Two molecular species of apolipophorin-III (spoLp-III) were purified from the last instar larval hemolymph of Galleria mellonella by gel permeation chromatography (Sephadex G-100), ion exchange chromatography (DE-52), heat treatment (90C for 30 min) and Mono S FPLC, and were named apoLp-III-a and apoLp-lll-b, respectively. They were indistinguishable by SDS-PAGE but could be separated by native PAGE. The molecular mass of apoLp-III determined by SDS-PAGE was approximately 18 kDa. The N-terminal amino acid sequence of apoLp-III-b revealed high similarities with the apoLp-III from Manduca sexta.

Collapsing glomerulopathy is recently described as the disease which causes rapidly progressive renal failure. Clinically, the disease starts with constitutional symptoms, and then nephrotic syndrome with marked proteinuria and hypertension follows. Eventually the disease rapidly progresses to the ESRD within several weeks to months. Its typical renal biopsy findings are extensive glomerular capillary collapse, visceral epithelial cell hypertrophy and hyperplasia, and variable degree of tubulointerstitial inflammation. Such findings closely resemble those of HIV associated nephropathy(HIVAN) except endothelial inclusion body in HIVAN. Here we present, for the first time in Korea, a 16 yrs-old female patient with ESRD in a normal sized kidney. Nephrotic syndrome and hypertension were also accompanied. Serologically, she had no evidence of HIV infection. Though her symptom duration was somewhat shorter than that previously reported, her renal biopsy findings were those of collapsing glomerulopathy as pre-viously described. Her renal function did not return to normal, and now she is on regular hemodialysis, waiting for renal transplantation.

Syphilis, caused by the spirochete Treponema pallidum, is a chronic systemic infectious disease. Nephrotic syndrome, hepatitis, or gastric involvement resulting from secondary syphilis are well-documented complications, but very rare. Moreover, the simultaneous occurrence of these complications in the same patient is extremely rare. This report describes 43-year old male patient with syphilis presented with features of nephrotic syndrome, acute hepatitis, and gastric involvement. A diagnosis of secondary syphilis was nade by skin lesions and serologic tests for syphilis. After a diagnosis of syphilis, we supposed that nephrotic syndrome and hepatitis were the complications of sccondary syphilis and performed kidney and liver biopsies. A kidney biopsy revealed membranous nephropathy characterized by subepithelial hump-like electron-dense deposits and effacement of epithelial foot-processes on electron microscopy. A liver biopsy showed a feature of lobular hepatitis with a few granulomas. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) showed multiple shallow ulcers with varying degrees of nodular mucosa at gastric antrum. The patient was treated with intramuscular benzathine penicillin G, 2.4 million units. Proteinuria, skin lesion, hepatitis, and EGD finding were resolved rapidly after penicillin therapy. In conclusion, syphilis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of the nephrotic syndrome, hepatitis, and gastric involvement occurring separately or simultaneously. 외국인의 식습관 특성이 한식 양념 선호도에 미치는 영향

한식의 우수성은 이미 국내외 많은 연구결과로 밝혀진바 있으나 현재까지 한식세계화에 성공하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 2009년 한식 세계화를 실현한다고 야심찬 계획도 발표하고 1,300억원의 자금도 사용하였지만 한식세계화에 실패하고 말았다. 여러 이유가 있겠지만, 한식의 메뉴의 수는 헤아릴 수 없이 많고 동일한 한식메뉴도 조리사의 조리방법과 식재료의 상태여부에 따라 여러 가지의 맛이 날수 있으며, 이에 따른 표준화 실패와 대표 음식의 잘못된 설정 등이 이유 중의 하나일 것으로 보인다. 이에 대표 음식의 설정에 있어 가장 중요한 것은 외국인들의 입맛이며, 음식의 맛을 결정하는 요인 중 재료도 중요하지만 재료 이전에 중요한것이 양념이다. 한식에 대한 많은 연구가 있었지만 양념에 대한 연구는 극히 미미하여 한식양념에 대한 선호도 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 정확한 통계를 위하여 국내체류1개월 이상의 외국인중 중국인, 일본인을 대상으로 하였고 분석방법은 빈도분석, 기술 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 요인분석, 다중회귀분석, 조절회귀분석 등을 사용하였으며, 체류 기간에 따른 한식 양념선호도에 어떤 조절효과를 주는지를 조사연구하였다. 연구 결과 건강한 식습관 자극적 식습관 집단에서는 맑은 탕 류, 간장류 에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고 다양한 식습관집단은 고춧가루/장류에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고 체류기간에 따른 조절효과에서는 오직 간장 류에서만 유의한 결과가 나타났다. 이는 한식 세계화 사업에 고춧가루/장류 양념으로 만든 음 식보다는, 간장 류를 기본양념으로 조리된 한식 메뉴 잡채, 불고기, 쇠갈비, 쇠갈비 찜, 간장 게장, 떡갈비, 쇠고기 장조림, 닭찜, 등을 한식 세계화 사업에 우선메뉴로 육성해야 한다는 시사점이 도출되었다. Although the superiority of Korean Food has been come out into the open with many research results around the world it has not been successful globalizing it until now. In 2009 had announced a grand plan to globalize the Korean food and spend & 120,000,000,000. However, the plan had failed. The cause of this failure was putting the base of the plan on the foreigners’ preference of Korean Menu. There are countless Korean food menus and same identical Korean menu could taste different from the chef’s cooking methods and condition of food ingredients. One of the key factors that affect the taste of food is its ingredients. Seasoning plays a big role before ingredients when it comes to the taste. Although there are many studies were conducted on Korean Food, there were not so many studies done on its seasoning so that the research of preference on Korean seasoning has been started. To come up with the accurate statistics, the target segments were Chinese and Japanese among foreigners who stayed over 1 month in Korea. Frequency, descriptive, factor, multi-regression and moderated regression analysis were used in this study and what moderating effect changes on Korean food seasoning preference based on the foreigners length of stay.
