        염산테트라싸이클린을 이용한 치근면처리의 효과

        김은정,허익,이만섭,권영혁,Kim, Eun-Jung,Heer, Yeek,Lee, Man-Sup,Kwon, Young-Hyuk 대한치주과학회 2000 Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science Vol.30 No.1

Root conditioning has introduced to dissolve the smear layer and to produce surface demineralization, resulting to exposure of dentin collagen fibril and opening of dentinal tubules. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of different concentration and application time of tetracycline-HCL on root conditioning. Total 40 root specimen were prepared from 20 periodontitis-prone human single rooted tooth. The specimen were treated with tetracycline-HCL solution(20mg/ml, 50mg/ml, 100mg/ml)for 20 sec, 3 min, 5 min., and saline for 30 sec. The application method was rubbing method with cotton pellet. Under the scanning electron microscopy(20KV), the extent of smear removal and opening of the dentinal tubules were examined at x 3000. The following results were obtained. 1. Treatment of root specimen with saline did not remove the smear layer and open the dentinal tubules. 2. Treatment of root specimen with different concentration of tetracycline-HCL for 20 sec also did not remove the smear layer completely. 3. Treatment of root specimen with different concentration of tetracycline-HCL for 3 min opened the dentinal tubules and removed smear layer. 4. Treatment of root specimen with 50mg/ml of tetracycline-HCL for 3 min showed collagen fibril within the opened dentinal tubules. In conclusion, the effect of root conditioning with tetracycline-HCL is more dependent on the application time than the application concentration. Root conditioning with 50mg/ml tetracycline-HCL for 3 min is enough for obtaining the periodontal regeneration.

Tunable HMF hydrogenation to furan diols in a flow reactor using Ru/C as catalyst

Sara Fulignati,Claudia Antonetti,Erwin Wilbers,Domenico Licursi,Hero Jan Heeres,Anna Maria Raspolli Galletti 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.100 No.-

5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), accessible from various feedstocks, represents an important renewableplatform-chemical, precursor for valuable biofuels and bio-based chemicals. In this work, the continuoushydrogenation of an aqueous solution of HMF to give strategic monomers, 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan(BHMF) and 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydrofuran (BHMTHF) was investigated in a continuous flowreactor adopting a commercial Ru/C (5 wt%) as catalyst. The influence of the main process variables onproducts yield and selectivity was studied and optimized. The highest BHMF and BHMTHF yields of 87.9and 93.7 mol%, respectively, were achieved by tuning the catalyst contact time, keeping all other variablesconstant (temperature, pressure, hydrogen flow rate, initial HMF concentration). Intraparticle diffusionlimitation for hydrogen and HMF was shown to occur at some of the tested conditions by performing theHMF hydrogenation with different catalyst particle sizes, confirmed by calculations. Constant catalystactivity was observed up to 6 h time-on-stream and then gradually reduced. Fresh and spent catalystcharacterization showed no significant sintering and negligible leaching of ruthenium during time-onstream. A decrease of the specific surface area was observed, mainly due to humin deposition which islikely the reason for catalyst deactivation. Catalyst performance could be restored to initial values by athorough washing of the catalyst.

2000 Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science Vol.30 No.3

The 3 beagle dogs aged over one and half years and weighed 14 to 16 Kg were utilized in this study. Horizontal furcation defects were induced around 3rd, and 4th premolars bilaterally. BMP-4 in conjunction with EGF and BMP-4 only were applied in the right and left premolars respectively. 1 animal was sacrificed at 2nd week, 4th week, and 8th week, after regenerative surgery respectively. Semi-thin sections using glass-knife were stained with hematoxylin- eosin and trichrome for light microscopic study. The results were as follows : 1 . The long junctional epithelial downgrowth was observed in both area applied with BMP-4 and with BMP-4 and EGF at 2nd week after the surgery. 2 . The extensive regeneration of new bone and cementum was appeared at 4th week and the maturation of bone was observed at 8th week in both area applied with BMP-4 and with BMP-4 and EGF. 3 . The root ankylosis and resorption was presented along the exposed root surface at the coronal 1/3 of defect in the BMP-4 applied site, but it was not shown in the site applied with BMP-4 in conjunction with EGF at the 4th week. At 8th week, the root ankylosis was apparently appeared in the BMP-4 and EGF applied site as well as in the BMP-4 applied site. 4 . The periodontal ligament tissue including Sharpey's fiber inserted into cementum and alveolar bone, was formed along the exposed root surface in the area applied with BMP-4 only, but in the site applied with BMP-4 and EGF, the collagen fiber running parallel to the root surface without Sharpey's fiber, was observed in the periodontal ligament space at 4th and 8th week. Within the above results, BMP-4 had the remarkable capability to regenerate the periodontal tissue and EGF had possibility to prevent from the root ankylosis. Therefore, growth factors including BMP-4 and EGF may have the strong possibility to be utilized in the clinical periodontal treatments.

2000 Journal of Periodontal & Implant Science Vol.30 No.1

The purpose of this study was performed to evaluate the effect of Armeniacae Semen extracts on human gingival fibroblasts and periodontal ligament cells in vitro. A experiment was done to evaluate the effect of Armeniacae Semen extracts in high glucose media. $400mg/d{\ell}$ glucose was added to the culture media of all groups. In control group, the cells($4.5{\times}10^4cells/ml$) were cultured with Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium contained with 10% fetal bovine serum. In experimental groups, Armeniacae Semen extracts was added to the above culture media at the final concentrations of $1{\mu}g/m{\ell}$(Test group 1) and $l0{\mu}g/m{\ell}$(Test group 2). Then each group was tested for the rate of cell proliferation at 1, 2, 5 days, protein levels at 2, 5 days, and alkaline phosphatase activity at 2, 5 days. The results were as follows ; 1. Under the high glucose condition 1)As centration of Armeniacae Semen extracts increased, the rate of cell proliferation decreased significantly in test group 2 at 5 days in human gingival fibroblasts, but increased significantly in test group 2 at 5 days in human periodontal ligament cells(P<0.05). 2)In human gingival fibroblasts, test group 2 showed significantly decreased protein levels as compared to control group at 5 days. In periodontal ligament cells, test group 1 and 2 showed not significantly increased protein levels as compared to control group at 2, 5 days(P<0.05). 3)Alkaline phosphatase activity of human periodontal ligament cells increased as concentration of Armeniacae Semen extracts increased. The test group 1and 2 showed significant increase as compared to control group at 5 days(P<0.05). From the above results, Armeniacae Semen extracts appeared to enhance cellular activities including the rate of cell proliferation, protein levels and alkaline phosphatase activity of selectively human periodontal ligament cells in high glucose media. This study suggests that Armeniacae Semen extracts seem to be able to subside the inflammation of periodontal tissue and regenerate the destructed periodontal tissue.

      • High-resolution tunnelling spectroscopy of a graphene quartet

        Song, Young Jae,Otte, Alexander F.,Kuk, Young,Hu, Yike,Torrance, David B.,First, Phillip N.,de Heer, Walt A.,Min, Hongki,Adam, Shaffique,Stiles, Mark D.,MacDonald, Allan H.,Stroscio, Joseph A. Nature Publishing Group, a division of Macmillan P 2010 Nature Vol.467 No.7312

Electrons in a single sheet of graphene behave quite differently from those in traditional two-dimensional electron systems. Like massless relativistic particles, they have linear dispersion and chiral eigenstates. Furthermore, two sets of electrons centred at different points in reciprocal space (??valleys??) have this dispersion, giving rise to valley degeneracy. The symmetry between valleys, together with spin symmetry, leads to a fourfold quartet degeneracy of the Landau levels, observed as peaks in the density of states produced by an applied magnetic field. Recent electron transport measurements have observed the lifting of the fourfold degeneracy in very large applied magnetic fields, separating the quartet into integer and, more recently, fractional levels. The exact nature of the broken-symmetry states that form within the Landau levels and lift these degeneracies is unclear at present and is a topic of intense theoretical debate. Here we study the detailed features of the four quantum states that make up a degenerate graphene Landau level. We use high-resolution scanning tunnelling spectroscopy at temperatures as low as 10??mK in an applied magnetic field to study the top layer of multilayer epitaxial graphene. When the Fermi level lies inside the fourfold Landau manifold, significant electron correlation effects result in an enhanced valley splitting for even filling factors, and an enhanced electron spin splitting for odd filling factors. Most unexpectedly, we observe states with Landau level filling factors of 7/2, 9/2 and 11/2, suggestive of new many-body states in graphene.
