Hot Carrier Effect in Low-Temperature Poly-Si TFTs with Sputtered Gate SiO2 Films

We investigated the reliability of low-temperature poly-Si thin film transistor (TFT) by using Si films and gate oxides fabricated by using RF sputtering method. To evaluate the immunity against the hot carrier effect, we imposed DC and dynamic stress on the sputtered TFT. We found that reliability was higher than it was a conventional TFT. The sputtered TFT showed very little degradation. Observation by emission microscope was performed to analyze their strong immunity. In a conventional TFT, emission was observed only at the drain edge. However, in sputtered TFT, emission was observed not only at the drain edge but also at the source edge. We proposed a model explaining the emission in a sputtered TFT. To prove this model, we examined the emission in a SOI TFT. A similar emission mode supports our model. Sputtered TFTs are very promising for next generation.?
A Novel Chlorophyll d-containing Organism: Discovery and its Significance
Murakami, Akio,Kawai, Hiroshi,Adachi, Kyoko,Sakawa, Takahiro,Miyashita, Hideaki,Mimuro, Mamoru Korean Society of Photoscience 2002 Journal of Photosciences Vol.9 No.2
Chlorophyll (Chi) d was assigned to an antenna pigment of red algae in 1943, but its presence and function in red algae have not been necessarily clear for a long time. In 1996, it was shown that Chi d functioned as a major antenna pigment in a peculiar oxygenic photosynthetic prokaryote, Acaryochloris marina, isolated as a symbiont of a colonial ascidian from coral reefs. This finding evoked the necessity for reexamination of the presence and function of Chi d in red algae. We found Chi d in methanol-extract from several marine red algae, and the relative content was high in one species, Ahnfeltiopsis flabelliformis. Absorption and fluorescence spectra, HPLC analysis, and NMR and mass spectroscopy characterized Chi d extracted from the red algal thalli, and those were essentially identical to those of Chi d isolated from A. marina. However, micro-spectrophotometric analysis suggested that Chi d was not an actual constituent of the red algae but came from epiphyte(s) attached to surface of red algal thalli.

Background: Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) is a multifunctional cellular protein and playing a role as a central mediator in tissue remodeling and fibrosis. The physiological function of CTGF in psoriasis is unknown. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the function of CTGF in psoriasis using the established imiquimod (IMQ)- induced psoriasis murine model and psoriasis patients. Methods: Anti-CTGF monoclonal antibody was applied to IMQ induced psoriasis mice and those skin were clinically, pathologically and immunologically analyzed. Additionally, CTGF expression was analyzes using skin samples and plasma from psoriasis patients. Results: CTGF expression was observed in the dermis from both IMQ-induced psoriatic mice and psoriasis patients. CTGF inhibition using an anti-CTGF antibody slightly worsened IMQ-induced dermatitis. In addition, the increase of CTGF showed tendency to suppress the psoriatic dermatitis through inhibition of suprabasal cells proliferation and macrophage infiltration in the skin. CTGF was also detected significantly higher in plasma from psoriasis patients comparing with healthy control. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that CTGF could contribute to the healing rather than the worsening of psoriasis skin lesions. (Ann Dermatol 30(1) 47∼53, 2018)
