        The world is changing, Korea is in the middle of the road which is up to the development of culture industry, high profittable industry. The key words of culture industry are the movie ``Avatar`` and I-phone. ``Avatr`` is not simply the conventionally technical film, rather is a phenomenon for hybrid with cutural and technomogical values which is from technologies such as 3D, computer graphics, compositing, and virtual realities. Also, I-phone is not just a receiver, but a surprise as a portal for any contents within small pc, lap top, and game station. The creation of ``Avatar`` and I-phone has the fuction for developing the related culture industries. Their profitabilities are enormous. It has been a long time that The Korea has plunged into the competative market vying for forerunner in the line of digital industry or culture industry. But the question of this paper is whether the proper education is put on this area or not and then the purpose of this essay to pinpoint the blind spot, to anlalyse the cause, and to present the alternative to reality. The author doesn`t have any intentions to harm technological development. The development of technology is unstoppable because it`s a direction to contemporary civilization and profitable pursuit for industry. Even it does not only mean to interrupt the technological development but also to have the conviction that the raising a queston is necessary and positive for how it is proper way to culture creation.

      • JPEG2000을 위한 스칼라양자화 및 컨텍스트 추출부 IP 설계 및 구현

        With the increasing use of multimedia technologies, image compression requires higher performances as well as new feature. To address this need in the specific area of still image encoding, a new standard is currently being developed, the JPEG2000. In this paper^(2), we propose scalar quantization and context extractior IP's architecture for JPEG2000 design as well as design and verify the IP's of its functional blocks. IP of each block is performed the software simulation to verity the validity of implemental structure, and then designed a HDL code according to 'RTL Coding Guideline' presented by SIPAC(System Integration & Intellectual Property Authoring Center). The designed IP's are implemented and verified on the Xillinx million gate FPGA test board and are fabricated to IDEC MPW chip by using Hynix 0.35㎛ library.

        3D 영화의 발전가능성에 관한 연구

        Stereoscopic Film is popular with Avatar all over the world. However, Avatar is a film which has an effect of 3D with 2D rather than a typical stereoscopic film. There were big booms in stereoscopic film production but none of films were successful. The reason is that US commands a stereoscopic strategy for overcoming economic slump and it influences Korean government through the press. It is analysed that why America offered technically- unstabilized stereoscopic film to the film markets. It was mirrroed in the history of Hollywood films. American film artists got the obstacles away when they were in hard times in Hollywood. 3D had been appeared as a pathfinder in the era of Depression. There are 3D problems in everywhere. However, Korean government has a role in popularity here. The policy follows Hollywood, and it doesn’t give any supports to independent development of technology and basic filmmaking. In the conclusion, stereoscopic picture doesn’t neglect the 2D based- filmmaking notwithstanding.

        대학 내 에너지 소비에 따른 온실가스-대기오염 통합 인벤토리 및 대체 에너지 사용 시나리오 분석

        The university is one of the main energy consumption facilities and thereby releases a large amount of greenhouse gas (GHG). Accordingly, efforts for reducing energy consumption and GHG have been established in many local as well as international universities. However, it has been limited to energy consumption and GHG, and has not included air pollution (AP). Therefore, we estimated GHG and AP integrated emissions from the energy consumed by Seoul National University of Science and Technology during the years between 2010 and 2012. In addition, the effect of alternative energy use scenario was analysed. We estimated GHG using IPCC guideline and Guidelines for Local Government Greenhouse Inventories, and AP using APEMEP/EEA Emission Inventory Guidebook 2013 and Air Pollutants Calculation Manual. The estimated annual average GHG emission was 11,420 tonCO2eq, of which 27% was direct emissions from fuel combustion sectors, including stationary and mobile source, and the remaining 73% was indirect emissions from purchased electricity and purchased water supply. The estimated annual average AP emission was 7,757 kgAP, of which the total amount was from direct emissions only. The annual GHG emissions from city gas and purchased electricity usage per unit area (m2) of the university buildings were estimated as 15.4 kgCO2eq/m2 and 42.4 tonCO2eq/m2 and those per person enrolled in the university were 210 kgCO2eq/capita and 577 kgCO2eq/capita. Alternative energy use scenarios revealed that the use of all alternative energy sources including solar energy, electric car and rain water reuse applicable to the university could reduce as much as 9.4% of the annual GHG and 34% of AP integrated emissions, saving approximately 400 million won per year, corresponding to 14% of the university energy budget.

        영화의 새로운 관람 및 영사방식

        Gallery film is not just the film shown in the gallery itself. It is sure that gallery film is shown in the gallery and also, especially for its purpose is to get the other ways of screening, seeing, and alternative contents. It"s a whole new different media from traditional film forms. Gallery film is different from the fact that its space meaning is confused and the degree of concentration is different. It is very ambiguous whether the naming of cinema is nowadays correct or not. Today the term "gallery film" conceived in European sphere is dated from 1999, Cinema d"Exposition by Jean-Christophe Royoux at first, Raymond Bellour puts it "the Other Cinema". Gallery film is widespread through many expositions like Venice Bienalle. The chronological famous events are: Hall of Mirrors: Art and Film Since 1945 (Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, 1996), Spellbound (Hayward Gallery, London, 1996), Le Mouvement des images (Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, 2006), Cinema Effect: Illusion, Reality and the Moving Image (Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC, 2008). The contemporary is the age of combustion and it"s sure that the two medias are put together. By way of screening a film in the gallery, the media is not a film any more, also not an art, and the new exquisite art works is created. We can understand that gallery film is defined as a remediation in the process of unification that one media is become the other media. That is come from film or art space and is remediated.

        가족의 해체와 재구성

        The concept of traditional family is revised in the feld of Korean film in 2006. The phenomenon had begun several years ago and now it appeared prominently. 〈Too Much for 5〉(2005, Director Ahn, Seul Ki) in the last year is a controvercial film which deals with finding the theme of alternative household structure. When the 〈Family Ties〉 is issued out this year, it is recognized as the answer for that. However, unexpectedly the discourse of family reconstruction had not been yet wide spread before this year. Rather, the discourse of nation and people in connection with the theme of family is being well received in Korean society. 〈Hanbando〉 and 〈The Host〉 are the best example for that. Wide range of focus is rendered in the discourse of family revision because the concept of family links with the problem of personal life, tradition, and political factor in the governing the people. We find many good films issued in 2006, considering the remedy and reflection for social bias and malady. New faces such as Hwan Kyung Lee, Sang Hoon Ahn, Young Nam Kim, Hyung lin Kwon, Chang Ho Jo, Yin Kwang Yeo, Man Dae Bong, Jong Tae Choi, Cheol Hee Park and the backbone directors such as Byung Kee Ahn, Joon Ho Bong, Ha Yu, Ho Choi, Tae Yong Kim and senior directors beyond them such as Gyun Dong Yeo, U Seok Kang are worked brilliantly. In their works it is shown the debate about the idea of family, nation, and people. The thinking about family reconstruction is under new round in between the crisis of nuclear family and the phenomenon of decrease in population. Dehumanization by breakup of family is the foremost one of classical film themes. Due to the human fatigue with desperate life led by modem industrialization, dehumanization is appeared. The human doesn't much care about the other's agonies in behalf of them. The family situation is not exeptional. The maintenance of the family has grown up through the turbulant waves of modem and contemporary history from origin to now. At this time, the newly alternative family types is devised and the film industry represents the trends of that issue very attentively. The difficulties by breakup of family classified as three types. The first one is the women's difficulties by the violence of men. These kinds of film are 〈Lump Sugar〉, 〈Ah Rang〉, and 〈the Apartment〉. The second one is men's difficulties. 〈Don't Look Back〉is the best example. The third one is the next generation's difficulties. Films such as 〈The Peter Pan Fomular〉, 〈Mr. Wacky〉, 〈Cinderella〉, 〈Don't Look Back〉, 〈Ice Bar〉 are examples.
