolemic hypoosmolality, but serious hyponatremia due to diuretic use is relatively uncommon. Advanced age may be a predisposing cause, and women is more susceptible than men, but no definite proof has been documented. The severity of symptoms can be roughly correlated with velocity and degree of hyponatremia, and neurological symptoms generally do not occur until the serum sodium falls below 125 mEq/L. Rapid development of hypoosmolality can result in brain edema before brain adaptation occurs by excreting intracellular solutes. In the most severe cases death can result from respiratory arrest after cerebral herniation. So, it is need to optimal treatment for neurological symptoms. We report a case of serious thiazide-induced hyponatremia in elderly hypertensive man which were aggravated by infusion of simple dextrose solution without electrolyte for severe watery diarrhea.

        韓國人에서 多重增幅 重合酵素反應으로 分析한 STRs 遺傳座位의 遺傳的 多樣性

        The tetrameric STRs loci were studied in a population of Korean(n=223) for allele frequency distribution and applicability to identity and paternity testing, using multiplex PCR with electrophoresis of the PCR products in DNA sequencing gels and subsequent detection of allelic fragments by silver staining. The STRs loci analyzed were HUMCSF1PO, HUMTPOX, and HUMTHO1 ; in the Korean population, 9 alleles with their frequency range of 0.002-0.363 are detected in the HUMCSF1PO, 5 alleles with those of 0.020-1.480 in the HUMTPOX, and 6 alleles with those of 0.002-0.489 in the HUMTHO1. The highest observed heterozygosity is found at the locus HUMCSF1PO(0.709), those of the loci HUMTPOX and HUMTHO1 being 0.646 and 0.632, respectively. All loci meet Hardy-Weinberg expectations ; there are good agreement between the observed and expected values under Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Moreover, pairwise comparisons between loci show allelic independence for all the 3 loci comparisons. The power of discrimination (PD) determined for the locus HUMCSF1PO is 0.8896 (88.96%), that of the HUMTPOX is 0.8818(88.18%), and that for the HUMTHO1 is 0.8367(83.67%) ; the combined power of discrimination for the triplex is 0.9976(99.76%). The power of exclusion(PEX) calculated for the loci HUMCSF1PO, HUMTPOX, and HUMTHO1, being prior probability that a falsely accused father will be excluded, and 0.5173(51.73%), 0.4610(46.10%), and 0.5101(510.01%), respectively, and the cummulative power of exclusion(CPE) for all the three loci is 0.8726(87.26%). Thus, these allelic frequency data can be used to construct the database of the multiplex PCR-based DNA profile in the Korean population. The calculated parameter, "power of discrimination(PD)" and "power of exclusion(PEX)", show the informativeness of these loci for the determination of identity and relatedness of individuals.

        This study consists in clarifying the meaning of various angles and velocity, and two types of the stroke of a pushing shot and hitting shot through the three-dimensional image analyses among the factors of exercise. To attain the purpose of such studies, the result of experiment and analysis for each of three athletes of boys and girls in high school and three persons in general came to the conclusion as follows; 1. The last motion of a group of A having a command of a follow shot showed greatly, compared with two groups of B and C, and this showed that a group of A took a rectilinear motion greatly to gain power and two group of B and C took a rotary motion greatly to gain speed. 2. A group of A having a command of a pushing shot move body weight forward from behind and give the first consideration to a rectilinear motion, and two groups of B and C having a command of the stroke of hitting shot used the turning of the shoulder and the waist and gave much weight to a rotary motion than a rectilinear one. 3. The position of the hitting point of a group of A having a command of a pushing shot turned out to be the waist, and that of the hitting point of two groups of B and C, the chest, and namely this showed that the position of the hitting point was decided according to the form of the stroke and pictures of various kinds. 4. In impacting, the speed decreased, for the power was controled to keep an accurate timing of stroke just before impacting

      • 수혈을 거부하는 혈액투석환자에서 상부위장관 출혈의 무수혈적 치료 1예

        The incidence of bleeding complications may be decreasing. But, upper gastrointestinal(UGI) bleeding is a still significant complication of chronic renal failure(CRF). Although there are many controversies about clear cut guidelines for blood transfusion, blood transfusions are critically important and essential in many emergency cases. Recombinant erythropoietin has been used in the past in treatment of anemia in Jehovah's witness patients from surgery, chemotherapy, and trauma. We here report a case of the use of erythropoietin in Jehovah's witness patients with an active upper gastrointestinal bleeding and chronic anemia from end-stage renal disease. A 59-year-old male Jehovah's witness patient with a past medical history of diabetes mellitus and end-stage renal disease(receiving hemodialysis) was admitted because of hematemesis and melena. He was diagnosised with gastric ulcer on emergency gastroenteroscopy and treated with argon plasma coagulation. His hematocrit was 12.1% at admission. He refused blood transfusion and was treated with intravenous iron, ulcer medication and high dose erythropoietin. After 2 weeks, he was discharged with hematocrit 23%.

        Multilocular cystic nephroma is a rare and non-inherited benign renal neoplasm occuring in the both children and adults. It is necessary to make a differential diagnosis from all renal diseases with a cystic component, such as simple cyst, metastatic renal tumor, cystic adenoma or angiomyolipoma in adults. We report a case of multilocular cystic nephroma presented with painful abdominal mass treated with laparoscopic nephrectomy and confirmed with pathology.

        Scanning multishot irradiations on a large-area glass substrate for Xe-Arc flash lamp crystallization of amorphous silicon thin-film

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Applying an in-line Xe-arc flash lamp annealing (FLA) process for the fabrication of low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) on a large-scale glass substrate, this study investigates the effects of scanning multishot irradiations on the thermo-mechanical deformation of the substrate and the microscopic phase-change of the amorphous silicon (a-Si) thin-film. A glass substrate with thin-film structures was preheated at 650 °C, exposed to sequential multiple flashes, and thus heated rapidly far beyond the glass softening temperature to achieve crystallization of a-Si. Temperature variations in the substrate were predicted by one-dimensional heat conduction model with radiation absorption, and the structural deformations were simulated through a FEM code and compared to the experimental observations. The maximum temperatures arisen in the substrate during the second or subsequent flash irradiations were substantially lower than that during the first irradiation owing to reduced absorptions of flash energies. These absorption reductions were resulted from phase-changes of silicon from amorphous to polycrystalline. Those temperatures, however, were still sufficiently high to cause a significant thermal warpage, resulting in the bathtub shape of the substrate. The critical mechanisms for the warpage were the structural shrinkage and the gravitational sagging. In addition, the microscopic structural characteristics of the LTPS fabricated by the scanning multishot FLA process were explored through optical and Raman spectroscopies, and transmission electron microscopy.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Scanning multishot flash lamp annealing process for large-area display. </LI> <LI> Scanning speed of 40 mm/s and flashing frequency of 2 Hz. </LI> <LI> Simulation using a viscoelastic model and experimentation using Xe arc flashes. </LI> <LI> Thermal warpage due to local softening/stress relaxation and gravitational sagging. </LI> <LI> Crystallinity estimated by transmittances, Raman spectra, TEM images. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        Controlled infiltration profile of SiC coating layer on graphite by Si vapor deposition reaction

        SiC-coated graphite was successfully fabricated at different temperatures (1300-1600 oC) through a silicon vapor depositionreaction (Si-VDR) process. Si powder was used for the Si source of the SiC coating layers. When Si powder was evaporatedat high temperature near the melting point of bulk Si, Si gases are moved and changed into Si liquid at the surface of thegraphite. The high-temperature process facilitated the formation of SiC coating layers on the graphite. The microstructural,mechanical, and thermal oxidation properties of the coated graphite were investigated.
