C. borivilianum was screened for the first time to determine its antioxidant activity, isolation of the sapogenins and standardization of the isolated sapogenin fraction using HPTLC. Potent antioxidantactivity of ethanolic extract was found by their ability to scavenge DPPH (84.51%), hydroxyl radical (48.95 %),feryl bi-pyridyl complex (84.53%) along with the inhibition of lipid peroxidation (67.17%) at 100g/mlconcentration. The ethanolic extract also exhibited significant inhibition of superoxide anion radical generated byplant in the traditional system especially its use as a Rasayana drug.

      • DCT and DWT Based Methods for Detecting Copy-Move Image Forgery: A Review

Anuja Dixit,Rahul Dixit,R. K. Gupta 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.10

Nowadays, as various image manipulation tools are available very easily. Any person having a little knowledge about these tools can doctor the available images. So digital images are no longer trusted. Computer graphics and digital photography have made the tampering over image easy to commit but hard to detect. Although various image forgery techniques are available but copy-move image forgery is one of the most hard to detect image forgery. In Copy-Move image forgery a segment from the original image is copied and after performing some manipulation over that, segment is pasted at some other location on the same image. This forgery is intended to hide noticeable information shown by the image or for adding information in original image to convey a wrong message. We cannot identify such forgery on the basis of incompatibilities present in an image because the copied segment is taken from the same image so the properties like noise, blur, texture, color palette remain similar to the original image. So, copy-move image forgery is a serious threat to Image forensic Investigators. Researchers have developed several methods for detecting such kind of forgery based on exhaustive search and block based methods. Block based method is more successful in detecting such kind of forgery due to its speed and less complexity. In this paper we discuss forgery detection techniques based on Discrete Cosine Transform and Discrete Wavelet Transform.

Growth and Characterization of Pulse Electrodeposited CuInSe2 Thin Films

        Dixit Prasher,Poolla Rajaram 대한금속·재료학회 2012 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.8 No.5

CuInSe2 thin films were grown on SnO2-coated glass substrates using the pulse electrodeposition (PED) technique. The CuInSe2 films were grown at different potentials using pulses of different frequencies ranging from 1 KHz to 1 MHz. The electrodeposited films were annealed in vacuum at 300°C, for 1 hr, to improve the crystallinity. The annealed films were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Analysis of x-rays (EDAX), and UV-VIS-NIR spectra. The results show that the electrodeposited CuInSe2 films have good stoichiometry and are single phase with an optical gap around 1 eV. SEM studies show that the films grown using pulses of frequency 1 KHz contain nanoparticles of size 50-60 nm, whereas those grown using pulses of frequency 100 KHz and 1 MHz contain micronsized particles.

Carbamoylated azithromycin incorporated zirconia hybrid monolith for enantioseparation of acidic chiral drugs using non-aqueous capillary electrochromatography

        Dixit, S.,Lee, I.S.,Park, J.H. Elsevier 2017 Journal of chromatography Vol.1507 No.-

<P>Carbamoylated derivatives of two antibiotics, namely, clindamycin phosphate (CLIP) and erythromycin (ERY) were successfully employed as co-precursors, in combination of zirconium tetrabutoxide as a precursor, to prepare chiral organic-zirconia hybrid monoliths (i.e., CLIP-ZHMs and ERY-ZHMs, respectively) via a single-step in-situ sol-gel approach in our previous works. Their superiority over chiral organiczirconia/silica monoliths, prepared by post-modification approach, in terms of better enantioresolution and enhanced stability inspired us to prepare ZHM5 based on an another antibiotic, azithromycin (i.e., AZI-ZHMs). Monolithic columns were employed for capillary electrochromatographic enantioseparation of acidic chiral drugs in mobile phases consisting of acetonitrile (ACN) and methanol (MeOH) as organic modifiers, and acetic acid (AcOH) and triethylamine (TEA) as electrolytes. The effects of composition of mobile phase and applied voltage on chiral separation were investigated by using ketoprofen as a representative analyte. Baseline resolutions were obtained for six acidic drugs in mobile phase consisting of 80/20 (v/v) ACN/MeOH with 300 mM AcOH and 10 mM TEA at a 10 kV applied voltage and 25 degrees C capillary temperature. The relative standard deviations for resolution values regarding column to column and batch to batch repeatability were less than 2.5% (for n = 3) under optimized conditions, indicating satisfactory stability of the columns and reproducibility of the column preparation process. Solvent Free N-Heterocyclization of Primary Amines to N-Substituted Azacyclopentanes Using Hydrotalcite as Solid Base Catalyst

        Dixit, Manish,Mishra, Manish,Joshi, P.A.,Shah, D.O. Korean Chemical Society 2012 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.33 No.5

An ecofriendly catalytic route for selective synthesis of $N$-substituted azacyclopentanes, nitrogen-containing heterocyclic intermediates for many bioactive compounds, was established by carrying out $N$-heterocyclization (di $N$-alkylation) of primary amines with 1,4-dichloro butane (as dialkylating agent) using catalytic amount of hydrotalcite as solid base catalyst. The hydrotalcite was found to be efficient solid base catalyst for di $N$-alkylation of different primary amines (aniline, benzyl amine, cyclohexyl amine and n-butyl amine) giving 82 to 96% conversion (at optimized reaction condition) of 1,4-dichloro butane and > 99% selectivity of respective $N$-substituted azacyclopentanes within 30 min. under solvent free condition. The reaction parameters significantly influence the conversion of 1,4-dichloro butane to $N$-substituted azacyclopentanes. The nature of substituent present on amino group affects the reactivity of amine substrates for di $N$-alkylation reaction with 1,4-dichloro butane. The 1,4-dichloro butane was found to be highly reactive alkylating agent for di $N$-alkylation of amines as compared to 1,4-dihydroxy butane. The reusability of the catalyst and its chemical stability in the reaction was demonstrated.

      • Penicillin G as a novel chiral selector in capillary electrophoresis

        Dixit, S.,Park, J.H. Elsevier 2014 Journal of chromatography A Vol.1326 No.-

The penicillin sub-class of β-lactam antibiotics has not been examined for its enantiodiscriminating abilities in capillary electrophoresis (CE) until date. The present work was therefore designed to evaluate penicillin G potassium salt (PenG) as an ion-pair chiral selector (CS) using CE for its several attributes, namely, high solubility in water and lower alcohols, structure allowing multiple interactions with analytes and cost-effectiveness. Systematic experiments were performed to investigate the effect of composition of background electrolyte, applied voltage and capillary temperature on chiral separation. Baseline resolutions of enantiomers of five basic chiral drugs (namely, darifenacin, citalopram, sertraline, propranolol and metoprolol) were attained using a background electrolyte composed of water:methanol (90:10, v/v) and consisting of 10.7 or 16.1mM CS at 20oC using an applied voltage of 5kV.

Experimental estimate of Nγ values and corresponding settlements for square footings on finite layer of sand

        Dixit, Manish S.,Patil, Kailas A. Techno-Press 2013 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.5 No.4

Any structure constructed on the earth is supported by the underlying soil. Foundation is an interfacing element between superstructure and the underlying soil that transmits the loads supported by the foundation including its self weight. Foundation design requires evaluation of safe bearing capacity along with both immediate and long term settlements. Weak and compressible soils are subjected to problems related to bearing capacity and settlement. The conventional method of design of footing requires sufficient safety against failure and the settlement must be kept within the allowable limit. These requirements are dependent on the bearing capacity of soil. Thus, the estimation of load carrying capacity of footing is the most important step in the design of foundation. A number of theoretical approaches, in-situ tests and laboratory model tests are available to find out the bearing capacity of footings. The reliability of any theory can be demonstrated by comparing it with the experimental results. Results from laboratory model tests on square footings resting on sand are presented in this paper. The variation of bearing capacity of sand below a model plate footing of square shape with variation in size, depth and the effect of permissible settlement are evaluated. A steel tank of size $900mm{\times}1200mm{\times}1000mm$ is used for conducting model tests. Bearing capacity factor $N_{\gamma}$ is evaluated and is compared with Terzaghi, Meyerhof, Hansen and Vesic's $N_{\gamma}$ values. From the experimental investigations it is found that, as the depth of sand cushion below the footing ($D_{sc}$) increases, ultimate bearing capacity and settlement values show an increasing trend up to a certain depth of sand cushion.

Fast Disintegrating Films Containing Anastrozole as a Dosage Form for Dysphagia Patients

Dixit Anil Satyanarayana,Kulkarni Parthasarathi Keshavarao 대한약학회 2012 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.35 No.12

The objective of the present research was to ensure safety during oral administration of medications to dysphagia patients, by preparing fast disintegrating films (FDF) containing anastrozole (ANS) which disintegrate rapidly when placed on the tongue. Films were prepared by solvent-casting method using various polymers such as hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC E5 LV), hydroxy propyl cellulose (HPC), poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) and sodium alginate (Na Alginate). Among the formulations examined, film prepared using HPMC E5 LV (F1) exhibited shorter disintegration time (15 sec) with satisfactory mechanical properties. Fourier transformer infrared (FTIR) & differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis revealed no chemical incompatibility between drug and excipients used in the formulation. Surface morphology revealed even distribution of ANS in the film. Dissolution of drug from F1 formulation was rapid with more than 90% drug release in 240 sec. Pharmacokinetic parameters showed no statistical difference between F1 (test) and drug solution (control) indicating comparable plasma level-time profiles. The film showed an excellent stability for 24 weeks when stored at refrigerated temperature (2-8oC). These findings suggest that the fast disintegrating film as a promising candidate for delivery of ANS in dysphagic patients.

Application of rifampicin as a chiral selector for enantioresolution of basic drugs using capillary electrophoresis

Dixit, S.,Park, J.H. Elsevier 2016 Journal of chromatography Vol.1453 No.-

<P>Rifampicin, a member of rifamycin sub-class of antibiotics which belongs to the naphthalenic ansamycin class of antibiotics, has a characteristic ansa structure, i.e., a ring structure or chromophore spanned by an aliphatic chain. The present work was designed to evaluate its potential as a chiral selector (CS) as its structure consisting of nine stereogenic centers, an aromatic moiety and several functional groups (i.e., one imine, one amide, one acetoxy residue, two aliphatic hydroxyl and three phenolic hydroxyl groups) was expected to instigate multiple enantioselective interactions, namely, hydrogen bonding and inclusion complexation with chiral analytes, and therefore resulting in efficient enantioseparations. Systematic experiments were performed to investigate the effects of concentration of CS, composition of background electrolyte (BGE) and applied voltage on chiral separation. Enantiomers of propranolol and metoprolol were baseline resolved using a BGE consisting of 20 mM CS and 50/50 (v/v) iso-propanol/phosphate buffer (100 mM, pH TO) whereas for enantiomers of sertraline, a BGE consisting of 23 mM CS and 40/60 (v/v) iso-propanol/phosphate buffer (100 mM, pH 7.0) resulted in baseline resolutions. Efficient Estimation of the Parameters of the Pareto Distribution in the Presence of Outliers

Dixit, U.J.,Jabbari Nooghabi, M. The Korean Statistical Society 2011 Communications for statistical applications and me Vol.18 No.6

The moment(MM) and least squares(LS) estimations of the parameters are derived for the Pareto distribution in the presence of outliers. Further, we have derived a mixture method(MIX) of estimations with MM and LS that shows that the MIX is more efficient. In the final section we have given an example of actual data from a medical insurance company.
