Antineoplastic activity against human gastric and colon carcinoma cell lines was measured in 49 extracts from 46 plants using the MTT(3-[4, 5-dimethyl thiazol-2-yl]-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) method. Six extracts from five plants have been reported to have antineoplastic effects. Extracts from remaining the 41 plants failed to show significant cytotoxic effect at the concentration of less than 230 ㎍/㎖.

2017년 8월 12일 국내 미기록종 레이산알바트로스 Phoebastria immutabilis 1개체가 부산광역시 강서구 성북동 바닷가(35° 4"55.95"N, 128°50"9.70"E)에서 발견되었다. 본 연구는 국내에 기록된 알바트로스(P. albatrus) 외 레이산알바트로스(P. immutabilis)의 첫 기록으로 세부적인 특징 및 분포와 관련된 기초적인 자료를 제공한다. On 12 August 2017, one Laysan Albatross Phoebastria immutabilis was discovered by local Wildlife Rescue Center on the beach in Seongbuk-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, South Koea. To date in Korea, only one species, Short-tailed Albatross P. albatrus in the family Diomedeidae has been recorded and this is the first record of P. immutabilis. This report provides a detailed description of the characteristics and an information of distribution in this species.
자기공명영상으로 선택된 환자에서의 대퇴전자간 회전 내전 절골술을 이용한 대퇴골두 무혈성 괴사환자의 치료

We used MR(magnetic resonance) image to formulate new selection criteria for the identification of suitable patients with femoral head osteonecrosis for transtrochanteric rotational varizational osteotomy. The selection criteria included: [1] an early post-collapse osteonecrotic hip(loss of congruity or crescent sign) without narrowing of joint space or acetabular involvement; [2] an age of less than 55 years and a painful hip; [3] an angle of more than 120 of intact portion of the femoral head on midsagittal MR image. Seventeen patients met predefined selection criteria and were treated with the osteotomy. The angle of rotation was determined preoperatively in midsagittal MR image. The osteotomy included 20 of intentional varization. Postoperative scintigraphy showed adequate perfusion of the femoral head. They were followed for a period of 36 to 67 months(mean, 50 months). Hip score by Merle dAubigne et al improved from a mean of 13.4 preoperatively to a mean of 17.6 at the latest follow- up. Collapse of the feporal head was arrested in all hips and no case required a total hip arthroplasty. Use of MR images(kstead of plain radiograph) in the patient selection and in the determination of rotational angle may improve the success rate of the transtrochanteric rotational varizational osteotomy.
유러닝/컴퓨터과학 : 스마트 폰 터치스크린 기반 로봇 제어

기존의 원격 로봇 제어기는 단순히 방향과 명령을 전송할 수 있는 더미단말기로, 이를 이용하여 로봇을 제어할 경우 매 순간마다 방향과 명령을 전송해야 한다. 이러한 로봇제어방식은 이동경로 등의 구체적인 제어명령을 설정함에 있어 불편함이 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 센서를 이용한 신체 동작인식기기와 서버를 이용한 로봇제어방식도 있으나, 이러한 방식은 휴대 성이 불편하여 해당 기기의 위치에서만 제어할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 스마트폰의 터치스크린을 기반으로 정보입력방식과 정보처리기능을 이용하여, 로봇의 구체적인 이동경로를 설정하고, 직접 제어 명령을 처리하여 정보 전송의 효율성을 높이는 새로운 로봇 제어방식을 제안하였다. 이러한 방식을 구 글의 개방형 모 바일 플랫폼인 안드로이드(Android)와 교육용 로봇인 레고 마인드스톰 NXT(LEGO Mindstorms NXT) 간 블루투스(Bluetooth) 통신 방식을 이용하여 설계하였다.
조기대퇴골두무혈성괴사에서 괴사범위와 대퇴골두함몰과의 관계

In a randomized trial conducted to compare the core decompression to the conservative treatment, we tested the hypothesis that the extent of necrosis at the intial magnetic resonance(MR) study predicts the subsequent risk of collapse of the femoral head. After the initial clinical evaluation incluing plain roentgenography and MR imaging, thirty-seven hips of early-stage osteonecrosis(ON) in thirtythree patients were randomly assigned to core decompression group or conservative treatment group. All the patients were regularly followed by clinical evaluation, plain roentgenography and MR imag- ing at three-month intervals. The extent of ON was estimated on the basis of the percentage of abnormal signal intensity in the weight-bearing portion of the femoral head as determined on a combination in coronal and sagittal MR images. The angle of necrotic portion in mid-coronal image(A) and that in mid-sagittal image(B) were used to quantify the extent of necrotic portion by the formular;(A/180)x(B/180)x100%. A strong correlation was observed between the percentage of necrotic portion and the development of collapse. We concluded that the extent of necrotic portion is a major risk factor of the collapse and proposed a systematic method of classifying the percentage of necrotic portion which might be useful as a predictive index for that fate of early-stage ON.
