      • 맞춤형 건강기능식품 활성화를 위한 규제 검토 및 개선방안 제언

        “맞춤형 건강기능식품”이란 개인별 식습관, 생활습관, 건강검진, 유전자 검사 결과 등을 분석하여 개인에게 필요한 건강기능식품을 소분하거나 조합한 제품을 의미한다. 현행법상 건강기능식품의 소분 행위는 금지되나, ‘개인 맞춤형 건강기능식품’ 시범사업이 규제샌드박스 실증특례 대상으로 선정됨에 따라, 건강기능식품 소분과 맞춤형 건강관리 서비스 제공이 가능해진 것이다. 고령화 등의 사회적 현상과 예방 중심의 건강관리 트렌드에 따라 맞춤형 건강기능식품 판매에 대한 관심과 수요가 점차 증가하고 있으나, 과거에는 불가능했던 “개인 맞춤형” 형태의 영업으로 인해 정부와 업계, 소비자 모두 혼란을 겪고 있는 상황이며, 이러한 형태의 영업을 합법적·지속적으로 수행할 제도적인 기반 역시도 부재한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 맞춤형 건강기능식품을 추천·상담하고 소분·판매하는 과정에서 적용되는 법률과 규제에 대한 검토를 수행하고, 사업의 지속적 운영을 위해 필요한 법·제도적인 개선방안을 제언함으로써, 맞춤형 건강기능식품 시장의 활성화 및 소비자 안전과 신뢰 확보를 위한 정책 개발에 기여하고자 한다. Personalized dietary supplements encompass products tailored by analyzing an individuals dietary habits, lifestyle, medical examination results, and genetic test data to customize the combination of required dietary supplements. While prevailing regulations currently prohibit the portioning of dietary supplements, the establishment of the Personalized Dietary Supplement Product Pilot Project as a special case within the regulatory sandbox demonstration has enabled the portioning and distribution of personalized health care services. The burgeoning social phenomena of an aging society and a shift toward prevention-oriented healthcare have amplified interest and demand for personalized healthcare products. However, the introduction of the “personalized” sales model, previously unattainable, has led to a state of confusion among government, industry, and consumers. Presently, there exists no institutional framework to support the legal and sustainable conduct of such sales. This study aims to comprehensively review applicable laws and regulations governing the processes of recommending, counseling, portioning, and distributing personalized dietary supplements. By identifying legal and institutional enhancements necessary for ongoing business operations, the study aspires to contribute to the formulation of policies that will stimulate the personalized dietary supplement market. Furthermore, through a thorough examination of laws and regulations governing the recommendation process, the study seeks to ensure consumer safety and trust, ultimately fostering the development of policies to invigorate and sustain the personalized dietary supplement market.

      • 모터제어 교육을 위한 스텝모터 특성분석 실험법

        현대 산업 사회의 다양한 분야에서 폭넓게 사용되고 있는 모터들 가운데 저비용으로 높은 정밀도의 위치 제어가 가능한 스텝모터는 학부 모터제어 교육과정의 필수요소로 자리매김하였다. 효과적인 제어를 위해서는 모터 특성에 대한 이해가 전제되어야 함에도 학부 수준에서의 제한적인 환경에서는 스텝모터의 실제적인 특성 파악을 위한 실험적 분석이 어려운 실정이다. 이에 본 는문에서는 학부 교육과정 내에서 구현 가능한 간단한 실험적 접근을 통해 스텝모터의 실제적 특성을 이해할 수 있도록 특성분석 실험을 3가지 과정으로 구성하였다. 제안된 특성분석 실험과 정은 스텝모터와 마이크로프로세서를 사용하여 1) 여자방법에 따른 회전속도 차이, 2) 회전속도에 따른 토크 변화, 그리고 3) 과도응답 특성분석으로 구성되었으며, 학부 3~4학년 수준에서 구현 가능하도록 간단한 기자재와 부품 들, 그리고 프로그래밍만으로 진행될 수 있도록 하였다. 제안된 실험법은 학부생들이 스텝모터의 실제 특성을 이해 하는데 활용됨으로써 산업현장에서 필요로 하는 스텝모터 활용의 실무역량 강화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

        Statistical analysis of S-N type environmental fatigue data of Ni-base alloy welds using weibull distribution

        In this study, the probabilistic fatigue life model for Ni-base alloys was developed based on the Weibull distribution using statistical analysis of fatigue data reported in NUREG/CR-6909 and the new fatigue data of Alloy 52M/152 and 82/182. The developed Weibull model can consider right-censored data (i.e., non-failed data) and quantify the improved safety (or reliability) based on the level of failure probability. The overall margin in the current fatigue design limit model (ASME design curve þ NUREG/CR-6909 Fen model) is similar to that of the Weibull model with a cumulative failure probability of approximately 2.5%. The margin in the current fatigue design limit model demonstrated inconsistencies for the Ni-base alloy weld data, whereas the Weibull model showed a consistent margin. Therefore, the Weibull model can systematically mitigate the excessive safety margin.

        Fatigue residual useful life estimation of Ni-base alloy weld with time-series data

        We developed a fatigue residual useful life (RUL) prediction model using the available time-series fatigue data of Ni-base alloy welds via a long short-term memory (LSTM) network. The effects of some LSTM network hyperparameters on model performance were investigated through sensitivity studies. The LSTM network model outperformed multiple regression models when the LSTM model hyperparameters were appropriately tuned. However, the additional gain was insignificant, considering that the LSTM network was much more complex than multiple regression models. The best performance of the LSTM network model was achieved when the number of hidden units, input window size, and batch size were small and the number of LSTM layers was large.

        Antimicrobials in human medicine are classified by The World Health Organization (WHO) into three groups: critically important antimicrobials (CIA), highly important antimicrobials (HIA), and important antimicrobials (IA). CIA are antibiotic classes that satisfy two main criteria: that they are the sole or the only available limited therapeutic option to effectively treat severe bacterial infections in humans (Criterion 1), and infections where bacteria are transmitted to humans from non-human sources or have the potential to acquire resistance genes from non-human sources (Criterion 2). WHO emphasizes the need for cautious and responsible use of the CIA to mitigate risk and safeguard human health. Specific antimicrobials within the CIA with a high priority for management are reclassified as "highest priority critically important antimicrobials (HP-CIA)" and include the 3<sup>rd</sup> generation of cephalosporins and the next generation of macrolides, quinolones, glycopeptides, and polymyxins. The CIA list is the scientific basis for risk assessment and risk management policies that warrant using antimicrobials to reduce antimicrobial resistance in several countries. In addition, the CIA list ensures food safety in the food industry, including for the popular food chain companies McDonald's and KFC. The continuous update of the CIA list reflects the advancement in research and emerging future challenges. Thus, active and deliberate evaluation of antimicrobial resistance and the construction of a list that reflects the specific circumstances of a country are essential to safeguarding food security.

        To investigate the effect of long-term thermal aging on the microstructural and mechanical characteristics of weldment made of nickel base alloy and its weld metal, an accelerated heat treatment was applied to simulate the process of long-term thermal aging in the operating condition of nuclear power plant. A representative nickel-based weldment with Alloy 600 and Alloy 182 was fabricated and heat-treated at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1,713 h and 3,427 h to simulate the thermal aging for the period equivalent to 15 and 30 years in operating pressurized water reactors, respectively. The microstructural and mechanical characteristics were analyzed by using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Vickers microhardness measurement. Changes were observed in precipitation behavior and microhardness of each specimen, and these changes were mainly attributed to the change in precipitated morphology and residual stress across the weld during the thermal aging process.

        파울링된 피복관 표면의 가압 경수로 운전환경에서의 미포화 비등 열전달 성능평가를 위한 실험장치 구축 연구

        The CRUD (Chalk River Unidentified Deposit or Corrosion Related Unidentified Deposit) is a fouling deposit of metal or metal oxide on the nuclear fuel cladding under PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) operating conditions and causing the several operational and safety-related problems. The major concerns related to the CRUD are AOA (Axial Offset Anomaly) caused by the accumulation of the boron species inside the porous CRUD from the primary reactor coolant and CILC (CRUD Induced Localized Corrosion) caused by locally increased cladding surface temperature due to the additional thermal resistance of the CRUD layer. The growth of CRUD and the CRUD-related problems are known to be governed by the sub-cooled nucleate boiling phenomena inside the upper part of the reactor core, especially on the hot fuel assembly and hot fuel pin. In the current study, the experimental facility called DISNY (crud DeposItion Simulator for Nuclear energY) was proposed as a testbed to simulate the CRUD growth and to investigate the sub-cooled nucleate boiling heat transfer performance of the CRUD deposited cladding surface under prototypical PWR operating conditions.
