Previous studies have been performed for the sero-identification of selected species of Bacteroides by immunofluorescence antibody techniques and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using species-specific rabbit antisera to B. gingivalis, B. intermedius, and B. melaninogenicus. However, these studies have not commented on the serological cross-reactivity between these 3 species of black- pigmented Bacteroides. For the cross-reactivity study, antisera to B. gingivalis ATCC 33277, B. intermedius ATC C25261 and B. asaccharolyticus ATCC 25260 were raised from rabbits. Preliminary study for observing the cross-reactivity between these species was performed by indirect immunoflourescence technique. Immunoabsorption of the antisera was done with bacterial cells from the other species and the species-specificity of the antisera was conformed by the absence of reactivity with bacterial strains from the other species by indirect immunofluorescence technique and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Three representative unabsorbed antisera cross-reacted strongly with cells from the other species. Especially, anti-B. asaccharolyticus ATCC 25260 antiserum showed a strong cross-reactivity with B. gingivalis ATCC33277. After immunoabsorption of 3 representative antisera with the other species, the cross-reactivity was found only between B. gingivalis ATCC 33277 and B. asaccharolyticus ATCC 25260. Further study would be necessary to clarify the cross-reactivity between important oral black-pigmented Bacteroides from subgingival plaque or bacterial colonies for rapid identification.

악취에 대한 민원이 많이 증가함에 따라 양돈장의 악취 발생에 대한 기초자료를 얻고자 2008년 6월에서 11월까지 2개의 양돈장(수원시, 화성시 소재)을 선정하여 임신돈사와 부지경계에서 발생하는 악취를 조사하였다. 수원시 소재 A농장의 부지경계에서 암모니아 발생농도는 평균 0.9 ppm 였으나, 조사기간 중 부분적으로 기준치 1 ppm을 초과하였다. 황화수소와 메틸머캅탄은 각각 0.37 ppb, 0.01 ppb로 기준치인 20 ppb와 2 ppb 이하로 조사되었다. 돈사의 암모니아 평균 농도는 3.22 ppm 였고 5 ppm 이하로 유지되다가 돈사가 밀폐되는 11월부터는 증가하기 시작되었다. 황화수소와 메틸머캅탄은 기준치 이하로 나타났다. 화성시 소재 B농장은 임신돈사내 암모니아 평균농도는 16.3 ppm 였고, 10월 이후부터 밀폐상태가 높아짐에 따라 급격히 증가되었다. 황화수소와 메틸머캅탄은 각각 26.66 ppb, 7.45 ppb로 높았다. 이와 같은 원인은 환기불량과 사육환경이 열악하여 돈사내 암모니아 발생농도가 높았으며 돈사외부로 배출된 암모니아와 돈사 옆에 있는 퇴비장에서 발생되는 악취가 혼합되어 부지 경계에서 암모니아 발생농도가 높은 것으로 나타나 돈사의 사육환경 개선과 신속한 분뇨처리 및 미생물제제의 올바른 사용이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. Civil appeals on odor from swine barn have been increasing. This study was conducted to compile basic data of odor from swine barns as civil appeals on odor have been increasing. Odor was monitored from two gestating sow barns and the boundary of those barns in Suwon and Hwaseong city from June to November, 2008. Mean ammonia concentration measured at the boundary of A piggery in Suwon city was 0.9 ppm with occasional breaks of permissible limit (1.0 ppm). Mean concentrations of hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan were 0.37 ppb and 0.01 ppb, which were lower than permissible limits of 20 ppb and 2 ppb, respectively. Mean ammonia concentration was 3.22 ppm and was maintained under 5.0 ppb. Ammonia concentration had increased since November when the barns were closed. Hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan were lower than the permissible limits. Mean ammonia concentration measured at the boundary of B piggery in Hwaseong city was 16.3 ppm and steep increase of concentration was monitored after October when the barn was sealed up. Hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan were 26.66 ppb and 7.45 ppb, respectively. In appropriate ventilation and raising environment would cause high ammonia concentration in swine barns. Emitted ammonia from barns and composting facilities were mixed, which would cause higher ammonia concentration on the boundary of barns. Hence improvement of raising environment, rapid manure treatment, and correct use of microbial preparation would be needed.

국내 2층돈사 및 톱밥돈사의 분뇨처리 실태 조사를 토대로 국내 실정에 알맞은 고상식돈사의 적정분뇨 처리방법을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 1. Control 1, T1, T2에서 분뇨처리상 평균 온도는 $25.3{\sim}25.4^{\circ}C$로 차이가 적었고, 공기유동은 Control 1과 T1의 공기유동보다 T2에서 공기유동이 적었으며 먼지 발생량은 Control 1에서 54 cpm로 T1과 T2 보다 많이 발생되었다. 2. 암모니아 농도는 $0.5{\sim}14.5ppm$로 Control 1가 평균 6.0 ppm으로 가장 높았고, T1(2.8 ppm)과 T2(2.6 ppm)에서 낮았으며, 처리간에 유의차(p<0.05)가 있었다. 또한 톱밥살포 전, 후의 암모니아 농도를 비교한 결과 톱밥을 살포하는 Control 1과 T1 처리구에서 감소효과가 있었다. 3. 이산화탄소($CO_2$)의 농도는 T1(581 ppm) 처리구에서 제일 낮았고, 수분함량은 Control 1과 T2에서 적정 수분함량인 65%에 근접하였으며, T1에서는 수분함량과 pH가 가장 높았으며 유기물함량과 탄질비는 가장 낮았다. 4. 두당 톱밥살포량은 Control 1과 T2에서 각각 0.26, $0.27m^3$로 T1 보다 적었고, 브로어 등 경영비에서는 T2 처리구가 좋았다. 따라서 분뇨처리상에서 톱밥을 10 cm 바닥에 덮고, 주기적으로 2층에서 톱밥을 살포하는 T2 처리구가 좋은 것으로 사료된다. This research was conducted to examine proper manure treatment methods for a high-rise swine barn with results of the fact-finding survey on manure treatment methods used in high-rise swine barns and sawdust swine barns In Korea. The average temperatures on bedding of control, T1, and T2 were between $25.3{\sim}25.4^{\circ}C$ with little difference. Air flow rate of T2 was slower than those of control and T1. Dust generation in control was 54 cpm which was higher than T1 and T2. The average ammonia concentration in control was highest showing 6.0 ppm, ranged from 0.5 to 14.5 ppm, with statistical difference (p<0.05), compared to T1 (2.8 ppm) and T2 (2.6 ppm). Sawdust spreading used in control and T1 decreased ammonia concentration. T1 showed the lowest concentration of $CO_2$. Water contents of control and T2 were close to the proper water content, 65%. T1 had the highest water content and pH, and the lowest organic matter and C/N ratio. The volumes of sawdust spread per head were 0.26 and $0.27m^3$ in control and T2, respectively, which was less than T1. Operating cost such as an electricity bill for blowers was cheap in T2. Hence, T2 bedding sawdust up to 10 cm thick and periodically spreading additional sawdust from second story was recommended.
