It is prerequisite of orthodontists to diagnose malocclusion correctly and make treatment plans accurately for treating maloccluded patients efficiently and earning more stable and better results. Recently computers were introduced in orthodontic diagnosis steps, which enabled orthodontists to get more precise diagnosis, to make more accurate treatment planning and to provide better orthodontic cares for more patients. The authors studied on the diagnostic analysis methods which have been used frequently in Korea and made a diagnostic computer program including the horizontal and/or vertical measurement of length, degrees and proportions in lateral cephalometric radiographs, the analysis of the skeletal and soft-tissue features and the evaluation of the treatment results. We also made a scheduling program for arrangement and management of patients. 40 skeletal and 24 soft-tissue landmarks were selected in a lateral cephalometric radiographs. The available analysis methods in this program are Angular analysis, Linear analysis, Ricketts analysis, Profilogram, Steiner analysis, Tweed analysis, MacNamara analysis, Open bite analysis, Kim's diagnosis, Skeleto-dental cephalometric analysis and Height& weight analysis. We suggested that this diagnostic computer program make it possible for orthodontists to get more rapid and accurate diagnostic analysis and treatment planning and for patient to earn better and more efficient orthodontic service.
Styrene과 2-Hydroxypropylacrylate(2-HPA) 공중합 특성

Solution copolymerization of Styrene(St.) with 2-Hydroxypropylacrylate(2-HPA) was carried out with Benzoylperoxide(BPO) as an initiator in toluene at 80℃ in a batch reactor. Reaction volume and reaction time were 0.3 liters, 7hours respectively. The time to reach steady state was about the six time. The monomer reactivity ratios, r1(St.) and r2(2HPS) were determined by both the Kelen-Tudos method and the Fineman-Ross method : r1(St.)=0.376(0.330), r2(2-HPA)=0.408(0.778). The activation energy of thermal decomposition was in range of 33∼55 kcal/mol.

Recent experimental studies and clinical cases have suggested that grafting tissue from the adrenal medulla into the brain may alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Autologous adrenal medullary grafts into the striatum was performed stereotactically in two patients with Parkinson's disease. Both patients were bedridden preoperatively, but 4 months after the surgery both became ambulatory and one was even capable of returning to his job. Even though the number of cases was small⑵ and the follow-up period was short, this study shows that adrenal medullary transplantation into the striatum may have some beneficial effects in patient with Parkinson's disease. Further experimental and clinical trials are necessary to see whether this procedure will be a recommendable surgical treatment for patients suffering from Parkinson's disease.

“Joongmo2004”, a winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar was developed by the National Institute of Crop Science, RDA. It was derived from the cross “Bacanora88/Keumkang//Keumkang” during 1996. “Joongmo2004” was evaluated as “Iksan320” in advance yield trial test in 2006. It was tested in the regional yield trial test between 2007 and 2009. Its heading date was April 26 in upland and April 23 in paddy filed conditions, and Maturing date was June 5 in upland and June 4 in paddy field, which were similar to Keumkang, respectively. It showed 830 in number of spikes per m2, 35 of grain number per spike, 44.9g of 1,000 grain weight, and 806g of test weight. “Joongmo2004” showed moderate to Fusarium head blight (Scab) in test of specific character although “Keumkang” is susceptible to scab. “Joongmo2004” had higher flour yield (75.5%) than “Keumkang” (72.5% and 0.42%, respectively). “Joongmo2004” showed similar ash (0.42%), lower protein content (12.3%), SDS-sedimentation volume (43.0ml) and gluten content (10.3%) than “Keumkang” (0.42%, 13.1%, 57.8ml and 10.8%, respectively). It showed higher lightness (89.97), redness (-1.38) and yellowness (10.76) in flour color than “Keumkang” (89.61, -1.15 and 9.46, respectively). “Joongmo2004” exhibited lower hardness (3.50N), similar springiness and higher cohesiveness of cooked noodles (0.92 and 0.65) compared to “Keumkang” (4.54N, 0.93, and 0.63, respectively). The average grain yield in the regional yield trial was 5.17MT/ha in upland and 5.34 MT/ha in paddy field, which were lower 11% and higher 3% than those of the check cultivar, Keumkang, respectively.

In order to obtain the basic information on the mutation breeding in peanut and to find out the efficient methods for the induction of mutation and selection criteria, the seeds of peanuts were subjected to mutagen treatment with the various levels of the γ-ray dosages (10, 20, 30 and 40kR) in the seeds contained different moisture. Emergence and survival rate of M₁ plants were decreased by the increase of dosage of gamma rays and the lethal dose (LD₅₀) was 30-40kR in the dried peanut seeds. The higher radiation dose level and moisture content in seeds lead to the more radiosensitivity in M₁ generation. The lethal dose (LD₅₀) of peanut seed with 10-25% moisture content was around 20kR. The order and spectra of chlorophyll deficient mutations were maculata, chlorotica, chlorina, albina and the total chlorophyll-deficiency rate was 14.8% at 30kR dose in the cotyledonary branch. The chlorophyll deficieny rate was negatively correlated with the main stem length and number of pods per plant in M₁ generation. The highly positive correlation coefficients between chlorophyll deficieny rate and morphological variant rate was observed in M₂ population
