Soybean (Glycine max L. cv. Hwangkeum) seeds were irradiated with the dose of $0{\sim}20$ Gy to investigate the effect of the low dose ${\gamma}-ray$ radiation on the early growth and resistance to subsequent high dose of radiation. Germination rate was not enhanced in the seeds irradiated with low dos ${\gamma}-ray$ but plant height and fresh weight increased in the low dose irradiation group. The optimal radiation dose for the growth increasing was 8 Gy in soybean plant. Growth inhibition of soybean plants by high dose radiation was noticeably reduced by pre-irradiation of low dose radiation, Resistance to subsequent high dose of radiation was effective in 8 Gy and 20 Gy irradiation group.

Tomato (Lycopericum esculentum $M_{ILL}$ cv. Seokwang and cv. Housemomotaro) seeds were irradiated with the doses of $1{\sim}20$ Gy from $^{60}Co$ $\gamma$-ray source to investigate the effect of the low dose $\gamma$-ray radiation on the early growth and resistance to subsequent high dose of radiation. Germination rate of seeds irradiated with low dose $\gamma$-ray was enhanced in Seokwang cultivar but not in Housemomotaro cultivar. Seedling height increased in 4 Gy and 8 Gy irradiation group of both cultivars. Plant height of Seokwang cultivar was depressed in low dose irradiation group but fresh weight was increased in 2 Gy and 4 Gy irradiation group. In Housemomotaro cultivar, plant height increased in 12 Gy and 20 Gy irradiation group and fresh weight increased in 4 Gy and 20 Gy irradiation group. Growth inhibition of tomato plants by high dose radiation was noticeably reduced by pre-irradiation of low dose radiation. Resistance to subsequent high dose of radiation was enhanced in 2 Gy and 8 Gy Irradiation group of Seokwang cultivar and in 2 Gy and 12 Gy irradiation group of Housemomotaro cultivar.

Thirty day old rice seedlings, Ilpoom and Taeback variety, grown under deficient condition of several elements in nutrition solution of sand culture were exposed to 20Gy, 40Gy, 80Gy of gamma ray (^(60)Co) to study the effect of their radiosensitivity. The results obtained are summarized as follows : Plant height and fresh weight of nutrient deficient rice plants were far less than those of control. The effect was different with nutrient element and rice variety, as show increasing effect of radiosensitivity in the Ilpoom variety was high in the Fe deficient whereas that of Taeback was high in the P deficient. Growth inhibition of rice plant irradiated with 20Gy was highly occurred in the Fe and Zn deficient plot in Ilpoom variety and P and Zn deficient plot in Taeback variety. In 80Gy irradiated group, radiosensitivity of rice plant was high in the P and Ca deficient plot of both Ilpoom and Taeback variety.

오늘날 ICT기술의 눈부신 발전으로 많은 부분에 정보화와 자동화가 이루어져 있으며, 제조업에서도 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위해 설계, 생산 공정의 자동화와 정보시스템을 도입하고 있다. 그러나 정보화 투자 여력이 없는 영세 중소제조 기업의 경우 생산현장에서 정보화의 힘이 미치지 못하고 있으며, 작업자의 경험과 수기데이터에 의존하여 생산 공정을 관리하고 있는 실정이다. 수기데이터로 관리되고 있는 제조공정에서는 불량 발생 시 불량원인을 명확히 밝혀내는데 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 수기데이터로 관리되고 있는 중소제조 자동차 부품 가공공정에 대하여, 수기데이터를 수집, 향후 센서데이터를 활용할 수 있도록 중소 제조 맞춤형 분석시스템을 구축하고, 중요도가 큰 일부 공정에 대하여 품질에 영향을 미치는 핵심요인을 4M관점에서 분석하였다. 분석결과, 호기별 불량수량에는 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 원자재, 생산수량, 작업자간 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

The most remarkable aspect in the hormesis law is that dose of harmful agents can produce effect that are diametrically opposite to the effect found with high doses of the same agent. Minute quantities of a harmful agent bring about very small change in the organism and control mechanisms appear to subjugate normal processes to place the organism in a state of albert and repair. The stimulated organism in more responsive to changes in environmental factors than it did before being alerted. Routine functions, including repair and defense, have priority for available energy and matetial. The alerted organism utilizes nutrients more efficiently, grows faster, shows improved defense, and lives longer. Accelerated germination, sprouting, growth, development, blooming and ripening, and increased crop yield and resistance to disease are found in plants. Another concept supported by the data in that low doses of ionizing radiation provide increased resistance to subsequent high doses of radiation. The hormesis varies with subject plant, variety, state of seed, environmental and cultural conditions, physiologic function measured, dose rate and total exposure. The results of hormesis are less consistently found, probably due to the great number of uncontrolled variables in the experiments. The general dosage for radiation homlesis in about 100 (10 to 1,000) times ambient or 100 (10 to 1,000) times less than a definitely harmful dose, but these must be modified to the occasion. Although little is known about most mechanisms of homzesis reaction, overcompensation of repair mechanism is offered as one mechanism.
대신호 시영역 모델을 이용한 광섬유 격자 외부 공진 레이저 다이오드의 해석

A large-signal time-domain model is implemented to analyze an FG-LD (Fiber Grating Laser Diode) in which a reflective laser diode is hybrid-integrated with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG). When the length of the externally integrated resonator is 8 mm, in which the effective FBG length of 2.1 mm is included, a static frequency chirp of 0.44 GHz and a dynamic frequency chirp of 6.4 GHz are observed. In addition, it is also observed that the eye of the 10Gbps NRZ signal is well open. The FG-LD is expected to be a cost-effective solution for a 10Gbps-class single wavelength laser covering a span of 50 km range.
운동형태에 따른 최대 운동이 심근 산소소비량과 혈중 젖산 농도의 변화에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of different exercise types including isokinetic, isometric, and istonic exercise of same exercise intensity on cardiopulmonary function and blood lactate level. The subjects of this study included 17 males college students. Each subjects after pretraining measurement performed isokinetic, isometric and isotonic exercise of 1 week interval using Cybex 6000 System. KBI-C and YSI 1500 were used to measure changes in cardiopulmonary function and blood lactate level respectively. First, comparing changes in RPP relative to exercise type, isokinetic group showed significant difference between before exercise ($7.08{\pm}1.12mg/kg/min$) and post exercise ($18.98{\pm}1.75mg/kg/min$). Isometric group showed that significant difference between before exercise($7.89{\pm}0.98mg/kg/min$) and post exercise($20.22{\pm}2.41mg/kg/min$). Isotonic group showed significant difference between before exercise ($8.14{\pm}0.11mg/kg/min$) and post exercise ($19.84{\pm}2.30\;mg/kg/min$). Second, comparing changes in blood lactate level relative to exercise type, isokineic group showed significant difference between before exercise ($2.99{\pm}0.65mmol$) and post exercise ($6.55{\pm}6.55mmol$). Isometric group showed significant difference between before exercise($1.71{\pm}5.48mmol$) and post exercise ($5.48{\pm}1.97mmol$). Isotonic group showed significant difference between before exercise($1.16{\pm}0.48mmol$) and post exercise($5.21{\pm}1.28mmol$). The results of this study indicate significant differences RPP in isometric exercise and significant differences blood lactate in isotonic exercise.

국제방사선량 및 측정위원회(ICRU)가 쐐기인수를 정의하고 있지만 방사선치료계획장치는 쐐기에 관한 다른 개념을 도입하여 선량을 보정하기도 한다. 개념이 다른 인수들은 아주 다르게 정의되어 있기 때문에 그 값도 용납될 수 없을 정도로 다를 수 있어서 심각한 선량오차가 발생될 수 있다. 설치된 방사선치료기(Cinac 21EX, Varian, 미국)에는 물질쐐기(위와 아래)와 위턱에 의한 쐐기 기능이 있고 방사선치료계획장치(RTPS)로 Eclipse(Varian, 미국)와 Pinnacle$^{3}$(ADAC, 미국)가 사용되고 있다. 물질쐐기와 기능상쐐기의 쐐기인수, 쐐기상대출력인수 및 쐐기출력인수를 물팬톰에서 이온함으로 측정하여 조사면크기와 쐐기위치, 쐐기각, X선 투과력, 측정조건에 따라 분석하고 비교하였다. 기능상쐐기가 물질쐐기에 비해 여러 가지 요인에 크게 영향을 받으며, 기능상쐐기의 쐐기인수 등에 영향을 미치는 주된 요인은 조사면크기와 쐐기각 이었다. X선 투과력도 쐐기인수 등에 약간의 영향을 미쳤다. 쐐기에 관련된 상이한 개념의 인수는 그 값이 6 MV는 63%, 15 MV는 59% 이상 다를 수 있기 때문에 선량오차를 줄이기 위해 방사선치료계획장치에 활용되는 인수를 파악하고 RTPS에 합당한 값을 입력해야 한다.

Metastatic Carcinoma of the Neck Node from an Unknown Primary Site

1980년부터 1986년까지 확인불능의 원발병소로부터의 경부임파절 전이 진단하에 26명의 환자가 서울대학교병원 치료방사선과에서 치료를 받았다. 전체 환자 26명중 불완전한 치료를 받은 3명을 제외하고 방사선치료 단독으로 또는 수술과 화학요법을 병행해서 완전한 치료를 받은 23명을 대상으로 후향적 분석을 시행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 전체환자의 3년 생존율은 $32\%$이며 N-병기에 따라서 보면 N2 병기는 $43\%$, N3병기는 $13\%$로 나타났다. 조직학적 소견에 따라 편평상피암 환자군과 비편평 상피암 환자군으로 나눌 때 3년 생존율은 각각 $34\%,\;29\%$로 나타났다. 전이된 임파절 위치에 따라서 분석해보면 경부임파절 전이 환자군과 쇄골상부임파절 전이 환자군은 각각 $44\%,\;17\%$의 3년 생존율을 나타냈다. 대상 환자 23명중 6명에서 치료후에 원발병소가 나타났는데 3명은 폐장에서, 1명은 식도에서, 다른 2명은 각각 위장과 비인강에서 나타났다. 원발병소의 존재유무에 따른 3년 생존율은 각각 $17\%,\;38\%$로 예후에 영향을 미치는 것처럼 보였다. 예후인자를 분석해보면 N-병기와 전이된 임파절의 위치가 중요한 예후인자이며 원발병소의 존재유무는 예후와 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 조직학적 소견은 관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. From 1980 to 1986,26 patients with metastatic carcinoma of the neck node from an unknown primary site were seen in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology of Seoul National University Hospital. Among these, three patients were excluded from further analysis due to incomplete treatment. So a retrospective analysis was undertaken on 23 patients who had complete treat-ment with radiation therapy alone or in combination with surgical treatment and chemotherpay. The overall three year actuarial survival rate was $32\%$. According to the staging system of the American Joint Committee on Cancer, the three year survival rates with N2 and N3 patients were $43\%\;and\;13\%$, respectively. In 16 patients with squamous cell carcinoma and seven with non-squamous cell carcinoma, the three year survival rates were $34\%\;and\;29\%$, respectively. Analysis according to site of nodal involvement was also done. Patients with cervical node and supraclavicular node involvement recorded $44\%\;and\;17\%$ of three year survival, rate, respectively. In this study, six patients eventually manifested the primary sites (three in the lung, one in the esophagus, one in the stomach, one in the nasopharynx). Presence of the primary site seemed to influence the prognosis ($17\%\;vs\;38\%$). In analyzing the prognostic factors, the nodal stage and site of nodal involvement were important prognostic factors, and the presence of a primary site seemed to influence the patients' survival, but histology did not.
