Be representative of the population in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) for this study were used. We were included in the study that depression group are exposed to a of obesityrelated eating habit and lifestyle behaviors of depressed compared with general middle-aged women to understand the importance of stress and depression of the many causes of obesity. This study method included socio-demographic and general characteristics, anthropometry measurements, dietary habits and life style to study the difference between the depressed group and the normal group by t-test and chi-square test. Showed that the depressed group compared to the normal group, feel more stress awareness. There was a statistically significant difference in the depressed group were higher than the normal group according to dymass index and waist circumference in age, waist circumference, body mass index, weight, total cholesterol, triglycerides. Obesity-related dietary habits and life styles of the depressed group and the normal group, there was a difference between the two groups in ‘frequency of snack’, ‘frequency of dining out’, ‘intake a variety of food’, ‘prepare adequate and in hygienic condition’ items. This study was the significance of the study of obesity-related dietary habits and life styles as a method for the prevention of obesity in middle-aged women.
심상유도음악(GIM)프로그램이 중년주부의 우울감 감소에 미치는 영향 : Three Case Studies

In many conservative societies, women are expected to play a vital role in family's survival and well-bing. As mothers and wives, they live with great burden to support husbands and provide good education to their children. In their middle-age, they experience menopause and the children claim independence, and consequently they suffer from depression accompanied by isolation and loss of identity. Therefore, depression of middle-ages woman is not only personal issue, but can be a social issue. The purpose of this study is to examine if Guided Imagery and Music(GIM) can be uses to reduce depression. GIM is a technique development by Helen Bonny which utilizes programmed classical music. It is a listening intervention which purports to lead the listener for an explorative journey with music. Three housewives diagnosed with depression participated in the study. They received 10 individual sessions via quantitative and qualitative means. Quantitatively the pre/post test scores were obtained using Beck Depression Inventory, Self-Esteem Inventory, and lastly, skin temperature were recorded using Biotic Band Ⅱ before and after each session. Qualitatively the participants evaluated smoothness and depth of each session using the provided questionnaire, and researcher reported each session by transcribing the journey dialogue. The results showed that quantitative scores of self-esteem and depression has shown a positive changes. The skin temperature also increased after each session, which indicated that the participants' tension level has reduced during the session (p<.001). The qualitative measurement indicated that participants' response to the session has become more in-depth and smooth as session progressed. The study showed that in the beginning, participants experienced anxiousness and loneliness due to the loss of identify, however, with musical exploration of inner-self and ego, they were able of identify their self-worth, purpose and meaning of life. They visualized different imageries provided with music and were able to gain insights in terms of what they meant. The study showed that GIM is a therapeutic approach to work with housewives. GIM respects passive participation in music and invites them to examine their inner world and strengthen their ego by identifying self identity and support system in the environment.
고등학생과 부모집단의 자녀가치 인식에 대한 토착심리학적 연구

The purpose of this study is to examine value of children among high school students and their parents in Korea using the indigenous psychological analysis. A total of 1,005 participants (335 high school students, 335 fathers, and 335 mothers) completed an open-ended questionnaire developed by Park and Kim (2005). Results for both generations indicate that the positive values of children include the following: A child brings harmony and happiness to the family, brings an increase in population, brings benefits to society, and provides old age security. As for the negative values of children, the following results are reported for both generations: The high costs of raising children, conflicts among family members, and difficulties in raising and educating children. Third, male students had greater desire to marry and give birth to children than female students. Fourth, the main reason to marry for students of both sexes is to find a companion for life. As for the reason for not marrying is to maintain their freedom. As for reasons for having a child, male students are more likely to report carrying on the family line, while female students are more likely to report happiness and meaningful life. As for the reason for not having a child, male students are more like to report financial costs, while female students are more likely to report the burden of raising children.
