Implementation of NGN Resource Control Functions with QoS Mapping Mechanism
Jinsu Jeon,Haehyun Kim,Youngwook Cha,Woojin Seok,Jonguk Kong 한국멀티미디어학회 2008 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2008 No.-
QoS based resource control is required to support differentiated services for various network users in next generation network (NON). We design and implement DIAMETER protocol as Rs interface, and also define mapping rules between DIAMETER information elements and session description protocol (SDP) attributes for QoS based resource control in NON. We select and implement DIAMETER protocol among alternate resource control protocols in ITU-T as Rw interface because of interworking simplicity with Rs interface and adequate AAA functionality. Based on the mapping rules of QoS information elements, we build up a test-bed to verify differentiated delivery services in NGN.
GA-Optimized Compact Broadband CRLH Band-Pass Filter Using Stub-Inserted Interdigital Coupled Lines
Jinsu Jeon,Sungtek Kahng,Hyunsoo Kim 한국전자파학회JEES 2015 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.15 No.1
The design of a new compact band-pass filter is proposed, which is based on the microstrip composite right- and left-handed transmission-line (CRLH-TL) structure. Particularly, the interdigital coupled (IDC) lines of the CRLH geometry are proposed to be parted by inserting open stubs to meet the specifications on the passband. In addition, there is another pair of stubs to complete the design in a limited space. These are considered in the TL-based analysis and the design parameters are calculated by genetic algorithm optimization. The measurement is shown to be acceptable and agreeable with the circuit and electromagnetic field simulations. In addition, the zerothorder resonance (ZOR) phenomenon is verified.
Structure and interaction of ubiquitin-associated domain of human Fas-associated factor 1.

Fas-associated factor (FAF)-1 is a multidomain protein that was first identified as a member of the Fas death-inducing signaling complex, but later found to be involved in various biological processes. Although the exact mechanisms are not clear, FAF1 seems to play an important role in cancer, asbestos-induced mesotheliomas, and Parkinson's disease. It interacts with polyubiquitinated proteins, Hsp70, and p97/VCP (valosin-containing protein), in addition to the proteins of the Fas-signaling pathway. We have determined the crystal structure of the ubiquitin-associated domain of human FAF1 (hFAF1-UBA) and examined its interaction with ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like proteins using nuclear magnetic resonance. hFAF1-UBA revealed a canonical three-helical bundle that selectively binds to mono- and di-ubiquitin (Lys48-linked), but not to SUMO-1 (small ubiquitin-related modifier 1) or NEDD8 (neural precursor cell expressed, developmentally down-regulated 8). The interaction between hFAF1-UBA and di-ubiquitin involves hydrophobic interaction accompanied by a transition in the di-ubiquitin conformation. These results provide structural insight into the mechanism of polyubiquitin recognition by hFAF1-UBA.

An Orthogonally Polarized Negative Resonance CRLH Patch Antenna
Sungtek Kahng,Jinsu Jeon,Taejoon Park 대한전기학회 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.1
A novel fully-printed microstrip antenna with negative first resonance and dual polarization is proposed. The radiator is printed on the 1-layer substrate instead of multilayers. The -1st resonance results from a composite right- and left-handed(CRLH) structure that has a circumferentially interlocked gap capacitively coupling a patch with a shorted-ring. This compact antenna is provided with a dual-polarization capability by creating two orthogonal linear polarizations in one body with coaxial feeds. The design is carried out by doing full-wave EM field simulation which is compared with the measurement of the fabricated antenna prototype. The measured results give the gain of 5 dBi and the efficiency of 78% at the -1st resonance mode as the center frequency of a downlink channel of the bandwidth over 20 MHz with 29 dB polarization isolation for mobile communication.
