Background: Genetic alterations have been identified in melanomas according to different levels of sun exposure. Whereas the conventional morphology-based classification provides a clue for tumor growth and prognosis, the new classification by genetic alterations offers a basis for targeted therapy. Objective: The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the biological behavior of melanoma subtypes and compare the two classifications in the Korean population. Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed on patients found to have malignant melanoma in Severance Hospital from 2005 to 2012. Age, sex, location of the tumor, histologic subtype, tumor depth, ulceration, lymph node invasion, visceral organ metastasis, and overall survival were evaluated. Results: Of the 206 cases, the most common type was acral melanoma (n=94, 45.6%), followed by nonchronic sun damage-induced melanoma (n=43, 20.9%), and mucosal melanoma (n=40, 19.4%). Twenty-one patients (10.2%) had the chronic sun-damaged type, whereas eight patients (3.9%) had tumors of unknown primary origin. Lentigo maligna melanoma was newly classified as the chronic sun-damaged type, and acral lentiginous melanoma as the acral type. More than half of the superficial spreading melanomas were newly grouped as nonchronic sun-damaged melanomas, whereas nodular melanoma was rather evenly distributed. Conclusion: The distribution of melanomas was largely similar in both the morphology-based and sun exposure-based classifications, and in both classifications, mucosal melanoma had the worst 5-year survival owing to its tumor thickness and advanced stage at the time of diagnosis. The purpose of this article is to examine the feasibility of soybean and corn futures to find the implication from the analysis results. This study finds that corn and soybean are qualified based on the success conditions such as volatility, hedging demand, trading volume etc. However, soybean has to examined more with respect to the industrial organization. U.S. standards for corn and soybean's grade has to be used. Also marketing and corporation with the government will be strongly required. Finally, if the corn futures is introduced in the korean futures market, the trade volume of the futures market, the various risk management, and investment opportunity is to be increased. Thus the consumer and producer's benefit should be increased.

This paper examines the effectiveness of generic commodity promotion programs by estimating the demand elasticities of advertisement. Focusing on possible changes in terms of advertisement strategies(from generic to brand advertisement), we model the effects of generic advertising on milk demand using a dummy variable approach. This allows us to test a hypothesis concerning changes in the effects of advertisement in promoting milk consumption. Estimation results show that demand elasticity of advertisement is estimated to be smaller in the brand advertising regime than the generic advertising regime. It is indicated that milk imports play an important role in characterizing two different regimes structural changes in milk consumption take place when the imported amount of milk is significant.
Probit 분석을 통한 옥수수 선물 시장의 참여가능성 분석

The purpose of the article is to examine the probability of trading the Corn Futures. The research methods include the field survey and the econometric analysis, called Probit analysis, based on the survey data.. The result of probit analysis show that the wider a risk ratio is, the lower is the probability of the participation in the futures market. And the more knowledge, the more interest and the more affirmative thinking is, the higher is the probability of the participation. Also the increase of the purchasing frequency and a ratio of trade volume on the futures market raise the probability of the participation.

This work has concerned the possibility to apply both direct and indirect electrolysis process for the treatment of waste containing poliaromatic compounds. Two different kinds of electrode materials have been used: DSA-type anodes to carry out direct electrolysis and carbon felt cathodes to ferform indirect electrolysis. On the contrary, in the case of the tested wastewater especially containing naphthalen- and anthraquinon sulphonic compounds they do not seem to be very suitable materials. Better results have been achieved using the carbon felt cathodes. In this case the COD of the tested wastewater can be remarkably decreased using H_2O_2 as oxidation agent.

The number of workers with noise induced hearing loss which comprise 56.9% in the total number of workers with work-related diseases in Korea of 1994, are becoming in position of the most serious problem. Periodic health examination system which was introduced for health care of workers on hazardous workplace has played important role in health care and the prevention of work-related diseases. The goal of periodic health examination may be obtained when we not only discover occupational disease, but also control them effectively. To study the post-examination health status of workers with noise induced hearing loss diagnosed from 1991 to 1994 in the periodic health examination, all 154 workers in 102 manufacturing factories in Banwol and Siwha industrial complex were reviewed. 1. Among 154 workers, 87 workers(56.5%) were changed to different department, 67 workers(43.5%) remained in the same department. 2. Among 102 workplaces, only 23 workplaces(22.9%) had changed their working environment while 79 workplaces(77.1%) did not. 3. In this study, post-examination health care of the workers diagnosed as noise induced hearing loss had significant correlated with the presence of health care manager, Industrial Health and Safety Committee in workplace and size of industry. The improvement of working environment is also closely related with the presence of health care manager in workplace. 4. Among 154 respondents, 3 workers(1.9%) had received compensation while 151 workers(98.1%) did not. 5. The reasons for not requesting the compensation were that 117 workers(77.5%) were ignorant of the administrative procedure for compensation, 30 workers(19.9%) were not sure of receiving compensation, 4 workers(2.6%) were busy. Considering the result of this study, we must establish the guide of management or contents of post management for noise induced hearing loss. To prevent the noise induced hearing loss, and protect the workers with noise induced hearing loss, education about post management is much required for employer and employee.

The results that the membrane bioreactor allows the treatment of ammonia and part of the COD, with a limited production of sludges. The elimination yields observed on the membrane bioreactor are high, starting from a biologicaly equilibrated efflent, since the ratio C/N/P is slightly deficient in P. The Chemical Oxygen Demand and Total Organic Carbon are climinated more than 70%. The Nitrification rate nears 98% despite the important variability of the ammonia concentrations inside the raw leachate. The Suspended Solids are eliminated 100% thanks to the microfiltration membrane.
