The purpose of this study is providing fundamental data and information on promotion of Yoga & Pilates teaching and management by studying what relationship among instructor’s image, communication skill and participant satisfaction of Yoga and Pilates. The survey was done through 200 members in Yoga and Pilates center in Seoul & Gyeonggi-do and excluding 23 copies ran an analysis on the remaining 177 (88.5%) copies. After question investigating the data which is collected used IBM SPSS Statistics 21 and IBM AMOS 21 program, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach’s α, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, path analysis through structural equation model (SEM). The result of this study were as follows. First, instructor’s image showed (+) effects on communication skill. Second, instructor’s image showed (+) effects on participant satisfaction. Third, communication skill showed (+) effects on participant satisfaction. Therefore Yoga and Pilates instructors have to take a sense of duty for teaching and raise learning efficiency by proper instructor’s image and communication skill, it will be take positive effect for Yoga & Pilates center management activation and high satisfaction.

Objectives Myopia has a higher prevalence rate in eastern countries, which also have a higher rate of educational fever compared to western countries. Considering this, social costs paid for myopia will increase rapidly in Korea. Although the development of myopia treatment is necessary, there has been a lack of relevant studies. Thus, this study aims to produce data to prevent unnecessary treatments and medical expenses. Methods The objective is to evaluate the effect of periocular acupressure exerted by a medical massager for myopia. This is an open-label, prospective, single-arm, and pre and post superiority study. The subjects are 7~12-year-old myopia patients with under 5 D (diopter) of spherical equivalent. A total of 56 subjects were enrolled. The selected subjects will wear the massager for 15 minutes twice a day for 24 weeks. The primary endpoint is the refraction change. The secondary endpoint is the axial length change. Statistical analysis was performed at a significant level of 0.05, using a two-tailed test. The criterion for significantly improved refraction was $-0.17{\pm}0.50$ D/6 months and that of axial length change was 0.126 mm. Results and Conclusions This study did not include a control group because children represent a vulnerable group. This objective study will bring some impact on Korean medical myopia treatment. A long-term confirmatory clinical study may be necessary in future.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to develop a new nutrition screening tool for quality improvement of the nutritional care process in an acute care hospital with a 2,000-bed capacity. Methods: To evaluate the current nutrition screening tool, we first examined 435 patients (274 men, aged 59.0±12.2 years). In the second step, the nutritional status of 387 patients (215 men, aged 57.5±13.3 years) was assessed by the scored patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA) tool. Variables such as age, body mass index (BMI), plasma albumin concentration, weight change, food intake change, and disease severity were analyzed to select indices for developing a new Severance nutrition screening index (SNSI). Results: The current nutrition screening tool had a poor correlation with the PG-SGA (κ=0.180, P<0.0001). The SNSI was calculated as follows: SNSI = 1.5×albumin+ 1.0×BMI+4.5×intake change+1.5×weight loss (for albumin< 3.0, BMI<20, and decreased intake and weight loss>5% of usual body weight). The SNSI showed a sensitivity of 90.5%, a specificity of 90.7%, and a high correlation (κ=0.628, P<0.0001) with the PG-SGA. Conclusion: The SNSI appears to be a valid and useful nutrition screening tool to determine the nutritional risk of patients in acute care hospitals. (JKSPEN 2013;5(2): 82-88)
Wii Fit을 이용한 시각적 피드백 훈련이 노인의 균형에 미치는 영향

Background and Purpose Although The purpose of this study is to investigate how the visual feedback training using Wii Fit is more effective than other interest-inducing physical therapy on improving balance for the elderly who have experienced falls. Subjects and Methods Twenty one elderly have participated in this study. They were divided into two groups; experimental, and control, and the study was carried out three times a week during four weeks. Both groups attended to this thirty minutes of training repeating a total of three times - training for ten minutes, and resting for another ten minutes. The experimental group was assigned to conduct the visual feedback training using Wii Fit, while the control group the interest-inducing physical therapy. As measurement tools, Frailty and Injuries: Cooperative Studies of Intervention Techniques-4, Timed Up & Go, and Wm Walking Test were used. Results For the result of this balance training, in terms of comparison by the time, Frailty and Injuries: Cooperative Studies of Intervention Techniques-4, Timed Up & Go, and Wm Walking Test showed significant improvements in both groups(p<.05). There also was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups(p<.05). Conclusions This results have verified that the visual feedback training using Wii Fit is more effective than the interest-inducing physical therapy on improving the balance for the elderly. Henceforth, on the basis of this study, it is considered that this visual feedback training using Wii Fit, that is effective on improving balance for the elderly in order to prevent from falls, needs to be provided wider publicity, be supplied as mediation for balance, and develop research for enhancing the programs.

According to an increase in demand for polyurethane soft foam for thermally insulated containers, the purpose of this study is based on redefining existing rigid polyurethane foam insulation KS standard which has been limited to building material-based authentication techniques. Since there are arising concerns of consumer rights and safety due to humidifier fungicides and urethane track incidents, there are elements to be further researched on rigid polyurethane foam insulation for refregerated containers. Thus, we reviewed the prior standards for rigid polyurethane foam insulation and verified the validity of certification testing method for the new standard with self-foamed polyurethane.
신선편의 샐러드와 유기농 채소류의 미생물학적 품질 및 식중독 미생물 오염도

본 연구는 대형 할인매장과 백화점에서 유통되고 있는 신선편의 샐러드류와 유기농 채소의 미생물학적 품질을 평가하고, 식중독 미생물 오염도를 분석하여 위생적인 신선편의 제품의 생산을 유도하고, 신선편의 샐러드류와 유기농 채소류의 미생물학적 위해평가의 기본자료로 활용하고자 수행되었다. 경기도 지역의 대형 할인매장과 백화점에서 유통되고 있는 신선편의 샐러드류와 유기농 채소류를 구입하여 총균수과 대장균군, 장내세균, 대장균을 분석하여 미생물학적 품질을 평가하였으며, S. aureus, Salmonella spp., V. parahaemolyticus, L. monocytogenes, B. cereus 등의 식중독관련 미생물의 오염도를 분석하였다. 신선편의 샐러드 중 미생물학적으로 안전한 제품은 과일샐러드 제품으로 일반세균수, 장내세균수와 대장균군의 오염 수준이 낮았다. 하지만, 새싹채소는 일반세균수, 장내세균, 대장균군 등의 오염수준이 다른 신선편의 제품보다 높았으며, 분석 시료의 37.5%에서 B. cereus 가 3 log CFU/g 이상 오염된 것으로 분석되었다. 모든 신선편의 제품에서 Salmonella spp., V. parahaemolyticus, L. monocytogenes 등의 병원성 미생물은 검출되지 않았으며, S. aureus는 2개의 샐러드 제품에서 검출되었으나, 오염 수준은 기준 이하였다. 유기농 채소류 중에서는 유기농 상추가 일반세균수, 장내세균, 대장균군의 오염도가 유기농 상추와 깻잎에 비하여 높았으며, 대장균과 S. aureus는 상추와 깻잎에서만 검출되었고, 풋고추에서는 검출되지 않았다. B. cereus는 분석된 모든 유기농 채소류에서 검출되었고, 오염도는 1.2-4.0 log CFU/g 수준이었다. 병원성 미생물인 L. monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., V. parahaemolyticus는 모든 시료에서 검출되지 않았다. 유기농 채소류는 구입 후 대부분 가정에서 간단한 세척 후 바로 섭취하는 것으로, 병원성 미생물에 대한 오염도는 낮았으나, 유기농 상추의 일반세균수가 5 log CFU/g 이상으로 충분한 세척으로 균수를 낮추지 않는다면 미생물학적으로 안전한 수준은 아니었다. 따라서 섭취적 충분한 세척으로 초기 오염도를 낮추고, 저온에서 보관하며, 가능한 빠른 섭취가 필요하다고 판단되었다. This study was performed to assess the microbiological quality and potential health risk of fresh-cut produce and organic vegetables sampled from supermarkets and department stores in Korea. A total of 96 samples comprised three types of fresh-cut produce (sprouts, mixed-vegetables, fruit) and three types of organic vegetables (lettuce, perilla leaf, green pepper). The samples were analyzed for total viable cell counts, coliforms, Enterobacteriaceae, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Bacillus cereus, and Staphylococcus aureus. The microbiological counts of fruit were very low. Sprouts were highly contaminated by total viable cell counts (8.3±0.57 log CFU/g), Enterobacteriaceae (7.1±0.76 log CFU/g), and coliforms (4.9±0.40 log MPN/g), and showed a high incidence level of B. cereus (2.9±0.48 log CFU/g). Of the fresh-cut produce analyzed, six (13.6%) mixed-vegetable salads were E. coli positive. S. aureus was detected in only one sprout sample and one mixed-vegetable salad, and its contamination levels were under 2 log CFU/g, which is appropriate for Korean standards (<3 log CFU/g) of fresh-cut produce. Of the organic vegetables, lettuces were highly contaminated by total viable cell counts (6.4±0.74 log CFU/g), Enterobacteriaceae (5.7±0.98 log CFU/g), and coliforms (3.7±1.72 log MPN/g). Two (13.6%) organic lettuce and one (7.1%) perillar leaf sample were E. coli positive, and S. aureus was detected in one lettuce and two perilla leaf samples. Salmonella spp., Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Listeria monocytogenes were not detected in any of the fresh-cut produce or organic vegetables analyzed.
BF-7 강화 우유의 뇌기능보호 효과 및 물리화학적 특성

The impact of storage on the neuroprotective effects against $A\beta$-induced cell death and physicochemical characteristics of milk fortified with BF-7 were investigated. The BF-7 milk exerted protection of neuronal cells SK-N-SH from amyloid beta ($A\beta$)-induced neuronal stress. Our results showed that incubation of the cell with pretreated BF-7 milk, significantly attenuated apoptotic stress by $A\beta$, considered in cell morphology and nucleus shape. The general compositions were maintained consistently in BF-7 fortified milk (BF-7 milk). The BF-7 did not make any disturbance on pH and titratable acidity. The color change was not detected, either. Also, any microorganism had not been detected with more than 7 days storage at $4^{\circ}C$. In sensory evaluation study. the average scores of each sensory attribute were quite similar with plain milk. In conclusion, our results strongly indicate that BF-7 characteristics are quite adequate to be included in milk and BF-7 milk is still working well on neuro-protection, result in enforcing our brain and delaying neurodegeneration.
