Field survey for oceanographic conditions and the seasonal succession of phytoplanktan were carried out in the Hamdok port from April 1989 to February 1990. Water temperature ranged between 11.4℃ in January and 27.3℃ in August, and salinity fluctuated greatly, with a maximum of 35.6960 in August and minimum of 21.8% in April. A total of 120 species of phytoplankton belonging to 69 genera were observed in which, at least, 8 genera, Oxyphysis, Amphidinium, Cochlodinium, Torodinium, Nematodinium, Katodinium, Ebria and streptoheca are first records in the Cheju coastal waters. The predominant species are centric diatoms. Skeletonema costatum, Chaetoceros spp. through the year, while they are unarmoured phytoflagellates, Heterasigma akashiwo, Gymnodiniurn sp., Gyrodinium sp. in warmer seasons. And phytoplankton cell number fluctuated between 4.1~10^(3) cells/l in winter and 2.4~10^(4) cells/l in spring blooms, and it was under the control of centric diatoms for a year. On the other hand, it is occupied by phytoflagellates including some unarmoured dinoflagellates in summer season.

Numerous studies show that acupuncture stimulation increases experimental pain threshold in various animal species. It has been suggested that the acupuncture analgesic effects could be mediated by endogenous opioid system. However, the analgesic effect on the rat in response to electroacupuncture(EA) shows marked individual variations. Individual variations in effectiveness(IVE) of acupuncture analgesia has frequently provoked clinical troubles. The intrinsic mechanisms that cause IVE are an interesting subject for the study. The purpose of this study is to identify and characterize genes that cause differences between the responder and non-responder upon EA treatments using cDNA microarray. Sprague-Dawley male rats were stimulated at the zusanli(ST36) acupoint, then the tail flick latency (TFL) test was performed to classify the responder and non-responder group. Among the 19 rats tested, the ratio of responder group to non-responder group was 6:4. The hypothalamus of each group was dissected and mRNA was further purified. After synthesizing cDNA using oligo-dT primer, the cDNA were applied to Incyte rat GEMTM 2 microarray chips. The microarray results show that genes such as Brain factor(BF)-1, a transcription factor essential for the proliferation of the progenitor cell of the cerebral cortex, Dopamine beta-hydroxylase and Phosphotidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase which play a major role in catecholamine synthesis, are expressed abundantly in the responder group, whereas tau and cathepsin B, which are neurodegeration markers are abundant in the non-responder group. These results suggest that the sensitivity of EA mediated analgesic effects are closely related with neurodegeneration of the brain.
[P528] A case of digital mucous cyst treated by surgical ligation with use of methylene blue dye
( Seung Gi Hong ),( Sung Eun Song ),( Sun Young Jo ),( Eun Phil Heo ),( Ki Woong Rho ) 대한피부과학회 2017 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.69 No.1
Digital mucous cyst (DMC) is relatively common, benign pseudocysts of the digits typically located at the distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) or in the proximal nail fold caused by leakage of fluid from the joint into the surrounding tissues. DMCs present as solitary, and round to oval cystic nodular lesion on the digits of the hand. Various modalities such as aspiration of cyst, cryosurgery, CO2 laser therapy, surgical excision and surgical ligation are applied to treat DMC. Among them, surgical ligation is considered a effective therapy of DMCs because of its high cure rate. It is important to identify the site of the communication between the DIPJ and the cyst. Injection of methylene blue into the DIPJ is helpful to identify the site. This case is about 47-year-old female patient who had been diagnosed as DMC and underwent cryotherapy at 2 years before visiting our clinic. However, DMC was not cured, and she visited our hospital. We attempted to treat cysts by sealing the leakage point. Methylene blue dye is first injected into the DIPJ. Then, a skin flap is raised around the cyst to find the area of dye-filled communication between the joint space and the cyst. This communication is then sutured and the flap is dropped back into place without tissue resection. Methylene blue injection is a convenient method for the complete removal of highly relapsing DMC.
[P361] A case of basal cell epithelioma in the nail bed
( Seung Gi Hong ),( Sung Eun Song ),( Sun Young Jo ),( Ki Woong Rho ),( Eun Phil Heo ) 대한피부과학회 2017 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.69 No.1
Basal cell epithelioma (BCE) is the most common cutaneous malignancy. Most of the BCE occur in the head or neck. Nail bed BCEs have been seldomly reported so far. It is sometimes difficult for clinicians to diagnose BCE in other less commonly affected locations, because BCE mimic the signs of other cutaneous diseases. The nail bed tumor contains verruca, pyogenic granuloma, glomus tumor, fibromas, myxoid cysts, angiofibromas, epidermoid cysts, BCE, squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and malignant melanoma. Neoplasms of the nail bed may often present with paronychia, ingrown nail, onycholysis, nail-plate dystrophy, erythronychia, bleeding, discolorations, pain, itching, and throbbing. Our case is about a patients with nail bed BCE. He had experienced trauma on right 1st finger nail, and solitary vertical line was shown on same area at ten years after trauma. He did not received any treatment at that time. However, he visited the hospital because discharge occurred in the lesion, three months before the visit and finally, BCE was diagnosed. Most nail unit BCCs occur on the thumb in men, so chronic trauma has been suggested as a predisposing factor. Therefore, early biopsy is strongly recommended for all nail unit lesions if there are atypical features in appearance, disease courses, or response to therapy.
