Aims: Chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection increases the risk for progressive liver disease, hepatocellular carcinoma and negatively impacts the patient’s quality of life. HCV treatment is evolving with direct acting antivirals but IFN based therapy has been the standard of care for many years and remains available in some countries. The MOSAIC study aims to characterize patients with chronic HCV infection and assess the impact of IFN-containing treatment on health-related quality of life, work related productivity and health care utilization. Methods: MOSAIC is an international prospective multicenter observational study that has been conducted in 20 countries. Consecutive patients with chronic HCV infection were enrolled and those who initiated an IFN based regimen were prospectively followed for 48 weeks. We report results from the Korean cohort Results: 100 patients were enrolled: 86 were treatment naïve and 14 were treatment experienced. 33 patients initiated an IFN based regimen: 6 patients started IFN + RBV, 26 patients started Peg-IFN + RBV, none started Peg-IFN + RBV + DAA and 1 patient received other treatment. Among the treated cohort, demographic and disease characteristics were the following: the mean age was 54.5 years; 14 patients were male. 14 had minimal or no fibrosis, 2 portal fibrosis, 3 bridging fibrosis and 6 patients suffered from cirrhosis. HCV Genotype distribution was as follows: genotype 1: 11; genotype 2: 19 and genotype 3: 3. Table 1 describes the results at baseline and changes over 4, 12 and 48 weeks and end-of-treatment (EOT) for the quality of life and work productivity outcome measures (EQ-5D-5L, HCV-PRO and WPAI). Conclusions: Results from the Korean cohort of the MOSAIC study show a moderate trend for deterioration of health-related quality of life and work productivity associated with IFN based treatment for patients with chronic HCV infection during treatment period. Fast Generation of Stereoscopic Virtual Environment Display Using P-buffer
Jun-Hyeok Heo,Soon-Ki Jung,Kwang-Yun Wohn 한국정보과학회 1998 Journal of Electrical Engineering and Information Vol.3 No.2
This paper is concerned with an efficient generation of stereoscopic views for complex virtual environments by exploiting frame coherence in visibility. The basic idea is to keep visible polygons throughout the rendering process. P-buffer, a buffer of image size, holds the id of the visible polygon for each pixel. This contrasts to the frame buffer and the Z-buffer which hold the color information and the depth information, respectively. For the generation of a consecutive image, the position and the orientation of the visible polygons in the current view are updated according to the viewer's movements, and re-rendered on the current image under the assumption that, when the viewer moves slightly, the visibility of polygons remains unchanged. In the case of stereoscopic views, it may not introduce much difficulty when we render the right(left) image using visible polygons on the left(right) image only, The less difference in two images is, the easier the matching becomes in perceiving depth. Some psychophysical experiments have been conducted to support this claim. The computational complexity for generating a right(left) image from the previous left(right) image is bounded by the size of image space, and accordingly It is somewhat independent of the complexity of the 3-D scene.

Analysis of Multiple Fin-type Vertical GaN Power Transistors based on Bulk GaN Substrates
Jun Hyeok Heo,Sang Ho Lee,Jin Park,So Ra Min,Geon Uk Kim,Ga Eon Kang,Jaewon Jang,Jin-Hyuk Bae,Sin-Hyung Lee,In Man Kang 대한전자공학회 2023 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.23 No.1
In this study, the multiple fin-type vertical GaN power transistor based on the GaN-on-GaN were analyzed using the two-dimensional technical computer-aided design (2-D TCAD) simulations. In the field of the electric vehicle systems requiring a high operation voltage of 1,000 V or more, the power devices have a large device area because of the long distance between the gate region and the drain region. This problem can be addressed by using the fin-type vertical GaN power transistor, which can reduce the device area due to its vertical channel. For the high current performance, the multiple fin-type structure was required. Thus, we investigated characteristics depending on the number of fin (Nfin). By comparing the on-state drain currents (Ion), the breakdown voltages (BV), and the on-resistances (Ron) with different Nfin, this study provides an understanding of the electrical properties of the multiple fin-type vertical GaN power transistor affected by Nfin.
Development of Matlab-Based IPMSM Model Considering Fault Modes of xEV Platform for SILS
Heo Jun-Hyeok,Kang Jun-Kyu,Hur Jin 대한전기학회 2023 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.18 No.6
Building a motor fault model through software-in-the-loop simulation (SILS) proposes the control state of the test object as an effective platform. Therefore, in this paper, the motor characteristics considering motor fault based on equations and numerical analysis are applied to the Matlab model. This presents the excellence of evaluating the characteristics of the motor that contributes to the vehicle characteristics in advance at the vehicle level simulation without directly manufacturing the motor.
