An electric field due to point dipole within conductor-backed thin dielectric layer above the earth is calculated by using saddle point method When the dielectric layer is thin enough to support a cutoff mdoe, we show that the field may be approximated by sum of contributions of branch points of TE mode and poles of tM mode and that the branch points and poles contributions are interpreted as an evanescent lateral waves and leaky waves, respectively.
1P-714 Strength change of inorganic binder according to ceramic additives and its application

The use of inorganic binders, which generate little harmful substances compared to organic binders, has been increasing worldwide. Although inorganic binders are known to be excellent in heat resistance and durability, they are very vulnerable to moisture resistance and cannot be used in high temperature and high humidity environment such as summer in Korea. Ceramics have excellent abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Particularly, it has higher strength at high temperature, low thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient, but has no adhesion. Therefore, many studies have been carried out to increase the adhesive strength through the addition of a binder or surface modification. This study discusses the variation of strength of a mixture of typical ceramics such as alumina, silica, and aluminosilica with an inorganic binder. In addition, the thermal stability of the mixture was confirmed by casting into cast steel.

Engineering education accreditation, such as by ABEEK in Korea or ABET in USA, centers around outcomes-based education (OBE). Outcomes are the abilities or competencies which students are expected to achieve by the time of graduation. Engineering programs must design the curriculum, educate their students, and assess the performance of them in accordance with the program outcomes. Consequently, sound understanding of the program outcomes is crucial to the successful implementation of OBE. Most of the 12 outcomes of ABEEK KEC2005 criteria came from ABET criteria written in English. It means that, apart from sound understanding of the outcomes, we need to care about the correct translation of the ABET outcomes from English to Korean. The translation of them as in KEC2005, however, leaves something to be desired. This paper tries to present the correct translation of some program outcomes as well as sound understanding of a few outcomes difficult to define.
프랙탈 이론을 이용한 433MHz 대역의 RFID 태그 안테나 개발

본 논문에서 는 컨테이너용 RFID로 이용할 수 있는 433MHz 대역의 RFID 태그용 안테나를 제안하고자 한다. 마이크로스트립 형태로 안테나를 제작하였고, 프랙탈 이론을 적용하여 크기를 축소할 수가 있었다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 433MHz 주파수에서 반사손실이 -20.9dB, 이득이 -3dB를 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 시뮬레이션 결과와 제작된 안테나의 측정결과에는 약간의 차이가 있었으나, 급전부 위치를 수정하여 반사손실을 -l5dB 되도록 하여 설계 제작된 안테나의 실용 가능성을 입증할 수 있었다. In this paper, we present RFID Tag Antenna at 433MHz which can be available for RFID system. The antenna is composed of microstrip type antenna, whose dimension could be reduced by applying fractal theory. Simulated return loss and gain at 433MHz are -20.9dB, -3dBi. But there are some deviation on the point of resonance frequency between simulated and measured results. By modifying the antenna's feeding point, we obtain - l5dB return loss and verify the utility of proposed antenna.
