Objectives : The object of this study is to report a clinical effect of oriental medical treatments lot chronic muscle weakness caused by herniated intervertbral lumbar disc. Methods : The patient was diagnosed as lumbar disc herniation, and was treated by conservative treatments including acupunture, herbal mixture, pharmacopuncture. And we measured Visual Analog Score(VAS), Walking time and Manual Muscle testing(MMT). Results : After treatments, Visual Analog Score, Walking time and Manual Muscle testing(MMT) were improved in case. Conclusions : Chronic Muscle weakness caused by lumbar disc herniation can be improved by conservative maneuver as to oriental medical method.

A system dynamics model is developed in order to evaluate the contribution level of the activities regarding HANARO, which is the research reactor in Korea. The system dynamics model has room to be improved, but it is logically sound enough to evaluate the general level of contributions and to develop strategies for the HANARO to be more contributable. Considering the uncertainty involved with the input variables, the contribution level is ranged from 3 times to about 30 times of the investment made on it. The evaluation results can be summarized as follows.
A Case of Enterolithiasis in a Grant’s Zebra (Equus burchelli boehmi) and Analysis of the Enterolith

We describe a case of enterolithiasis in an eight-year-old male Grant’s zebra (Equus burchelli boehmi) that died after a 10-day history of depression, anorexia, dehydration and colic. On necropsy, an enterolith was discovered at the conjunction of the descending colon and the rectum. The spherical enterolith weighed 1,660 g and was 13.5 cm ×8 cm in size. According to scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS),the nidus consisted primarily of SiO2 with outer layers of magnesium and phosphate. The formation of enteroliths is closely related to diet. We suggest that this captive zebra’s diet, which consisted primarily of alfalfa hay with mineral supplements, was the cause of enterolithiasis in this case. This is the first report of enterolithiasis in a captive equid in Korea. Our findings provide information valuable for the development of dietary guidelines to prevent enterolithiasis in captive wild equids.

This paper presents localization performance enhancement for mobile robot on GPS interfering spot. Localization system applied Extended Kalman filter algorithm that utilized Diffrential GPS and odometry, inertial sensors. In this paper, different noise covariance is applied to Extended Kalman Filter according to the GPS quality. Experiment results show that proposed localization system improve considerably localization performance of mobile robots.
Capture Myopathy in a Red-necked Wallaby (Macropus rufogriseus)

This case report describes capture myopathy in an 8-month-old female red-necked wallaby (Macropus rufogriseus) that died after a 14-day history of depression, lameness and astasia following a bathing protocol for dermatitis. In a blood test performed the day after the wallaby fell down, serum chemistry showed a normal range of LDH but elevated CK, ALT and AST. Upon histopathologic examination after the animal’s death, we found degeneration and necrosis of myofibers in skeletal muscle and myocardium. According to history that the wallaby was pressed by other individuals, suspected vitamin E insufficiency in the diet, physical stress during bathing as well as results of a blood test and microscopic examination, we diagnosed this case as capture myopathy. Although capture myopathy is a common problem in marsupials, this is the first reported case in Korea and understanding this case will help to manage future cases of capture myopathy in captive settings in Korea.
