<8명의 주자를 위한 옥타곤>(Octagon for 8 Players)을 통하여 본 강석희의 고유한 작품세계와 비대칭성

Sukhi Kang(1934-) is composer of the modern music who is well known for his sound aesthetics, which represents “Sukhi Kang’s sound.” He specially emphasizes the well counted musical form and structure, where emotional expression is completely ruled out. His controls upon the using tones are especially strict. There are no repetitions of special tones, such as the highest and lowest tone, as well as adjacent tones. That’s because these tones determinate the contour of the complete piece. Sukhi Kang places his concerns on the characteristics of individual pieces especially on their creativity and uniqueness. On the basis of his sound aesthetics this research of his recent piece titled <Octagon>(2012) for 8 players, commissioned by EIT(Ensemble Interactive Tokyo), focuses on the asymmetrical aspects, where his favorite numbers 2, 3, 4, 8, 12, 59 are mentioned. For the proof of the asymmetry, simple geometrical figures are used, such as two squares, one triangle and one pentagon to create an octagon.

미기록 외래식물 모래별꽃(Stellaria palida), 들별꽃(S. ruderalis), 애기점나도나물(Cerastium pumilum)의 보고

Stellaria pallida (Dumort.) Crép., S. ruderalis M. Lepší, P. Lepší, Z. Kaplan & P. Koutecký, and Cerastium pumilum Curtis are unrecorded alien species of Caryophyllaceae found in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do in the Republic of Korea. Stellaria pallida is readily distinguished from other taxa in the same genus by its petals, as it's considerably smaller than the sepals or absent. In contrast, S. ruderalis is difficult to identify as it has intermediate traits between S. media L. and S. neglecta (Lej.) Weihe. However, S. ruderlais clearly identified by seed morphology, and S. ruderalis, unlike S. media and S. neglecta, has conical shape of outer periclinal wall and papillate on the basely surface of that. Cerastium pumilum is similar to C. glomeratum Thuill. and belongs to the same subgenus (Sub gen. Fugacia); however, it has some distinct characteristics, including stamens that are primarily 8 (5-10), upper bracts with membranous edges, and the length of the pedicels and petals being longer than that of the sepals. The three of alien plants was recorded for the first time in this study, and information of their habitat, distribution map, description and photographs are presented.

도플러 환경에 강인한 OFDM 반송파 미세 주파수 동기

OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) 전송방식은 부 반송파의 직교성을 이용하여 주파수 대역을 효율적으로 사용하고 다중경로 페이딩 환경에서 강인한 특성을 가지고 있다. 그러나 OFDM 시스템에서 주파수 옵셋이 발생하면 부 반송파간의 직교성이 상실되고 서로 간섭을 일으켜 수신 신호의 오류가 증가하게 된다. 본 논문은 기존의 상관 방법을 개선하여 소수배의 옵셋을 예측하는 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리듬은 임의의 주파수 옵셋을 양과 음의 방향으로 인가한다. 그리고 임의의 주파수 옵셋이 있는 신호간의 상관값을 비교하여 소수배 주파수 옵셋을 추정하게 된다. 제안된 알고리듬은 전산 모의 실험에서 성능평가를 하였다. An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) system is effective to bandwidth because of orthogonality of subcarriers and robust to multipath fading. However, if there is a frequency offset, we lose the orthogonality of subcarriers and that results in inter-carrier interference(ICI) which increases errors in the system. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that estimates the fine frequency offset using a correlation method in OFDM systems. This scheme compares two correlation values in different frequency offsets with opposite directions. From the difference between two correlation values we can derive a fine frequency offset estimation algorithm. Its performance is verified by computer simulations.

QPSK변조를 이용한 OFDM 시스템의 심볼 타이밍 동기

OFDM(orthogonal frequency division modulation)은 주파수 선택적인 페이딩 환경에서 높은 전송율과 빠른 속도를 가지는 효율적인 전송 기법이다. 그러나 OFDM 심볼이 시작되는 지점을 정확히 찾지 못하면 시간 영역에서 위상회전으로 인해 수신 데이터의 BER(bit error rate)이 높아질 수 있다. QPSK(quadrature phase shift king)변조를 이용한 OFDM 시스템에선 정수배의 샘플 옵셋만 아니라 소수배의 샘플 옵셋까지 보상하여 동기를 획득해야 한다. QPSK 심볼 복조 시 소수배의 샘플옵셋이 잔존할 경우 시스템의 수신 성능은 떨어지기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 QPSK변조를 이용한 OFDM 시스템에서 소수배의 샘플 옵셋이 존재할 경우 동기를 획득하는 방법에 대해 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 심볼 타이밍 동기 방법은 수신된 트레이닝 심볼의 상관관계를 이용하여 0.5 샘플 이전과 이후의 충격응답을 각각 구하여 이들을 차를 이용하여 동기를 획득한다. 제안한 심볼 타이밍 동기 기법의 성능은 멀티패스의 모델화 채널을 적용한 모의실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

영화 속 클래식 음악의 기능분석:영화 〈체실비치에서〉를 중심으로

이 논문은 도미니크 쿠크(Dominic Cooke)감독의 영화 〈체실비치에서〉(On Chesil Beach, 2017)의 줄거리와 클래식 음악과 영화의 의미연합 관계를 탐구하는 것으로, 내러티브에 의한 정보가 클래식 음악이 지닌 정보와 어떻게 연합하는지를 분석하고 있다, 이를 위하여 베쉬위너(David Bashwiner)가 분석한 영화 〈킹스 스피치〉(King’s Speech, 2010)의 마지막 장면과 베토벤 심포니의 음량 및 기악법 변화와의 관계, 그리고 안수환이 분석한 〈그린 북〉(Green Book, 2018)의 호텔 대화 장면과 드뷔시의 아라베스크에서 나타나는 변화에 의한 의미 연합 연구를 방법론으로 활용하였다. 또한 악곡이 지닌 음악 외적인 정보를 통하여 어떻게 청각적 의미를 생성하는 지를 슈만의 ‘트로이메라이’를 활용한 분석을 선행연구로 삼아 방법론으로 활용하였다. 영화 〈체실비치에서〉에는 모차르트의 K.593과 하이든의 Op.77 No.1, 그리고 슈베르트의 D. 810이 활용되었다. 본 연구는 〈체실비치에서〉에 나타난 모차르트, 하이든, 슈베르트의 곡이 어떤 기능을 하고 있는지를 분석하였다. 이 영화는 등장인물들의 관계와 내면적 의도를 표현하기 위하여 악기 간의 관계, 음악적 정보와 음악외적 정보 등을 활용하였다. 이러한 클래식 음악의 정보들과 영화의 줄거리적 핵심 정보는 감상의 이해를 향상시키는 기능이 있음을 본 연구를 통하여 알 수 있다. This thesis explores the relationship between Dominic Cooke’s film 〈On Chesil Beach〉 (2017) and classical music. To analyze the relationship, researchers applied precedent research to the study. The relationship between the final scene of the movie King’s Speech (2010) and the volume and instrumental changes of the Beethoven Symphony is analyzed by David Bashwiner, and Soohwan Ahn analyzed semantic association between the hotel conversation scene in a 〈Green Book, 2018〉 and Debussy’s Arabesque. In addition, the study of application of Schumann’s Träumerei to films was used as a methodology to find out how extra-musical information build meaningful sonority. Mozart’s K.593, Haydn’s Op.77 No.1, and Schubert’s D.810 were used in the movie 〈On Chesil beach〉. This study analyzed the functions of Mozart, Haydn, and Schubert’s music in 〈On Chesil beach〉. In order to express the relationship between the characters and their inner intentions, this film utilized the relationship between instruments, musical information and non-musical information of the pieces. Through this study, it is analyzed that the information of classical music functions and the core information of the plot of the movie combine together to improve the understanding of narrative.

Passion has a long history in the western culture of music. It has a strong connection with Christianity. It has been a tradition to perform passion music before Easter Sunday, especially on Good Friday, when the crucifixion of Jesus was remembered. Christians together wanted to feel the suffering of Jesus Christ with this music, describing the situation of the crucifixion of Jesus on the base of the Bible. Lee, Geon-Yong (born 1947) has composed Jesus Passion in 2007 for his church and his church choir. Six years after the premiere, it is ready to be performed in Germany translated in German language. This is a remarkable thing throughout the western history of music, that passion music is composed by a non European composer. Although Korea has a very short history of western music of about 130 years, many Korean musicians play splendid roles in the global music scene, because of their outstanding performances. But for the compositional field, especially religious music, this is very uncommon. The reason again is its short history no longer than 130 years. What special aspect has Lee’s Passion? Lee’s musical idea and philosophy is simply expressed by ‘Here and Now’, which is expressed by the composer himself. To examine what it is, what meaning the concept ‘Here and Now’ has, is the main purpose of this research. Musical language could have the long life, if it is played repeatedly by different cultures, no matter how their own cultural background is. In that sense, the importance of Lee’s Jesus Passion being performed in Germany has not to be ignored. This might be the real spirit of globalization and inter-cultural communication.

Richardia brasiliensis Gomes was found in agricultural land in Susan-ri, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do. Richardia L. is closely related to Diodia L. in Korea, those are confirmed to features of calyx, collora and fruit. This species is similar to R. scabra L., but it differs morphologically from the letter in surface structure of mericarp. The mericarp of R. brasiliensis has line like kneel at the adaxial, whereas R. scabra has groove at the adaxial. R. brasiliensis is recorded for the first time in this study and a morphological description, distribution map, and photographs are presented.
