Impact and prospect of the fourth industrial revolution in food safety: Mini-review

        김상순,김상오 한국식품과학회 2022 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.31 No.4

The fourth industrial revolution represented by big data and artifi cial intelligence (AI), already had a signifi cant impact on the food industry. In this review, the impacts and prospects of the 4th industrial revolution in food safety were discussed. First, the general process and characteristics of AI application from data collection to visualization are covered. Additionally, various data collection and analysis methods are discussed, with emphasis on the collection of high variety, volume, and velocity data and visualization. Available literature presents examples of machine learning applicationsin food samples that are mostly associated withthe classifi cation of agricultural food items through convolutional neural networks. Based on these examples, the prospects of the 4th industrial revolution in food safety are categorized as follows: prediction of food safety risk, detection of foodborne pathogens, andfood safety management. This mini-review will help understand the relationship between the 4th industrial revolution and food safety.

일부 경북지역 산업장의 제특성에 따른 건강진단과 보건관리 실태

        김상순,김정남,박정,김옥란,차경미,곽오계,박경민,최연희,백경신,Kim, Sang-Soon,Kim, Jung-Nam,Park, Jung,Kim, Ok-Ran,Cha, Kyung-Mi,Kwak, Ou-Ke,Park, Kyung-Min,Choi, Yoon-Hee,Bak, Kyung-Shin 한국지역사회간호학회 1993 지역사회간호학회지 Vol.4 No.1

The purpose of this study was to find the status of health examination and health management of industrial companies located in Taegu and Kyung book areas. It will provide basic information for the provision of effective health management of industrial workers. 49 companies were selected as a study sample group, and data was collected by using a structured Questionnaire which was developed by the members of the Community Health Nursing Academy of Korean Nursing. The health managers of the companies filled out the Questionnaire. The data was gathered from Dec 20, 1992 to Jan 20. The results of the study was as follows : 1. The Study sample showed 85.7% manufacturing companies having 300 or more workers. 2. All the companies had health managers, and companies which had 1,000 or more workers had industrial physicians and nurses. Only 12.2% of the industrial physicians were full time employees, and almost all industrial nurses were full time employees. Except for industrial physicians and nurses, the proportion of hygienists (6.1%), nurses aids (4.1%), and environmental engineers (22.4%) with full time employment statuss was very low. The mean age of industrial physicians was 49.2 while that of industrial nurses was 27.2. The length of work experiences currently ranges for 1 to 3 years for all health workers: physicians, nurses, hygienists, and environmental engineers. 3. Health examination and follow up care 94.31% took general health examinations. Of those, the proportion of the workers, who were determined as C grade(in need of close examination) was 43.86%. The proportion of the workers who were determined as D grade was 22.19%. 13.28% of the workers evaluated at the D grade were taken as a gauge for temporary leave from work. While 8.7% and .09% of them were taken as gauge for a change in job, and or shortening work hours respectively. The proportion of workers who must have taken special examination was 65.04% and of those the proportion of the workers who actually took, the examination was 98.55%. 75% of the workers who were recommended for follow up care were given follow up care. The special examinations were done the most frequently to detect the effects of physical agents (59.2%). Direct notice to individual workers was used the most frequently as a method of notification after a special examination (61.2%). The length of time taken to receive the result of a special examination was less than 1 month (38.9%) and 36.7% had taken up to two months (36.7%.). Most results of special examination were obtained within 2 months. The referral rate of consulting special examination by health managers was estimated at 95.9%. 4. 89.8% of the companies had. their own company dispensaries and 75.5% of those. had separate dispensaries. 32.7% of the companies designated local clinics for health management of workers. Industrial nurses performed health examination the most frequently(1.4 points). Health appraisal for work places were. done the least(0.83 points).

Antibacterial and in vitro antidementia effects of aronia (Aronia melanocarpa) leaf extracts

        김상순,신영재 한국식품과학회 2020 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.29 No.9

This study investigated the antibacterial andin vitro antidementia effects of aronia (Aronia melanocarpa)leaf extracts from 3 cultivars (Nero, Viking, andMcKenzie) collected at three different stages of maturity(young, harvest, and old). Bacillus cereus was susceptibleto the old leaves of cultivars McKenzie and Nero, whereasEscherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella Typhimurium, andListeria innocua were not inhibited by any of the extracts. Growth of B. cereus was inhibited by cv. McKenzie, resulting in increased lag time, whereas Nero had both aninhibitory and an inactivation effect. Except for cv. Vikingat harvest stage, the acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesteraseinhibitory activity of aronia leaf extractswere about 60–70 and 70–80%, respectively. Therefore, aronia leaf is a natural resource with a potentially potentantidementia effect, besides antibacterial activity.

Liability of Newness, Startup Capabilities and Crowdfunding Success

김상순 한국마케팅학회 2020 ASIA MARKETING JOURNAL Vol.21 No.4

Though crowdfunding has emerged as a cost-effective means to market innovative products and a channel for financial resource acquisition, our understanding about what makes a successful crowdfunding is still limited. This study is motivated by the presence of the inconsistency that both entrepreneurs and investors pay more attention to capabilities required for developing prototype products rather than capabilities needed to deliver the promised products in crowdfunding. By drawing insights from studies about liability of newness and legitimacy in institutional theory, this study argues that startups can overcome the liability of newness, earn investor trust, and successfully complete crowdfunding campaigns by effectively presenting visible and invisible capabilities. This study presents a set of testable propositions predicting the likelihood of crowdfunding success and explains the theoretical and practical value of the proposed conceptualization of startup capabilities.

Disproportionate Decline of Executive Functions in Early Mild Cognitive Impairment, Late Mild Cognitive Impairment, and Mild Alzheimer’s Disease

        김상순,강연욱,Kyung-Ho Yu,이병철 대한치매학회 2016 Dementia and Neurocognitive Disorders Vol.15 No.4

Background and Purpose Many literatures indicate that executive dysfunction exists in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) as well as Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, there are few studies that found how early the deficits of the executive function (EF) exist in MCI. The present study investigated the presence of executive dysfunctions in the earliest stage of MCI, and the sub-domains of EF which are disproportionately impaired earlier than others. Methods The participants were 41 normal elderly (NE), 86 with amnestic multi-domain MCI, and 41 with mild AD. The MCI group was further sub-divided into two groups: Early MCI (EMCI, n=45) and late MCI (n=41), based on the Clinical Dementia Rating-Sum of Boxes. All participants were given neuropsychological tests to assess the sub-domains of EF, such as verbal fluency, psychomotor speed, inhibitory control, and mental set-shifting. Results Impairment of semantic fluency was observed in EMCI, with gradual worsening as cases approached mild AD. Phonemic fluency and psychomotor speed were also impaired at the early stage of MCI relative to the NE, but maintained at the same level up to mild AD. EMCI exhibited the same degree of performance with NE for inhibitory control and mental set-shifting; however, they progressively worsened from EMCI to mild AD. Conclusions These results suggest that impairments of EF exist even in the earliest stage of the MCI, with a disproportionate decline in the sub-domains of EF.
