Recently many automobile companies are developing parking assist system as it improves the convenience of drivers. Among several types of parking assistance system, the method using ultrasonic sensors for detecting parking space is widely used because of its low cost and usefulness. In order to detect the parking space, the parking space detection algorithm provides the width and the length of the parking space using long range ultrasonic sensor. In this paper, to detect the accurate parking space with the curbstone, the curbstone detection algorithm is proposed. The performances of the proposed algorithm are verified and evaluated by experiments.
Genomic Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2: Distribution of Clades in the Republic of Korea in 2020

Since a novel beta-coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first reported in December 2019, there has been a rapid global spread of the virus. Genomic surveillance was conducted on samples isolated from infected individuals to monitor the spread of genetic variants of SARS-CoV-2 in Korea. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency performed whole genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 in Korea for 1 year (January 2020 to January 2021). A total of 2,488 SARS-CoV-2 cases were sequenced (including 648 cases from abroad). Initially, the prevalent clades of SARS-CoV-2 were the S and V clades, however, by March 2020, GH clade was the most dominant. Only international travelers were identified as having G or GR clades, and since the first variant 501Y.V1 was identified (from a traveler from the United Kingdom on December 22nd, 2020), a total of 27 variants of 501Y.V1, 501Y.V2, and 484K.V2 have been classified (as of January 25th, 2021). The results in this study indicated that quarantining of travelers entering Korea successfully prevented dissemination of the SARS-CoV-2 variants in Korea.

Objective: Lung segmentation using volumetric quantitative computed tomography (CT) analysis may help predict outcomes of patients with coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between CT volumetric quantitative analysis and prognosis in patients with COVID-19. Materials and Methods: CT images from patients diagnosed with COVID-19 from February 18 to April 15, 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. CT with a negative finding, failure of quantitative analysis, or poor image quality was excluded. CT volumetric quantitative analysis was performed by automated volumetric methods. Patients were stratified into two risk groups according to CURB-65: mild (score of 0–1) and severe (2–5) pneumonia. Outcomes were evaluated according to the critical event-free survival (CEFS). The critical events were defined as mechanical ventilator care, ICU admission, or death. Multivariable Cox proportional hazards analyses were used to evaluate the relationship between the variables and prognosis. Results: Eighty-two patients (mean age, 63.1 ± 14.5 years; 42 females) were included. In the total cohort, male sex (hazard ratio [HR], 9.264; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.021–42.457; p = 0.004), C-reactive protein (CRP) (HR, 1.080 per mg/dL; 95% CI, 1.010–1.156; p = 0.025), and COVID-affected lung proportion (CALP) (HR, 1.067 per percentage; 95% CI, 1.033– 1.101; p < 0.001) were significantly associated with CEFS. CRP (HR, 1.164 per mg/dL; 95% CI, 1.006–1.347; p = 0.041) was independently associated with CEFS in the mild pneumonia group (n = 54). Normally aerated lung proportion (NALP) (HR, 0.872 per percentage; 95% CI, 0.794–0.957; p = 0.004) and NALP volume (NALPV) (HR, 1.002 per mL; 95% CI, 1.000–1.004; p = 0.019) were associated with a lower risk of critical events in the severe pneumonia group (n = 28). Conclusion: CRP in the mild pneumonia group; NALP and NALPV in the severe pneumonia group; and sex, CRP, and CALP in the total cohort were independently associated with CEFS in patients with COVID-19.
How Followers and Leaders can Make a Difference:

Recent leadership studies point to the importance of taking followership into account when assessing leadership effectiveness. Accordingly, we develop and test a theoretical framework in which to examine the moderating role of participative versus directive leadership in the relationship between followership behaviors and job satisfaction. Focusing on data drawn from the 2012 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS), the study finds strong evidence that the effects of followership behaviors on job satisfaction were contingent on leadership styles. More importantly, the results showed that followers who actively engage in their work and demonstrate a high level of independent critical thinking derived greater job satisfaction where participative leadership was higher. By contrast, the role of participative leadership may be perceived as less effective when knowledge sharing and cooperation among employees already exists. This study offers insights into how leaders should interact with followers, and identifies the situations in which a particular leadership style can have positive consequences for employee job satisfaction.
자율 주행 차량의 사고 예방을 위한 통합 알림 시스템 제안-운전자 부주의로 인한 사고를 중심으로-

최근 자율주행 차량 운전자들의 '부주의 행동'으로 인한 사고가 지속적으로 발생하고 있으며, 다 양한 관점에서 이에 대한 연구가 수행되고 있다. 본 연구는 운전자의 부주의로 인해 발생하는 자율주 행 차량 사고 상황을 사용자의 관점에서 분석하고, 사고를 예방할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 사고의 요인이 발생하는 위치(차량 내부/외부)를 기준으로 사고 상황을 [Case 1, 2]로 분류하였으며, 사용자 의 인지와 행동 단위로 상황을 분석해 각 단계에 맞는 사고 예방 시스템을 구성하고 시스템에 활용되 는 청각알림의 분류를 제안하였다. 본 연구는 운전자의 인지과정을 중심으로 자율주행 차량의 사고를 분석하고 빠른 인지-행동 수행을 위한 청각 알림 시스템을 제안하였다는데 의의가 있다. Recently, accidents caused by 'inattentive behavior' of autonomous vehicle drivers have been occurring continuously, and studies have been conducted from various perspectives. This study analyzes the situation of autonomous vehicle accidents caused by driver inattention from the user's perspective and proposes a system that can prevent accidents. We classified the accident situation into [Case 1, 2] based on the location where the factors of the accident occur (inside/outside the vehicle), and analyzed the situation in units of user's perception and behavior to construct an accident prevention system for each stage, and proposed a classification of auditory notifications used in the system. The significance of this study is that it analyzed the accident of autonomous vehicles centered on the driver's cognitive process and proposed an auditory notification system for quick cognition and action.

<P>The efficiency of an AlGaN deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diode with peak emission wavelength of 285 nm is investigated as a function of current over a wide range of temperatures (110 K to 300 K). We find that the efficiency-versus-current curve exhibits unique and distinct features over the entire temperature range including three points of inflection. At low temperatures, the change in slope in the efficiency-versus-current curve is particularly pronounced producing a minimum in the efficiency after which the efficiency rises again. Furthermore, at high current density, the low-temperature efficiency exceeds the room-temperature efficiency. The feature-rich efficiency-versus-current curve is consistent with an enhancement in p-type conductivity by field-ionization of acceptors that occurs in the high-injection regime and is particularly pronounced at low temperatures. Differential conductivity measurements show a marked rise in the high-injection regime that is well correlated to the minimum point in the efficiency-versus-current curve.</P>
