온라인 오피니언 리더의 담론 유형 탐구 : ‘세종시’ 관련 인터넷 토론방 다음 아고라 ‘선도의견’을 중심으로

본 연구는 2009년과 2010년 뜨거운 이슈였던 ‘세종시’ 문제와 관련, 인터넷 포털다음(Daum)의 토론방 ‘아고라’에서 활동한 온라인 오피니언 리더들의 게시글 담론을 분석했다. 엔트만의 4가지 프레임 유형과 선전분석연구소의 7가지 선전 기법을 대입해 탐구한 결과, 선도의견(Leading Opinion)들은 프레임 유형 중 ‘문제정의’를 가장 많이 활용했으며, 선전 기법 중에서는 ‘매도하기’를 제일 많이 사용했다. 프레임 간 중복 코딩을 통해 살펴본 바에 따르면, ‘문제정의’ 없이 ‘인과적 해석’, ‘도덕적 평가’, ‘해결책 제시’ 프레임이 등장한 경우가 발견돼 온라인상의 선도의견은 상황에 대한 정확한 정보 없이도 인과관계를 전달하거나, 감정적 판단을 내리고, 정책 대안을 제기하는 등 논리 전개에 비약이 있다는 해석이 가능했다. 한편 선전 기법 중에서는 ‘매도하기’, ‘증언’, ‘부화뇌동’, ‘카드 속임수’ 등 4가지 기법이 각각 2개 이상의 다른 기법들과 중복 사용됐다. 선도의견들은 자신들의 주장을 강조하기 위해 다른 입장을 폄하하거나, 편향성을 가진 정치인의 발언 또는 특정 통계 등을 복합적으로 활용한 것이다. 연구진은 탐구 결과를 바탕으로, 프레임 유형과 선전분석 기법의 상호 연관성에 대한 후속 연구를 촉구했다. The study examines the discourses of opinion leaders regarding the ‘Sejong City’ issue, which were posted on the discussion board of ‘Agora’ in the internet portal ‘Daum’, around the year of 2010, when the ‘Sejong City’ was one of the hottest issues. Applying the 4 types of frame projected by Entman and 7 propaganda methods established by the Institute for Propaganda Analysis to the discourses in Agora, the study found that the discourses used ‘problem definition’ frame and ‘name calling’ propaganda methods most frequently. Furthermore, the discourses used ‘causal diagnosis’ ‘moral judgment’ and ‘remedy suggestion’ frames without defining problems. It seems to tell that the online opinion leaders transfer messages mingled with emotional conclusions without rational causalities. At the same time, when the methods of ‘name calling’ ‘testimonial’ ‘bandwagon’ and ‘cardstacking’ being used, they were overlapped with more than two other propaganda methods. It suggests that the complex combinations of propaganda methods were used by the online opinion leaders in order to enforce their opinionated arguments. The study recommends further analysis to find the detailed characters of the online discourses by exploring the relationship between the types of frame and methods of propaganda.

Focusing on traditional reporting and writing practices of journalism, this paper explored the features of investigative news articles about education-related issues of three major news dailies including Chosun Ilbo, Joongang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo. The results showed that the newspapers performed their investigative function relatively better in the aspect of reporting than in the aspect of writing. Indeed, the source diversity featured in their news gathering process needed to be enhanced. Nevertheless, they presented creativity showing more enthusiasm in digging out their own story ideas than in just following and developing the content given by the mundane news sources. On the other hand, in the aspect of writing, they demonstrated limited ability in organizing information to show bigger and orderly picture of the issues covered and failed to suggest solutions to the problems they furnished in their news stories. Compared to its counterparts, Joongang showed more positive signs in practicing investigative functions for both the reporting and writing aspects, because it more actively sought news ideas and less passively listed just the fragmentary information. The study expects that its results will further the fruitful discussion bearing feasible suggestions to better the investigative reporting and writing.
Computationally efficient architecture for ultrasound phase rotation beamforming

<P>A commonly used phase rotation beamforming (PRBF) technique in medical ultrasound scanners requires four multipliers to realise phase rotation (PR) in addition to two lowpass filters for quadrature demodulation for each channel. A new scheme is presented to reduce the computational complexity of PRBF without sacrificing image quality that uses only 16 PRs located behind inter-channel adders, regardless of the number of channels, each of which is dedicated for one of 16 quantised PR values using a step size of 2 pi/16.</P>

Tixagevimab/cilgavimab is a monoclonal antibody used to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 among immunocompromised hosts and maintained neutralizing activity against early omicron variants. Omicron BN.1 became a dominant circulating strain in Korea early 2023, but its susceptibility to tixagevimab/cilgavimab is unclear. We conducted plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) against BN.1 in a prospective cohort (14 patients and 30 specimens). BN.1 PRNT was conducted for one- and three-months after tixagevimab/ cilgavimab administration and the average PRNT ND50 of each point was lower than the positive cut-off value of 20 (12.9 ± 4.5 and 13.2 ± 4.2, respectively, P = 0.825). In the paired analyses, tixagevimab/cilgavimab-administered sera could not actively neutralize BN.1 (PRNT ND50 11.5 ± 2.9, P = 0.001), compared with the reserved activity against BA.5 (ND50 310.5 ± 180.4). Unlike virus-like particle assay, tixagevimab/cilgavimab was not active against BN.1 in neutralizing assay, and would not be effective in the present predominance of BA.2.75 sublineages.

<P>Recent advances in quantitative phase imaging (QPI) and artificial intelligence (AI) have opened up the possibility of an exciting frontier. The fast and label-free nature of QPI enables the rapid generation of large-scale and uniform-quality imaging data in two, three, and four dimensions. Subsequently, the AI-assisted interrogation of QPI data using data-driven machine learning techniques results in a variety of biomedical applications. Also, machine learning enhances QPI itself. Herein, we review the synergy between QPI and machine learning with a particular focus on deep learning. Furthermore, we provide practical guidelines and perspectives for further development.</P>

As an initial step to develop the transdermal delivery system of glucosamine hydrochloride (GL-HCl), the permeation study across the rat skin in vitro was performed to identify the most efficient vehicle with regard to the ability to deliver GL-HCl transdermally. The GL-HCl formulations such as o/w cream, liposome suspension, liposomal gel, and liquid crystalline vehicles were prepared and compared for transdermal flux of GL-HCl. The liquid crystalline vehicles were more effective in increasing the skin permeation of GL-HCl than o/w cream and liposomal vehicles. Of the liquid crystalline vehicles tested, the permeation enhancing ability of the cubic phase was greater than that of the hexagonal phase when the nanoparticle dispersion was used. The skin permeation enhancing ability of the cubic nanoparticles for GL-HCl was further increased by employing both oleic acid and polyethylene glycol 200. Therefore, the cubic liquid crystalline nanodispersion containing oleic acid and PEG 200 can provide a possibility of clinical application of transdermal GL-HCl.
