36,000lbs porcelain insulators of D-1995, D-1997 and D-2002 investigated mechanical and electrical qualities, where is process of using in the Korea 154 kV transmission lines. It analyzes the cause of the elapse of a year aging of the transmission insulators. Weibull distribution function, product quality and uniform quality, etc. investigated for prediction to extant life of insulator. It calculate change as statistical elapse of a year through product qualities of used insulator and new insulator, uniform equality and uniformity of insulator. In case of D-1995 year used insulator, it decided to badness decline index k by 0.0237, badness quality index by 1.0 and 3.0. Result of extant confidence life Ym was calculated that remain each 4 yens and 0.7 yens that uniformity index is considered. Extant life of D-1997 and D-2002 insulators Predicted by about 40 years.

To understand the effects of forest fires on polymer insulators for transmission lines, the forest fire simulation tests were performed with polymer and porcelain insulators at Gochang testing center. These tests consisted of energizing 90 kV at line-to-ground voltage of 154 kV lines and open flame rising up to $600-630^{\circ}C$ as being measured at insulator surface. Mechanical and electrical characteristics such as specific mechanical load, leakage current, low frequency dry flashover voltage and impulse flashover voltage were analyzed for the polymer insulators before, during and after simulation tests compared with porcelain insulators. At the end of fire simulation tests, there was no detrimental deterioration of any insulators. All insulators passed the criteria of KEPCO specification. This study showed that forest fire simulation had no impact on polymer insulators.

Wind farms employs induction generators which are two type, one is Squirrel cage for fixed speed wind turbines and the other is Wound induction generator (doubly fed induction generator : DFIG) for variable speed wind turbines. this paper describes grid connection scheme of wind power system using two type induction generators and simulation results show the characteristics of two type induction generators.

To determine seasonal fluctuations in abundance and species composition, predatory animals of young abalone, Haliotis discus hannai samples were collected by trammel net from January to December 1997 off Sukbyung in Kyoungsangbuk-do. A total of 1,662 predatory animals were sampled and identified into 49 species, 31 families, 12 orders and 4 phylum. Of the twelve orders, Scorpaniformes, Perciformes, Pleuronectiformes and Tetraodontiforms accounted for approximately 63.39% of the predatory animal fauna in this area. Scorpanidae was dominant representing 5 species. Of 49 species identified, Asterina pectinifera, Ditrema temmincki, Neptunea polycostata, Charybdis japonica, Anthocidaris crassispina, Pugettia quadridens, Hexagrammos otakii, Thammaconus modestus, Hexagrammos agrammus, Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus, Takifugu niphobles and Pleurogrammus azonus accounted for 72.38% of the individuals collected. Paroctopus doflerini, Hexagrammos otakii, Ditrema temmincki, Pleurogrammus azonus, Thammaconus modestus, Hexagrammos agrammus, Conger myriaster, Platycephalus indicus and Halichoeres poecilopterus constituted 84.80% of the total biomass. The number of individuals were larger in spring than in winter. A peak abundance of total individuals occurred in May; the following abundance in June; the lowest abundance in March. The number of species did not showed seasonal variations however, greater biomass was observed from January to March than July to December.

In order to evaluate the marine mollusc as foodstuff not only from the biochemical aspect but also from the view point of food science, we have analyzed the protein and amino compositions of the Urechis unicinctus on reproductive cycle. We sampled Urechis unicinctus from January te June, 1999 in Yosu. Urechis unicinctus’s muscle contained about 12.95~16.63% of protein, 0.01~0.47% of fat, 78.93~83.41% of moisture and 2.59~3.48% of ash. The total amino acid compositions change in the muscle of Urechis unicinctus was found to be very similar reproductive cycle of Urechis unicinctus. The major amino acid of Urechis unicinctus’s muscle protein was glutamic acid, glycine, alanine, leucine, and asparactic acid in order.
참전복(Haliotis discus hannai) 치패의 근육위축증 원인인 스쿠티카섬모충에 대한 Chitosan의 구충효과

최근 남해안 육상수조에서 사육중인 참전복(Haliotis discus hannai) 치패가 근육 위축, 탈색 및 움직임이 둔화되면서 폐사(근육위축증) 되어 문제의 심각성이 야기되어 원인생물의 구제에 관한 제반 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 스쿠티카섬모충에 대한 chitosan-oligosaccharides(OCHT)의 구제효과를 조사하였다. 항기생충 시험에 사용된 스쿠티카섬모충은 근육이 위축된 전복치패에서 검출된 것이다. 분리된 기생충은 서양배 모양이며, 내부에는 다량의 과립과 커다란 핵이 있으며, 구강은 배쪽에 있으며, 몸표면에는 크기가 같은 섬모가 있다. 충체의 전장은 24∼48㎛였다. 그리고 기생충의 구제시험에 사용된 OCHT은 96%의 탈아세틸화도와 7∼14당체였다. 배양된 기생충은 OCHT 300-500ppm시험구에서 30분이내에, OCHT 50-200ppm에서 1시간이내에 사멸되었다. 그리고 근육위축증이 발생한 전복 양식장에서 OCHT(200ppm, 1시간) 약욕에 따른 총 세균수는 3.2∼4.1×10⁴ CFU/㎖에서 3.4∼4.5×10² CFU/㎖로 감소하였으며, 해수 및 전복치패에서 스쿠티카섬모충은 검출되지 않았다. 한편, OCHT처리에 따른 스쿠티카섬모충의 사멸은 시간의 경과에 따라 섬모가 위축되거나 없어져 활동이 둔화되면서 타원형의 충체가 원형의 충체로 변했다. 원형의 충체는 세포질이 팽창되어 세포막이 파괴되어 죽거나 한쪽방향으로 세포막이 부풀어 올라 세포질이 이동된 후 세포막이 파괴되어 사멸되었다. 이것은 올리고키토산의 킬레이트화 등에 의한 기생충의 삼투압 상실로 기생충이 사멸된 것으로 추정된다. The purpose of this study was to confirm antiparasitical effect of chitosan oligosaccharides(OCHT) which was characterized by 96% deacetylation and 7-14 oligosaccharides, against scuticociliatids parasitic on cultured abalone, Haliotis discus hannai in a recirculation aquaculture system in southern Korea. The parasite was pear-shape, 24∼48㎛ in length, had many ciliam, contractile vacuole and nucles. Scuticodiliatids isolates were cultured and adjusted to 10⁴ individuals/㎖ in nutrient broth before adding OCHT diluted to 10, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500ppm. After the addition and incubation(20℃) of each diluted OCHT in the scuticociliatids-incubating flask, the parasites were died within 30 minutes in OCHT 300-500ppm, 60 minutes in OCHT 50-200ppm. When the treatment with OCHT was performed to get rid of the parasite in abalone cultured land-marine tank system, they were exterminated after 60 minutes in OCHT 200ppm. And there was apparent descreasing 3.2∼4.1×10⁴ CFU/㎖ to 3.4∼4.5×10 ² CFU/㎖ in the number of bacterial colonies. Until 60 minutes after the addition and incubation at OCHT 200ppm in the scuticociliatids-incubating fask, death process of the parasites was examined by time interval. The parasite showed non motility, withering of cillia, circle shape, extension of cell wall, movement of cellula tissue, destruction of cell wall. This indicated that formation of OCHT has a strong antiparasitical activity against scuticociliatids causing withering syndrome of abalone.
한국산 개불, Urechis unicinctus의 서식생태에 관한 연구

For the commercial culture of marine echiuran worm Urechis unicinctus, a series of basic ecological study has been conducted for fishery period(November, 1998~April, 1999) in the laboratory and southern coast of Korea. The environmental factors of echiurans' habitat such as water temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen were ranged 8.0~14.9 °C, 30.1~33.1 psu 7.0~8.9 ㎎/ℓ, respectively. The habitat sediments were composed of coarse sand, sand silt and silty sand. The highest densities and biomass of U. unicinctus were found in areas of the sand silt. In the laboratory, all echiurans performed burrowing success in coarse sand and sand within 24 hours, but none did in silt and clay within 10 days. In sand silt, echiurans enabled to dig 0.7~2.8 burrows/day/ind. And U. unicinctus made a burrow of U shape.
