There are only residual words in the fragments or those mixed with two recognizable whole words. It is very difficult to restore the word if there is only an unrecognizable residual word. However, the residual words mixed with one or two whole words can be restored by comparing them with other glyphs appearing in Huayan Shijing (華嚴石經). In addition to this method, the clear whole characters in the fragments can be confirmed by the location of the Huayan Shijing, and the residual words can be restored by comparing the sentences before and after. At the same time, through this restoration method, the actual location of the fragment can also be clarified or even specified in Huayan Shijing. In the final analysis, it can be concluded that the whole word is easy to recognize while the residual piece that has the same residual character is difficult to recognize.

The purpose of this study is to reconsider on the real condition of selection and assign of chinese characters for beginning students in Korea. There is two institutions for beginners, one is middle school as an official organization and another is test institute as a private agency. According to result of study, there were quite a few problems with this conditions and to correct that we must do it as follows. First, must to survey all of chinese characters that is used in the past and now in Korea on the frequency, range of use, ability of organization of components, ability of organization of words. Secondly, in order to apply the survey and analysis result to practical instruction, also make research on weighted value of apply about four section came up in above. Finally, to decide scope of selection and assign of chinese characters based on result of research on the four sections.
동형이체자(同形異體字)의 유형(類型) 및 조자과정(造字過程) 고찰(考察)

本文主要考察字形相同却從不同的正字變形而來的異體字, 卽對擁有兩個以上正字的異體字從多個角度進行分類, 倂考察其變化過程。一個異體字擁有不同正字時大多是擁有兩個, 但考察結果顯示擁有三個正字的也有, 甚至從四個正字變化而來的情況也有。령外, 從正字變形成分方面考察各個異體字的變形, 考察結果顯示此類異體字和一般異體字一樣是筆劃和偏旁在變, 倂沒有特別之處。但是, 存在異體字的兩個正字變形成分不同的情形。卽一個是筆劃成分變形, 而령一個則是偏旁成分變形, 最終變成相同字形。最後, 從各個異體字開始成形的開端方面考察各個異體字的變形, 考察結果顯示大部分是從隸書、楷書階段開始變形, 然而有一部分却是從甲骨文、金文或者古文階段開始變形的, 這一點可稱得上是有些特別。

The purpose of the present study is to analyze Diwuyou compiled by Sim Youjin (1723-?), which is the oldest Chinese character dictionary discovered in Korea. In this paper, we analyzed the character and phonetic transcription of Diwuyou and concluded as follows: the text is designed for the pedagogical purpose to help beginners learning characters in an easier way. For this particular purpose, the text contains entries that have invalid characters or variant forms as well as incorrect analysis regarding the meaning and the pronunciation. This is probably not an appropriate way to grasp the origin of characters, but on the other hand, it can be regarded as an effective way for learners from a pedagogical perspective. From this, we can assume that the aim of the text is to provide an easy and a fast way for learners to memorize characters, rather than to provide the actual and accurate information of the characters.
