In this paper, propose an optimal design to improve the mechanical efficiency of gate valve made by forging method. In order to design the experiments using table of orthogonal array and optimization design is conducted as application of real response model to Taguchi method based approximation model using computer simulation. Also, from verification of the response model with optimized results was confirmed that usefulness and reliance of application Taguchi method to structural optimum design using finite element analysis and equation.

The performance of cooling tower is affected mainly by the thermal performance of cooling tower. In this paper, designed the shape of new fill based on the shape of plate heat exchanger. A contrast of heat transfer performance is executed by numerical analysed. And fur new fills have been devised and their performance have been compared with those of existing fill to find shape.

Development of die technology for holder and barrel dies is necessary according to minimization of lens assembly, image sensor, and connectors. In these cases, there are two technical problems arising from die design. One is determination of knock-out pin location in die set. Minimization of lens assembly size make it difficult to obtain ejecting space. The other is whether or not high-precision die technology is possible to reduce torque variation when holer and barrel products is assembled. In this study, multi-cavity die set was developed taking advantage of gear-driven ejecting method. In the developed technology, die manufacturing technology was guaranteed with a high-precision level.

In deep drawing processes, the wall thickness in the sheet metal forming always decreases which causes lots of dimension problems. In this paper, the decrease in wall thickness at the corner was minimized through the newly developed preform shape and it was found that the wall thickness increased in a certain degree. The calculated distribution of the wall thickness after forming was in good agreement with the experimental results. The effects of the corner radius and the preform shape on the decrease in wall thickness at the inner corner were examined by both FEM simulation and experiment.
