Using a one factor model, this paperwork estimates the impacts of the size of firms’ competitors in the hardware industry on the market risk level, measured by equity and asset beta, of 22 listed companies in this category. This study identified that the risk dispersion level in this sample study could be minimized in case the competitor size doubles (measured by equity beta var of 0,678). Beside, the empirical research findings show us that asset beta min value decreases from 0,054 to 0,030 when the size of competitor doubles. Last but not least, most of beta values are acceptable. Ultimately, this paper illustrates calculated results that might give proper recommendations to relevant governments and institutions in re-evaluating their policies during and after the financial crisis 2007-2011.

This paper evaluates the impacts of external financing on market risk for the listed firms in the Viet nam tourism industry, esp. during and after the financial crisis 2007-2009. First of all, by using quantitative and analytical methods to estimate asset and equity beta of total 10 listed companies in Viet Nam tourism industry with a proper traditional model, we found out that the beta values, in general, for many institutions are acceptable. Second, under 3 different scenarios of changing leverage (in 2011 financial reports, 30% up and 20% down), we recognized that the risk level, measured by equity and asset beta mean, decreases when leverage increases to 30% and decreases much more if leverage decreases down to 20%. Third, by changing leverage in 3 scenarios, we recognized the dispersion of risk level, measured by equity beta var of 0,767, increases if the leverage increases to 30% whereas decreases to 0,038 if leverage decreases to 20%. But the dispersion measured by asste beta var decreases to 0,473 (leverage up 30%), showing leverage efficiency. Finally, this paper provides some outcomes that could provide companies and government more evidence in establishing their policies in governance.

Functionalized metal–organic frameworks have recently received significant attention in heterogeneouscatalysis applications due to their high catalytic activity. In this work, a sulfate-functionalized Hf-clusterbasedmetal–organic framework was prepared via sulfation of a Hf-MOF, named Hf-BTC, constructed byHf6 clusters and 1,3,5-tricarboxylate linkers. The Hf-BTC-SO4 material was consequently demonstrated tobe an efficiently reusable superacid catalyst for a one-pot three-component reaction of pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles synthesis. The reaction catalyzed by the sulfated Hf-BTC could be carried out under mildand solvent-free conditions and give superior performance in a wide range of substrates. According todetailed investigation, the good catalytic performance of the sulfated-functionalized MOF likely originatesfrom the high-porosity framework and the high active sites of the functionalized clusters. Importantly, the catalyst could be easy to recover and reuse the functionalized framework several timeswith minor changes in catalytic efficiency.

A novel type of steel fiber with a rounded-end shape is presented to improve the bonding behavior of fibers with Carbon Nanotubes (CNT)-reinforced Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) matrix. For this purpose, by performing a parametric study and using the nonlinear finite element method, the impact of geometric characteristics of the fiber end on its bonding behavior with UHPC has been studied. The cohesive zone model investigates the interface between the fibers and the cement matrix. The mechanical properties of the cohesive zone model are determined by calibrating the finite element results and the experimental fiber pull-out test. Also, the results are evaluated with the straight steel fibers outcomes. Using the novel presented fibers, the bond strength has significantly improved compared to the straight steel fibers. The new proposed fibers increase bond strength by 1.1 times for the same diameter of fibers. By creating fillet at the contact area between the rounded end and the fiber, bond strength is significantly improved, the maximum fiber capacity is reachable, and the pull-out occurs in the form of fracture and tearing of the fibers, which is the most desirable bonding mode for fibers. This also improves the energy absorbed by the fibers and is 4.4 times more than the corresponding straight fibers.

Pd-incorporated Zr-based metal–organic framework containing sulfone groups, named Pd(II)BUT-11, wassuccessfully prepared by dispersing the sulfone-functionalized MOF in Pd(OAc)2 solution. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, N2 isotherm sorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and thermogravimetricanalysis were applied to determine the features of the Pd-incorporated MOF. In the catalyticstudies, Pd(II)@BUT-11 was shown to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for synthesizing various stilbenederivatives via the cross-coupling Heck reaction with DABCO-derived deep eutectic solvent (DES) asa green solvent. Notably, the catalyst and the solvent could be recovered and reused, with their activityand structure remaining stable throughout several trials. The method provides an alternative solution tothe conventional catalysts and solvents, resulting in a green and efficient stilbene synthesis process. Furthermore, the stilbenes were separated by extraction with ethyl acetate due to the low solubility ofDES with this solvent.

There are four general ways to improve reliability. One of the most popular of these solutions is to add surplus com-ponents to the subsystems of a system (known as RRAP) and the reliability-redundancy allocation problem. In a sub-system, how these surplus components are used is of particular importance. How to use surplus components in the subsystem is known as. There are three general strategies for reliability issues known as active, stored, and mixed strategy. The main aim of the study is to create a new formula on the basis of the subsystems that use these two strategies. Model 4 provides a continuous limit of the Markov chain with continuous time. This new formula enables us to perform complex strategy calculations in a very short time and accurately. Finally the exact function obtained for mixed strategy Protective system ultra-fast gas turbine has been tested. Given the results, the new equation decreased the solution time besides the accurate estimation of the system’s reliability.

Background: In order to provide essential scientific evidence on the population's health status and social health determinants as well as the current capacity of the health care system in Vietnam to health policy makers and managers, Vietnam Ministry of Health, Hanoi University of Public Health, Hanoi Medical University, and Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy collaborated with Seoul National University (Korea) and conducted a health system survey in the Quoc Oai district (of Hanoi capital) that represented northern rural Vietnam. Methods: The study design was a cross-sectional study. The survey covered different topics (more than 200 questions) and was administered in three separate questionnaires: 1) Basic information of all household members; 2) Household characteristics; and 3) Individual characteristics. Socio-demographic characteristics among the households and individuals were collected from 2,400 households sampled by multi-stage cluster sampling method: more than 200 questions. Results: The household size of Quoc Oai was larger than the national average and there was no significant difference in gender composition. In addition, the proportions of pre-elderly, age 55–64, and elderly group (65 years old and over) were higher than the national population statistics. In this context, demographic transition has begun in Quoc Oai. Conclusion: This study design description provides the basic information about a baseline survey of a future prospective cohort (as a part of a collaborative project on strengthening the health system in Vietnam) to the prospective data user of this survey.
