Failure criterion is a parameter to represent the resistance to failure of locally wall thinned pipe, and it depends on material characteristics, defect geometry, applied loading type, and failure mode. Therefore, accurate prediction of integrity of wall thinned pipe requires a failure criterion adequately reflected the characteristics of defect shape and loading in the piping system. In the present study, the finite element analysis was performed and the results were compared with those of pipe experiment to develop a sound criterion for failure of internally wall thinned pipe subjected to combined pressure and bending loads. By comparing the predictions of failure to actual failure load and displacement, an appropriate criterion was investigated. From this investigation, it is concluded that true ultimate stress criterion is the most accurate to predict failure of wall thinned pipe under combined loads, but it is not conservative under some conditions. Engineering ultimate stress estimates the failure load and displacement reasonably for all conditions, although the predictions are less accurate compared with the results predicted by true ultimate stress criterion.

자발성 뇌지주막하출혈 환자에서 Cardiac Troponin Ⅰ를 이용한 심근손상의 발생율

Background : More than 90% of acute stroke patients have measurable cardiovascular sequelae, but we have been often overlooked in formal discussions of treatment. If we estimate the incidence of myocardial injury in patients with spontaneous SAH, we may figure the possibility of cardiac dysfunction in such patients. This study was designed to investigate the incidence of myocardial injury in patients with spontaneous SAH using cardiac troponin I(cTnI). Methods : A prospective single emergency center study was performed to determined preoperative incidence of unrecognized cardiac injury in patients suffering spontaneous SAH. We include the spontaneous SAH patients who underwent serum measurements of the cardic troponin I immediately upon admission last six month period. ECG, CK, CK-MB and myoglobin were also performed at admission. We excluded the spontaneous SAH patients who had past history of myocardial ischemia and ECG abnormality. Results : Fifty-two patients(34 females, 18 males) with spontaneous SAH were studied prospectively. 18 patients(34.6% of the total study population) had cTnI level above 0.5ng/ml. ECG was performed in 52 patients and was abnormal in 15 of the 52 patients(28.8%). Conclusion : The measurement of cTnI has provided physicians with a myocardial marker that has a cardiac sensitivity for cardiac injury equal to that of CK-MB yet with greater specificity. So, cardiac troponin I is useful to estimate the incidence of myocardial injury in patients with spontaneous SAH. And we may estimate the possibility of cardiac dysfunction in such patients. This knowledge will hopefully aid in the care and improve the outcome.

In this study, I scientifically analyzed the difference of manager's stress from working as the classification of the operating style, sex, age, schooling, marital status, the career of current office, the item in charge and duty that are related to the characteristic of social economy and population statistics. chiefly on the social gymnastics teachers who are working at sport centers classified as a total athletic facility among the athletic facility in Seoul area. Following is the conclusion from above analysis. 1)In 10 sentences of 4 factors about organization environment, they showed average 3.01 as the ordinary level grade distribution. They appeared positive in system and organization, similar proportion between positive and negative in recruit and compensation and negative in age limit system, working hour and the participatory rate of making decision. In the comparison of population statistic feature, the workers of membership system sport centers 3.25±0.73 proved more positive than the workers of popular system 2.78±0.83 and this showed very high notable distinction in P〈0.001. In the case of marital status, single respondents 3.26±0.90 proved higher than married ones 2.96±0.80 and it showed a prominent difference in P〈0.05 level. In the comparison of salary aspect, the worker who get the salary above 150 million won 3.57± 1.10 proved higher than the rest and it showed ,as a high level grade difference, a distinguished divergency in P〈0.05 level. Besides, there was no remarkable difference in the classification of sex, age, the career of current job and office, schooling, item in charge and position. 2)In the factor of duty environment, it showed rather higher level than ordinary as average 3.15 entirely. In personal relations, it appeared positive in the relation with co-workers and members, similar in be relation with manager, positive in duty, triviality and job concentration and negative in the matter of re-education, salary and welfare. 120-150 respondents of salary respect showed low grade distribution which is a remarkable divergence in P〈0.05 level. Besides, there was no outstanding discrimination in comparison of factors of sex, age, marital status, career of current job and office, schooling, item in charge and position. 3)In the individual factors, it was wholly average 3.23, rather higher level than ordinary. It proved positive in the progress and future of job and negative in the comparison of leader's image that he had thought of. There were many managers who wanted to transfer to other companies and a few to other items. In the question about job stress, there were many people who had once suffered from the stress of job and physical elements. In the comparison of item in charge, workers of the items(bowling, golf, tennis, racquetball, infant athletic and basketball) showed high grade and outstanding difference in P〈0.05 level and leaders in other items. Besides, there was no remarkable difference in the factor comparison of type of bussiness operation, sex, age, marital status, career of present job and office, schooling, position and salary.

In the present study, three-dimensional finite element analysis was performed to investigate the effects of internal wall thinning defect on the failure pressure of elbow in the piping system and to develop the failure pressure evaluation model. From the results of finite element analysis, the failure pressure was derived by employing local stress criteria, and the effects of thinning location, bend radius, and defect geometry on the failure pressure of internally wall thinned elbow were investigated. Also, based on these investigations and previous model developed to estimate the failure pressure of elbow with an external pitting defect, the failure pressure evaluation model to be applicable to the elbow containing an internal thinning defect was proposed and compared with the results of finite element analysis. The failure pressure calculated by the model agreed well with the results of finite element analysis.

최근 한국에서의 맑스주의 연구동향과 전망

The purpose of this study is to examine the main currents of recent Korean Marxism concerning with the collapse of real socialism. The impact of 1989-1991 and its symptoms accelated the discussion of "crisis of Marxism", and that resulted in the transformation of ideological terrain in Korea. Firstly, post-Marxism represent the trends of renovation or re-systematization through the 'radical pluralism', 'radical democracy', 'post-liberalism'. It's main theme focuses on 'new social movement' about women liberation, environment, anti-war, anti-nuclear, human rights etc. Then it argues upon the decline of class struggle grounding on class struggle model in modern capitalist society. Moreover the failure of 'real Socialism' is justified the inadequacy of Commnuism as a counter ideology for mankind historically and emphirically. Especially post-Marxist in Korea regards the bankruptcy of 'real Socialim' as the bakruptcy of not only the Stalism but also the Marxism itself. Secondly, Althusserianism recognize the irreversibilty of 'the crisis of Marxism'. But this school seeks for the rehabilitation of Marxism through the rediscovering of Marxism's historical, constituent contradiction, and that they seek to transform Marxism as a critical and revolutionaly proletarian class's theory. Their main argument is that Marxism's deep crisis in today comes from the transformation of socialist party into capitalist state. Moreover the party for mass has oppressed mass's struggles and political practice. Here is a great transformation that occurs the deep crisis of Marxism. Thirdly, Trotskyism which is led by 'Socialist Worker's Party' in England do not comprend the collapse of real Socialism as the resurrection of Capitalism. Tonny Cliff who leads this school argues that socialism has not existed in the world after 1928. That which has existed from 1928 to now was stateowership and 'plan economy' of certain kind, and that there has not realized true Socialism which stems from classical Marxism. Cliff difines the Stalinist regime as 'bureaucratically State Capitalism' and argues that there has been progressed the accumulation for accumulation which characterized the capitalist world economy. Thus he insists that the collapse of real Socialism gives revolutionary Socialist the oppurtinity for ressurection of socialist thought as worker's class's self-emancipation.

The frog retina is composed of 10 histologic layers, which consist two types of photore-ceptor cells (rod and cone) and four types of nerve cells (bipolar, ganglion, horizontal, and amacrine cell). The photoreceptor cells are classified as rod or cone cells, according to th-eir shape, and these cells consist of outer segment and inner segment. The outer segment of the photoreceptor cells contain dense stacks of membranes in which the photosensitive vis-ual pigment proteins are. The long outer segment of rod cells are formed vertical or horizontal fold, but not short cone cells. The cytoplasm of the inner segment of photoreceptor cells contain mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex, and ribosome. Especially, the cytoplasm of cone cells contain numerous dense glycogne particles and a large lipid droplet. These ultrastructure of photoreceptor cells are associated with the synthesis of energy which is required for photoreceptive process and the formation of new layers of photorec eptive membrane disk.

A marine seismic exploration with the 400Hz bubble pulser 1200 system was carried out The seismic survey was conducted along the 5 survey lines(total length of 4km), and the aim of this survey was to profile depth of sediment layer and bedrock with SINCDAS(Single Channel Data Acquisition System) developed by this study. The field data is displayed with variabel-density method and compared with borehole log to confirm accuracy of seismic data interpretation. The subsurface structure consists of the upper clay layer and the lower silt-clay layer. But the bedrock depth is not found because of extremely shallow survey depth and multiple reflections.

A snake model, proposed by Kass et al., may yield different forms of image contours depending on an energy functional being minimized and a minimization procedure used. This paper addresses the problem of minimizing the energy functional so that a resulting snake may represent desired image contours. We show that good results can be obtained by shaking a search area over which an energy functional is to be minimized.
