Development and pilot test of ICT in education readiness indicators in the global context

This study aims at developing ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) to be included in education indicators. The ICT indicators will not only measure the readiness level of ICT use for each country’s educational development, but also diagnose the strengths and weaknesses of each country based on quantitative and qualitative data. This study also addresses the following international indicator set of eight domains of ICT in education, Policy, Infrastructure, Human Resources, Curriculum, Educational Service, Educational Resources, Use, and Equity, based on the Korean experience of ICT in education implementation for K-12 education. Through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and feasibility study of pilot data from different countries, we developed 82 indicators from eight domains. Thirty-five of the 82 indicators were used for the analysis of ICT4ED (ICT for Education Development) readiness in 2010. Based on the data submitted from 11 participating countries, we present descriptive data for each domain and calculated; concurrent validity, the correlation between the domains and the international index. In addition, we present the case of Armenia as an example of diagnosing a country using the indicators of ICT4ED, and show that the developed indicators are useful for identifying imminent issues of ICT4ED in a specific country.

In distributed process control systems, sensor-t o-control room connections is inevitable as networking technologies advance and several network protocols are proposed for plant floor control systems. Therefore, we analysis protocols such as ARCnet, CAN, MAP, Field Bus and SCRAMnet + in terms of real - time capability and guarantee of high reliability. Although these protocols adapt protocol schemes for real - time and deterministic communication characteristic in nature, one needs thoughtful selecting criteria for high reliable applications such as nuclear power plant and time critical manufacturing plants.

학교 전산망 통신장비의 신뢰성 분석기법

컴퓨터와 통신기술의 급속한 발달과 함께 교육의 정보화를 위해 정부는 다양한 통신장비들을 학교에 보급하고 있다. 학교 전산망의 통신장비가 다양하고, 복잡하게 전산망이 구축되어 있어, 복잡한 형태로 고장이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 고장의 발생은 학교 전산망의 이용율을 저하되어 막대한 예산을 낭비하고, 원활한 학교 행정업무와 효과적인 교수학습환경을 지원할 수 없다. 그러므로 통신장비의 고장의 원인과 명확한 분석을 통하여 고장발생을 사전에 예방하고, 근본대책을 마련하여 신속히 복구해야 한다. 따라서 학교 전산망의 통신장비를 정량적, 정성적으로 분석할 수 있는 기법을 제시했다. 이러한 방법을 이용하면 학교 네트워크 장비의 관리에 있어서 효율성을 높일 수 있을 것이다.

Guided Instruction of Introducing Computational Thinking to Non-Computer Science Education Major Pre-Service Teachers

Since ‘teaching coding’ or ‘programming’ classes for computational thinking (CT) education in K-12 are renowned around the world, a pre-service teachers’ readiness for integrating CT into their teaching subjects is important due to the fact that CT is considered to be another ‘R’ from algoRitm for 21st century literacy, in addition to the traditional 3R (Reading, Writhing, and Arithmetic) [2] and CT roles to other disciplines. With this rationale, we designed a guided instruction based CT course for pre-service teachers. We show the effectiveness of the program with respect to the teachers’ attitude toward combining CT into their teaching subjects, and mindset changes of learning computing connected with the career development of the teacher themselves. The research focused on the instructional methodology of teaching programing for non-Computer Science Education (CSE) majors who are not familiar with computer science for alleviating the cognitive load of first exposure to programming course under the CT concepts.

멀티미디어 수업을 위한 학교 전산망 설계

교육정보화의 진전에 따라 많은 학교에 전산망이 설치되고 있지만 실제 전산망을 구축함에 있어 학내 정보의 이용과 관련한 자료가 부족하여 멀티미디어 활용 수업 등에서 요구되는 성능을 갖는 전산망을 설계하는데 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 네트윅 시뮬레이터를 활용하여 초·중등학교에서 이루어지는 네트윅 된 멀티미디어 수업을 지원하는 학교 전산망 설계방법과 멀티미디어 수업자료와 학급 크기에 따른 요구조건을 만족시킬 수 있는 적절한 네트윅 설계안을 제시하였다.

실업계 고교 컴퓨터 교육에서 직업기초능력 계발의 필요성과 과제

정보기술로 인한 일터의 변화는 다각화되고 급변하는 직업세계에 적응할 수 있는 직업인을 요구하고 있다. 이에 따라 여러 나라와 기관에서는 인적자원이 갖추어야 할 기본적이고 기초적인 능력을 강조하는 '직업기촌으력'을 제안하고 있으며, 그러한 능력을 갖출 수 있도록 하기 위해 학교 교육에서 이를 어떻게 실현할 것인가에 대한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 컴퓨터 교과 교사를 대상으로 현재 컴퓨터 교육을 통한 능력 계발 정도를 조사한 결과, 교사들은 상당히 부정적인 시각을 보였으며 컴퓨터 수업이 '컴퓨터 사용능력' 계발 위주로 진행되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 실업계 고등학교 컴퓨터 교육에서 이러한 전반적인 직업기초능력 계발의 필요성과 문제점을 분석 하였으며, 이를 위해 '상황 내에서'의 학습을 제안하였다.

단기 ICT 교사연수가 SDG4 ICT 능력 향상에 미치는 효과성 : 캄보디아 ICT 교사 연수를 중심으로

국제개발협력 형태로 이루어지는 교사 연수는 대부분 단기간의 연수 형태로 이루어지므로 그 효과를 최대화 하기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 정보교과를 가르칠 교사를 훈련시키기 위하여 설계된 단기간의 ICT 교사연수가 UN이 정한 지속가능한 개발목표의 교육 분야 목표인 SDG4에서 요구하는 ICT 능력 향상에 어 떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검증하였다. SDG4 ICT 능력 검증을 위하여 숙련도 수준을 측정할 수 있는 문제를 개 발하고 이를 적용하여 SDG4.4.1 지표에 대한 조사값이 자기보고식으로 이루어져서 갖는 한계를 극복할 수 있 는 방안을 제시하였다. 자기보고식 평가와 선다형 형태의 평가 및 ICT 및 컴퓨터교육 교수진으로 구성된 전문 가 평가 결과 단기간의 ICT 교사 연수에서도 10%에서 20% 이상의 각 능력별 기술 개선의 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다. 자기보고식의 평가에서 응답자들은 보다 긍정적으로 자신의 능력을 평가한 반면에 전문가 관찰에서 는 긍정적인 기술 습득의 유의미성이 줄어드는 경향을 보임으로서 일반적으로 자기평가 방식이 보다 자신의 능력을 과대하게 평가한다는 다른 연구들과 비슷한 경향을 발견할 수 있다. 연수전체에 대한 평가에서 응답자 들은 자신들의 능력에 대하여 상대적으로 낮은 점수를 부여함으로서 자기보고에서 보인 반응과 대비됨을 알 수 있고, 이러한 자기 능력에 대한 확신을 부여할 수 있는 연수 방안이 필요함을 알 수 있다. Teacher training in the form of international development cooperation is mostly short-term, and research is needed to maximize its effectiveness. This study examines the effectiveness of a short-term ICT teacher training program designed to train teachers to teach information subjects on improving ICT skills required by SDG4, the education sector goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. For the SDG4 ICT skills validation, we developed and applied a questionnaire to measure proficiency levels to overcome the limitations of self-reported data for the SDG4.4.1 indicator. The results of self-reported and multiple-choice assessments and expert evaluation by ICT and computer education faculties show that even short-term ICT teacher training can result in skill improvements of 10% to 20% or more for each skill. Self-reported evaluations showed that respondents rated their skills more positively, while expert observations tended to show a decrease in the significance of positive skill gains, similar to other studies that have found that self-assessment methods generally overestimate skills. In the overall evaluation of the training, respondents gave relatively low scores to their abilities, which contrasts with their self-reported responses and suggests a need for training that provides confidence in their abilities.

원격 컴퓨터 교육을 위한 형성평가 프로그램의 설계 및 구현

새로운 교수-학습 방법들이 정보화 사회로의 변화에 따라 제안되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 원격 컴퓨터 교육을 위해 퀴즈를 통한 형성평가 시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 컴퓨터 학습은 많은 개념을 포함하고 있어 학습하기 어렵고, 원격교육은 시공간적인 제약을 극복할 수 있으나 학습자의 강한 동기를 요구한다. 또한 형성평가는 학습자나 교수자에게 학습과정에 대한 안내를 해주는 좋은 자료가 되지만 학습자나 교수자에게 부담이 되어서는 안 된다. 이 점에 대한 보완책으로 퀴즈형 형성평가 프로그램을 사용자 인터페이스와 데이터베이스를 중심으로 설계하고 구현하여 보았다. 웹기반 원격 컴퓨터 교육을 수행하는데 있어 본 프로그램은 학습과정을 학습자 및 교수자에게 피드백하고, 캐릭터 및 아이템을 활용하여 학습자의 흥미를 높이도록 하였다. 학습자는 더 높은 동기를 가지고 원격 컴퓨터 학습에 임할 수 있을 것이다.
